| Hi I'm having my lapband surgery on the 22/10/09. I've written a thread under this heading more or less!! | Selina, Here's some info copied from one of Doreen's earlier posts. ....................... {Dr Blair Bowden does bands ,as many others do but ,fills are the only thing you should need I would suggest cost wise try Dr Jen Duncombe does fills , for Dr Duncombe ,cost with medicare is ...usually.......$10 out of pocket ... for Dr Duncombe she does several locations (auchenflower ....33719521....tuesdays stafford....not sure of the number but auchenflower will give it to you, and logan ....38060077...monthly... on a thursday next time is 30/7/09 as well as several others area's (ask stafford when you get their no as its her base ) any other detail s as she travels around ,the state also,) she is available by mobile phone in an emergency ,(always handy ) Dr Duncombe works with many surgeons doing fills ,} Also you should pop into one of our support groups at Milton.They are always so much fun and always good to vent if you need to. The next one is on 23rd August at 12 noon but a few of us will be there from 11am. Hope this helps, TARA |

| I hope someone can help me here re. problems I am having the the doc. who does my fills. I was banded in Feb. and have finally got to the stage where I think/feel that the band is about right. It has been a long haul, but I have had no blockages/throwing-up so I am happy with the slow and sure road and I am slowly losing weight. HOWEVER.... the doc. who does my fills refuses to tell me how much I have in my band - even when I asked outright, saying that I had the right to know. He just refuses.... I'm not comfortable with this nor with our relationship since this little show down. There have also been a few minor things that I would be willing to ignore if they had been the only 'issues'. Is this normal? not to be told how much fluid is in the band? I feel like a bit of a dill, not knowing. Also, does anyone in Brisbane have someone they go to for fills who they are happy with? All replies appreciated |
