If this is a typical food day for you, I would say you need some fill out.
you are going to end up with malnutrition and everything else under the sun.
your body will go into starvation mode, and you won't loose.take care

My body would definitely not function on such a small amount of food, Ashanti. I need food to function, but I'm also prepared to burn it off with exercise. Everyone is different. I am often surprised at how little some people eat. I know that for me, my body would just shut down and I would have no energy for anything.
If you can manage on such a small amount of food, and you are not hungry or weak or dizzy, and have enough energy, then obviously it's enough for your particular body. |

baxtermax,
You could also try visiting a website called calorieking.com.au which is fabulous for keeping track of your daily cals, carbs etc.
I found in the early stages it really helped me keep track of and learn where my calories were coming from.
I feel the same as you - I put this band in so I damn well wanna do all I can to make it work.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your replies about nuts and protein :). Thanks for the "suck the shells" tip, Col. I probably will just stick to eating them, and yes they are addictive. But after 3 days of eating lots of them I've had enough! I've had 2 today.
Good to know they'll keep me regular, too ;)

I have been addicted to pistachios for ages now. I love them.
I have a small hand full when every one else is having a biscuit etc with their coffee.
I would eat about a cup a day if I have them at home.
great for constipation sufferers. |

Dear fp
I find that protein stops me from getting hungry for longer than carbs do: I have several different types of mince recipes done up in little containers in the freezer and one of them keeps me going without hunger. Sometimes I have a slice of bread or some biscuits with it: for me, the protein really helps me forget about eating. Carbs, which I love, leave me craving for more..... and more.... etc. |

Oh yes, I think it is also that the nuts are so band friendly. I only eat a small handful and man do I feel FULL! They really clog my stoma up for several hours and it is a nice feeling to be so full and satisfied.
I've heard some of you guys talk about protein. Anyone on a really strict protein kick? Maybe that's what I need to stop my hunger?
I ate half a tub of yoghurt and 1/3 cup of pistachios, cashews, macadamias for breakfast. VERY FULL.
Any thoghts are appreciated :) |

I've been eating nuts like nobody's business. I think I'm likely deficient. I crave pistachios in particular! I used to be a self-confessed nut hater.
I'm eating around a cup of nuts throughout the day. Anyone else found they plumped up from too much nuts? I know they're high in fat, but they're loaded with good stuff. I haven't noticed the scales changing.

Ok I need to be responcible for what I shovel into my gob at the moment, I have been terribley lax and while I havent gained weight, I also havent lost any either.
I have 5 kilos to go till I reach my personal goal and I am sabotaging myself because my inner fatty heard my doctor say I dont need to lose any more weight... I am in the comfort zone...in the 'goooo orrrrrn have it you can afford it " place.
So her is yesterday.
B- 1 dry fried egg, 1/4 peice of toast plus another 1/4 with creamed honey... ( wanted more but resisted)
L-1 chicken and apricot skewer and a mediteranian salad with boccocini and pancetta...yeah and it was full fat dressing.
S- biggest loser mint choc snack bar
D- Slice of ham and egg pie minus the pastry plus a slice of apple pie and ice cream
1 Rum and diet coke, and tea and water during the day.
Wow its worse than I thought... |

And starvation mode is when you eat practically nothing, but you still won't lose weight coz ur body panics and hangs onto it right? My dietician said to get a little bit out too - i just dont want to go too far the other way! Dang - this is tough!

Marg,
I wouldn't be worried but would be looking at getting just a small amount of fill out. You don't want to risk becoming dehydrated or going into starvation mode.

B -
L - a petit miam
D - 1/2 chicken salad
S - Kitkat, mini strawberry milk and 2 snack size chocs.
I think im experiencing what ive read from some other bandits - i cannot eat or drink at all until late afternoon. It's actually quite painful if i try. Cold drinks also really hurt at the moment. Not getting enough fluid down at all - it's simply impossible! Is this normal? Or should i be worried?
