| Jubes Abusive and harrasing posts are reported to Yahoo but Yahoo doesn't do anything about it. The attacks on me relating to my mother's passing are on this public thread and other public threads on this board, they are not "perceived", even the post suggesting that now my mother has passed I should take my own life is "real". During my absence to attend the funeral some people with gentle hearts like youself were pleading with Doreen and others to stop their horrific attacks as they said I was literally sitting in the chapel at that very moment but Doreen chose to ignore those people preferring to believe that I was those people using fake user IDs to post those pleading posts for her to STOP her insane harassment of me. I thank you for your post however the posts were posted in a public manner so I will repsond to them in a public manner. Leanne |

| Ladies, forgive me for jumping in, but I can't but help do so when seeing so much hurt being thrown around in so many different directions. Sometimes when people hurt us, intentionally or unintentionally, the pain is so raw we can't but help lash out. It seems that one of the members of our community has lost someone close, and everyone else should be sensitive to that - in the same way that we would want people to be with us if we were ever in that situation. By the same token, with a gentle heart, I appeal to her not to repond to any attacks (perceived or real) in such a public manner. We are all bandsters, we should be building each other up, and encouraging each other - not using this forum to tear each other down. This is clearly out of control, and if it doesn't settle down, then the responsible thing to do would to be report these posts to Yahoo as abuse. But we're adults, we shouldn't be behaving like teenage school girls. As my father always says, there's three sides to every story - his, hers and the truth, so lets not publically disect who said what, just move on. |

Couldn't you just have said the reason of your jealousy accusations instead of avoliding it & posting a silly post that makes no sense you fool. You say you haven't posted for several months, you've been posting on the Gold Coast Get-together less than one hour ago & General Chat yesterday or today, I didn't check the day. You are regularly posting here you nutter. If you hadn't BULLIED me for months, especially during my one week absence when I wasn't even posting here, when I went interstate to attend my mother's funeral & grieve my mother's passing with my family. You accused me many times during that week of me being fake user IDs, many of which I would have had to be using a laptop in the chapel at my mothers funeral !!! I HATE YOU, I have never said that to anyone in my life, I will NEVER forgive you for not leaving me alone to mourn my mother in peace witout your constant bombardments of bullying & false accusations. How do you think I felt when I returned home & had to read pages of your nasty false accusations of me. You have never apologised & admitted you were wrong, instead on my return you still continued to accuse me of using fake user IDs. All you had to do Doreen was admit you were wrong & apologise, I would have forgiven you & left you alone but you don't have the integrity to admit when you are wrong you horrible nasty escuse for a woman. You have no idea what trauma you did to me, you disallowed me to mourn my mother like any human being should be allowed to do. As a result I feel like I haven't even had a period of mourning & that is even more traumatic for me to deal with than the actual passing of my mother and it's all because of YOU, YOU, YOU. There's only a certain amount of plastic surgery journeys a person can read before they know what they need to know and stop reading. Notice I haven't even posted on here about my plastic surgery journey because I don't feel the need to or have the time to waste? I still can't figure out why you asked me the other day had I been reading your thread, as if I would, I might be stupid but I'm not that stupid to go out of my way to bore myself! These days I don't even have the time to read all my favourite threads here let alone reading yours. | Hi Dave What you have done and plan to do is fantastic, thank you for your in-depth response. I am going to email you personally but I don't have time to do this today, hopefully tomorrow, I have a couple of suggestions you might like. My own NEW group hasn't been advertised because I've been spending a lot of time on it (months in fact lol) making sure it has exacty what the current members need, I had no intention of advertising it until it was exactly how I liked. I noticed your group's services haven't included a couple of things that my group has so I'd like to share these with you off line so you can consider using them yourself. | Continued --- So there's my thoughts. Of course if I am going to do all of that work, the site needs people to use it, but hopefully that will happen! :) Onto a couple of other things you mentioned. You can subscribe to different forums or threads on the site so that you get an email advising you if there are any new posts or replies. It is right down the bottom left of the screen (Subscribe Forum). Also, there is a help file with information about how to use the forum on the top right of the screen (Look for the FAQ link). Other things I can do if you are interested, is set up Private Forums, that are only accessible by specific members, which you or any other group leader can moderate or control. In fact, there is heaps I can do to help the groups if people will let me. Please, if there is anything I can do, please just email me at david@bandingtogether.com .au Also, I am going to post a link to this conversation on my forum, and on the other group lists that I have posted to, so that other group leaders can see your concerns and my answers, so that everyone knows what is going on. | Continued --- Now, back on to the site. I have some more plans on what I want to add to the site over time, although it will depend on how much free time I get! I am guessing the vast majority of Lap Banders have limited web design and programming skills, so I wanted to create a whole load of features that people can use to maek their lives easier. These include: Blogs ----- I want to create a system allowing community members to start and run their own blogs on the site, with all the features of Wordpress or Blogger, without the need for technical knowledge. Galleries --------- I want to create photo galleries for people so that they can share their before, progress, and after photos with everyone (with privacy features if they want to control who sees them). Recipes ------- I want to create a full recipe site full of Lap Band recipes, including the ability to upload photos etc. I am a big cook, and am looking forward to experimenting with creating recipes of things we love but can't have because of the lap band, and find ways of recreating them post Lap Band :) Links and Resources ------------------- Create a list of links and resources for people researching lap bands in one place, so that they can find anything they are looking for. Event Calendar -------------- Provide an event calendar for groups to list their upcoming meetings or coffee catch ups, so that everyone has a chance to come. Live Chat Rooms --------------- I also want to create live chat rooms so that people can meet up and chat at any time. |

