Thanks for the support Deb, I will keep in mind to go to the toilet before I leave home, arrive at the shops and recon all toilets and then set off lol. It certainly added some added excercise to the day and my friend "Louise" was in hysterics when I told her, witch.

Thelma lmao!
The rush to the loo is common, especially while you are on the shakes and fluids only stages, not much there to " bulk " up shall we say.
I've had many times where a shart is very close!
Now I always know where the closest loo is :)
Your doing great!!

unzippin..being a chocolate freak I went straight for the opti chocolate when I started.
I thought I would gag on the first one!! That was not chocolate to me!!
Then I got a little tip about Jarrah drinks and that the chocolate one was nice, add a little of that to your shake and its a whole new experience!!
Some surgeons don't like you to add anything, so might pay to check but the jarrah drinks are good for the lack of calories and my surgeon said if it helps to get the shake down do it! lol

Day 3...
Finding that if I change the shake times I can limit how hungry I am, but having trouble sleeping which is adding to my tiredness.... Tried metamucil in one of my drinks yesterday, today was shopping in carousel and OH MY Goodness, I needed the loo and I needed in NOW. Not sure if it was the metamucil or just the change of diet but it must have looked hilarious, a 40 year old, 128kg women butt cheeks clenched walking faster than she ever has in her life with single minded determination. Thank goodness City Chic is not far from the loos in the food court... that was a close one. Anyway, was supposed to meet Simon at the gym but we had to reschedule to Sunday, he also told me off for doing too much and not building up cause now my back is very touchy. Will have to watch that. Went to meet "Louise" at the pool, took her little beauty with us. We walked for an hour or so, seemed alot shorter and we talked more than we walked lol. Made plenty of salad this afternoon, so probably had more that 2 cups for dinner, but other than this, have been good, very good infact..... definitely unlike me. Noticed it was wishful thinking and I tried to skip a day yesterday so to get back on track it is now
18 days to go........

That is wonderful news, it is one of the many things I am hoping will be alot easier to deal with once I shift this weight an make a few lifestyle changes.

On a different topic, I am starting to get my hospital kit together, what type of pj's would be best?? Nighty, two piece, something that buttons down the front? Your advise would be appreciated. When I had my gallbladder removed it was basically the same keyholes but less damage inside and no drains so I am a little uncertain what would be best.

Simon is the wiz of backs. He helped the male of the species back more than any drugs before surgery. He would faint if he could see all the walking I do now compaired to when he tested me I was about to fall over after 20m *LOL*

Thank you M2
I know it wont be easy, but I am very determined. I even got told off this morning for doing too much exercise - go figure. I have a dodgey back and I have aggrevated it but there are just some things you have to push through I wreckon, however Simon does not. He asked me to do no exercise for the next 2 days.... when that did not really work we agreed to 30 minutes only before I meet him at the gym on Sunday..... I will try to be good.

Someone after my own heart. I hate it and I never thought something with chocolate could be described that way. I wonder if shavings of lindt chocolote would help lol

Decided that my daily diary was probably not really appropriate for the optifast thread as I want to continue it and my partner in crime who is having her surgery the same day will be adding her experience as well, so this is our journey, which you are welcome to read.

Day 2 18
Opinion of Chocolate and Vanilla optifast has not changed, then again after last nights efforts in the pool I can hardly get out of bed so the only thing I want right now is voltarin Rapid 25's. Actually make it to work and almost on time and decide that I will try to draw out breakfast shake until around 10 which work ok cause I am not particuarly hungry in the morning. I will not have lunch shake until I am actually hungry, which worked out to be 1.30pm, hopefully this will help me with the dreaded 3.30- 4.30 gremlins. Have downed my two litres by 3 and also asked the boss if I can move my desk to the the toilets, it would be far more efficient at this stage!!. He Laughs. 3.30 arrives and so does the odd hunger pang, it is probably more in my head than stomach as my thoughts have been with the dreaded time slot most of the day. I make it through just fine, and leave work a little early to head to the Gym. My partner in crime, lets call her Louise (cause I don't know if she wants her name out there) meets me at the gym and we have a small garden salad which they have drowned in what seemed like a nice dressing until you get to the bottom and it is swimmining in it. Into the pool we go. Having been a criple this morning, I decide no swimming tonight, laps only. So we spa for 15 minutes and then walk for about an hour and a half, don't know how many laps, we talked too much and had a good laugh and the time went very quickly. We set our play date for tomorrow night and head for home. I have saved my favourite shake for the night - strawberry and I put in a spoon of metamucil, not having any issues there, but it does fill you up a bit more... 18 days to go.....

Re:Optifast Stage Reply to this message
Good morning all, For my own preservation I have decided to list my daily diary.... 21 days out from Op (Sleeve Gastrectomy) and first day of Optifast. It will be long and boring so please so not hesitate to skip past. But I think that doing this each day, may keep me a little more honest. So here goes.....
Day 1
Well, as a chocoholic I was positive about my breakfast of Chocolate Optifast (really just a replacement for Lindt right??) and I can only say one word YUK. Nevermind, you have to do what you have to do and I will hope lunch (Strawberry) and Dinner (Vanilla) are somewhat better. Made it to lunch ok, was not hungry, infact I made it past the lunch break before hunger set in about 1pm so I had my Strawberry shake - not too bad actually. Now I have my worst part of the day to challenge me 3pm. Yep 3.30 my stomach thinks my throat has been cut and is very unhappy, water water water, does the trick for a while, the people eating hot cup cakes need a severe beating. Made it to 5.15 and its time to head off...........wait for it......to the Gym, well the swimming pool really. In the pool at 5.50, out of the pool at 6.50 - reached my goal of one hour. Managed to swim 30 laps and walk 26. Not a bad start. Not very hungry now, was going to get a garden salad at the gym but the cue is enormous and I just want to get home. 30 minute drive later, I am at home and I could eat the bill of a low flying duck lol. Have my vanilla shake - back to YUK and I have no salad in the house - major planning flaw - must rectify tomorrow. Figure if I go to bed before my body works through the shake I should be right - one problem - can I get into bed - gosh Im stiff, maybe 0 and 2 in the pool would have been a better start. 20 days to go.....
