Re:A Typical Banded Day - A Food Diary Reply to this message
hehehehe...no dont worry hun

my starting weight was 130kgs, banded 15mths
now sitting on 64kgs so all up have lost 66kgs

only 5'2" so was in size 26/28's
now in a few size 8 t-shirts mainly size 10 in most things

so its really hard work now
i have 4.75mls in a 10mil band

last fill was 1/4 mil back in July
I like to have tight restriction it just suits me better to not get hungry

but I dont neccesarily recommend it for others
you will find along the journey what your comfortable with

Hi kara....nah i usually do if you read back but Im just making a last ditch effort to lose 5kgs....it kinda gets hard to shift after losing so much

so im hoping the fact I ate quite a bit more over the chrissy week and now have gone on shakes it might shock the old body into giving up the last bit....

well sounds good to me...it might wotk:)

but as a rule i dont eat a lot but i have tight restriction so its not too hard

but i only have 5 kgs to get to my goal weight

Back on the straight and narrow after Christmas...

Breakfast - coffee
11am - 2 saos with cream cheese spread
2pm - 5 strawberries
4pm - skim mocha
6pm - 1 cup pasta with bolognese sauce, 2 bites of a corn cob, frozen fruit and yoghurt (strawberries, raspberries, banana and peach mixed in bullet blender with 100ml forme yoghurt - yum, just ike ice cream...)

As you can see, my band is a lot better in the evening, and that is when I tend to have my largest meal for the day. I will probably have another coffee later or a jarrah hot chocolate.

HUGS,
Fi

Thanks Leeanne. I'm not too far from Roselands so I might make a trip over there. I checked the WW website, but they only ship in quite large quantities.
Have a great day!!

Re:A Typical Banded Day - A Food Diary Reply to this message
No probs cat. The baby food thing would not work for me at all, not only does it taste pretty cr a p py but it's too smooth and runny unless you get into the chunky stuff but i have NO desire to do that. I did this so i could LIVE! And eating tastless mush is not my idea of living. :)
I understood the principles of healthy eating a LONG time ago but figured when i got banded "right, i have 3 cups of food per day and what is in that 3 cups has to be of excellent quality both nutritionally and enjoyment wise." And that IS possible to have great, healthy food AND enjoy it. I get very bored with "diet" food and i promised myself that i would NEVER DIEt again and in the nearly 2 years i have been banded i haven't. I refuse to eat low fat muck unless it tastes the same as full fat (like sour cream does) and i'm having a ball. This is just my personal choice, there are lots of very good, healthy bandits who go the low fat option and are SO successful but it's just not for me. I'm a foodie and i can't be bothered with it. ALso, the reason i eat every couple of hours or so is because 1. i have spent my life as a grazer from a small child and i'm not used to just having 3 meals a day and 2. it's good for my metabolism to keep it running at it's peak and 3. i can't eat 1 cup of food in one hit, not solid food like we're supposed to; i just get too uncomfortable. Re:A Typical Banded Day - A Food Diary Reply to this message
Bradley,

You eat a very healthy selection of food. I notice that you eat almost every 2 hours. I imagine I will be doing the same to curb my low blood sugar problem. I have a friend who has been banded since the late 90s and talks about eating baby food. I've never tried it. The portions do look about right, though.

Thanks for sharing your food diary.

Re:A Typical Banded Day - A Food Diary Reply to this message
erm these days it's likely to be
1 wheetbix with honey and milk for brekkie 6.30am
3 lychee's or 1 apricot around 9am
2 vitawheets and vegemite for lunch around 11am
1 passionfruit yogurt or a handfull of beetroot chips or sweet potato chips for afternoon tea at around 2pm ( need crunch and salt at some point during the day)
small piece of fish or a small calamari tube sliced with 1/2 cup of greek salad for dinner around 5pm (can't eat later than that or i'll get heartburn like tonight. Why else would i be sitting up at midnight?! :)

Hi Kelli,
I got banded the same day as you! (2/12)...I have also lost 5 kgs, great feeling huh? Although Im wondering whether it is mainly fluids (but I am drinking so many of them at the moment, it might be unlikely!) I cant remember the last time I lost anything, let alone 5kgs. :))))
How are you travelling with your fluid and water intake and how are you feeling post op? Be interested to compare, Macey