I am not sure of the rules in Queensland, but in Victoria you can register as business for very little. However, I would suggest you register as a community group, as the rules are better suited to what you are doing, and allows it to be managed by a committee of people, and have members etc. I set up a community group like that last year and it has worked out really well. It can be done through your state government. | Continued --- I wanted to make the tools for everyone to use, and then step back and just let them use it. The plan was to make each of the group leaders a moderator, so that they can manage the sites forums and everything else, and build their communities together. This is in no way a plan to make money, control everything or anything else. I just wanted to use my week off to fix what I thought was a problem, and make everyone's lives easier. There are no running costs for the site at all, so there is no need for advertising or any other money making schemes. Now, onto your other concerns. I strongly suggest you look at registering your group if you want to protect it! You are lucky that I am in no way looking to steal your group name or anything else (stupid mistakes aside!) but there is nothing stopping some other shark from doing it. I have been involved in setting up community groups in the past, and have some experience so here is my advice: 1. Register your Domain Names! If you have a group you want to protect, the first thing you should do is register the associated domain names on as many different domains as possible (.com, .com.au, .org.au etc). It doesnt cost much, and secures your place on the internet. Godaddy is cheap for US domains (godaddy.com.au) and Hostess is cheap for Australia (hostess.com.au) 2. | Hi Leanne, Thanks for your messages, and for raising the issues you have brought up. First let me say, I definitely did not intend to cause you so much concern this morning, so I profusely apologise if I upset you. I in no way want to steal any of the groups, and certainly don't want to steal your intellectual property! I set this site up because as someone who has been researching Lap Banding for many years, I was dissapointed that the different Australian lap band groups were spread out all over the internet, and it made it quite hard to know where to go to for advice and to see how other people were going with the surgery. A while ago I was looking at the Michael Thurmond 6 Week Body Makeover site and joined their forums, and they were absolutely fantastic. They had lots of great features for people to list how they were doing with the program, and the community was extremely supportive. (http://forums.provida.co m/6weekbodymakeover/defau lt.html) After the surgery, I was thinking about this forum, and wanted to do something similar for the Australian Lap Banding community, as I didn't feel that the sites were very easy to use, with many of the groups listed in one single thread that were thousands of posts long. I felt if I helped by setting up a forum for each group, then it would make it much easier for people to communicate and keep up with each other. The way I figured it, I had the time, the skills, free hosting from my business, and the interest to do it, so why not? Of course, I made a big mistake naming my forums after the groups, because I wanted to save time and make it easier for the different groups to use the site immediately. I SHOULD have contacted the leaders of each group to find out if they wanted it, but I didn't. I have now fixed it, and changed the forums to geographic areas instead of individual group names. | Dave I was just having a look at your threads again, it might be a good idea if you send an email to each of the groups especially the National ones and the PRIVATE groups that have been registed with Yahoo and bring the owners' attention to the fact threads in their group names have been copied on your group to avoid confusion with their members and to give the owners' the courtesy of having the option to request that their threads either remain or be deleted. By the way do you realise you have two Brisbane groups listed, Brisbanders and Brisbane Bandsters, that alone is could be very confusing to their members and your members :) Leanne |
