Tanya,
I should probably mention (as I have previously so as not to confuse anyone), that I have a gastric bypass not a band. Which means I can eat larger portions and a wider variety of foods.
I have lost 39.5kg since March and very pleased so far with the results.

I am going back to doing my food diary for a while as the past 10 days have been a bit worrying for me... my lovely tight restriction had totally disappeared and i was eating everything like bread, toast, buns, meat even a meat pie etc etc whilst i did enjoy it because i hadnt eaten many of these things in well over a year i have the dreaded fear of gaining weight...but i had such hunger...which was so odd but anyway im waffling
so i toddled off to the doc on Monday and had point two of a mil popped in...plus he checked i still had all fill in the band n no leakage cause of my anxiety rofl and pleased to say so far so good and hunger has again gone and i feel less panicky iykwim
brekkie----coffee
snack----coffee
lunch----half weetbix, dessertspoon allbran, skim milk
snack----coffee, 2 vitawheet, smear of the new vegemite spread
dinner----2 vitawheet, mashed egg, 2 cruskits with lemon spread
snack----Atkins caramel bar
just taking it slowly for a few days as havent had a fill for 6 mths but no problems except with the first bite of weetbix at lunch so i stopped for a while till it settled
i think the only reason i didnt gain any weight during my hunger-period of the 10 days was only due to the fact i do a minimum of 15,000 steps daily

Jen....... flashback! I used to buy ovalteenies from tuckshop at school.... and I'm 34 now! Wow, didn't know you could still get them...... but I did see a sachet of TANG at Woollies the other day and chuckled, so maybe I need to look harder for my 80's favourites lol.

Sorry, I should have put Country Mum and Jen, both of you seem to be eating "Normally" (can I say that?? no offence meant to anyone eating more or less).
Just like Arn said, it is so interesting to read this and it makes it easier to get thru the pre Op - Liquids only and Mushy stage, if I can see what the rest of my life will be like. Thanks again Tanya |

Hi Country Mum,
I am to be banded on the the 14th Sept and a I am finding it great to read about what people eat once banded (I'm on Opti at the moment). Can I ask how long you've been banded and approx what weight lost you achieve per week. You seem to be eating healthly, but not denying yourself too much. Thanks Tanya |

Morning All
Please keep the food diary's coming as I am moving onto Solids and find it really interesting.....
I also find it fascinating the different amounts that people eat and what they can eat. I think I am at that first bite syndrome stage - not sure what to try first that isn't soft!!!!!
Have a great day
Cheers

I was not rude, i did not suggest she was eating too much for her to lose weight - YOU suggested that I did.
I implied that she was eating too much for ME to lose weight and asked if she had good restricion yet or not. if she does, and she can lose weight while eating that, id honestly be ecstatic for her and immensely jealous!
Which part of this dont you understand? my post is right there below these ones. read it again, this time without any personal insecurities or bias involved.

| Exacly. So take your own advice and stop being so rude to other people on this board. When you've lost 55kg you can lecture me on weight loss. |

and this - "I ate about what you eat now and I've lost 55kg." - all it means is that you are eating less than you were before - it doesnt mean youre still not stuffing yourself every night and obviously it does not mean that that amount of food will allow the next person to lose weight.
