| Hi Everyone, My name is Angie and I live in Bunbury. I have had lapband surgery and would love to catch up for coffee etc with anyone who's interested. I don't personally know anyone else who has had it done, so would appreciate anyone who wants to get in touch. |

| Hi everyone, sorry it's been a while since I've been in touch. I've actually been having a few health problems that have left me feeling very low. I've come out of it a bit in the last week or so - so hopefully I'll be on the up-and-up now! No weightloss to report but I haven't gained either so I guess that's better than where I was at pre-band. OK, I'm being a bit cheeky today and letting you know that my man has just started up a spray painting, car detailing etc business here in the South West called Skidrow's Sparkle 'n Shine. I've done up a bit of a website, so if you want to have a look at what services he offers, you can have a poke around in there. | lap band is not the answer generally ! optislim ( two boxes for $55 )has been a good help for me 12 kg in 4 weeks slow and steady,I dont (cant) run or walk fast , I Mix the Vanilla Shakes with :Flat: cold diet drinks Diet rite is good , no carbos, no sugar, 2 shakes a day ,wiped up with a barmix ,Doubles in size if very cold hope that helps someone |

There is also Dr Nick Newman who does it in Bunbury. Not sure who else sorry. We are having a coffee/get together on tuesday at Samovar in Busselton @ 9.30am. | Thanks Carla for your kind words. It was really hard to feel so down about the knock back, and then get no feedback from anyone else.... I appreciate your response. I have written a letter today to send to the dietitian, and hope that it will help me. Dr W is also going in to bat for me, so I'm not giving up yet. Thanks again. | Hi rmb2310, I too am sorry nobody saw your post :( must have made you feel even worse...it must be devastating to have been told no, don't give up..if this is what you really want and the other 4 people agreed to it you must be a candidate. I would be seeing one of the people who agree with you and asking them if they can advise you on what to do.....the only reason i think you were now answered is that this thread was probably lost in the 'black hole'..i would maybe post other questions on the general thread which stays on the front page...i hope you are still around and people can help you, Bron |

| Hi rmb2310 I'm sorry no one has replied to your message in five days!? It's disapointing to know that the board isn't full of lots of positive people like when I was banded years ago. I'm even more sorry to hear that you haven't been approved for surgery, we didn't have strict regulations when I was banded so I can't imagine what you are going through. Did the fourth person give a reason? Can you dispute or go through different channels? One thing I've learn't over time is not to give up at the first closed door. Sometimes things don't come easy but are still meant for us and striving to get them changes our charater. Keep trying if it's what you really want. Sorry I can't be of much help as I'm not really in the loop anymore, I'm not often on this site but popped in to say hello and saw your message and how old it was with no reply and it just broke my heart! | i was told today that i have not been approved for the surgery. i am so devastated, and feel a bit duped, as 3 out of the 4 people who needed to approve me did, but one didn't. my worst fear since this all started. :o( | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| i feel that the southwest slimmers name is better than bunbury bandits. Because as you are all aware we have sleevers and bandits on here now....so the "south west slimmers" covers both of those and the whole of the southwest. What does everyone else think. Nicole |
