Morning All, Well, I weighed myself this morning and took all my measurements (Scary stuff) and I am 138.7Kg. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life and I can't wait. Tonight there will be B-day cake and then I am "on the wagon".

I have had the best experience with Dr Hensman, even though I've had ups and downs with the band - he has been fantastic. Good Luck.

Hi Sue, Dr Hensman is my surgeon. I can't stop smiling to myself. People are suspecting I'm a little crazy LOL. I have been so big for so long I can't wait to finally see my scales going in the other direction.
Cheers

Hi T
Welcome, and all the best for your op. Who is your surgeon?
The Knox bandit thread has been pretty quiet of late, but there are a few of us still hanging around, so feel free to ask if you have any questions.
Keep us posted with your progress.
Cheers

Hi Guys, I am about to be a Knox bandit. My op is the 14th and I start Opti on the 1st. (My daughter's B-day on the 30th so I'm not starting then! LOL). I must admit, I am getting very excited about the whole journey. I've been reading the boards for a while now and I almost feel like I know a lot of the posters (weird). Congratulations to you all.
Cheers

Shan, thinking og you today - hope nothing serious is going on...
Sue and Tara - I'm ploddingalong - decent restriction - not real tight, a bit afraid to e really. I can eat and sandwich and be stuffed, so that works for me. I am still working out, eating some c..r...a..p abd hanging around the same weight. I must say I am kind of happy here at the moment, as long as the scales are not going up... you know.. I know I will have to kick my butt into gear and work a bit harder to get the weight shifting again. Maybe after Christmas...
How is everyone else going?? Very quiet here these days, hope that means no dramas....

thanks guys, bit scary but we will see how it goes. Belinda actually suggested that i do optifast for 4 weeks on then normal foods for two weeks as my metabolism is a little abnormal due to the PCOS and stuff, dont really want to but might get better results if i just suck it up for two weeks at a time!!!
Yeah Sue, she said that 7th Oct was her last day and that she is leaving to go on a working holiday to Canada. She also said that the new dietician has a lot of experience with weight loss (thats all she told me!)
Hopefully she will be lovely and supportive and we all love her.
Hope everyone is great
oh and Sue....CONGRATULATIONS! How good did that feel???

Hi all
Great news Shan, and hopefully taking a bit out will make things more comfortable for you. Its scary, having fill out, but sometimes it is for the best. You still need to live, and it must be very awkward to go out for a meal and have to stand up! How's your shoulder?
News from Lapsurgery - Belinda is leaving, and a new dietician starting about the same time. Not sure exactly when, but sometime in the next month or two. Shan, did Belinda mention it? Also, they are going to be consulting out of St John of God Berwick, for anyone living out that way. I believe consults will be on Monday mornings, plus operating there soon too.
No news here, all well. I have decided not to get any fill back in. If I do the right thing and eat dense foods I only need small amounts, so I think its about right. Went back to the gym last week, and have dropped a kg, so I'll just stick with that. Bought my first pair of size 8 jeans this week!!!
Hope to catch up with some of you at Louise's meetup on 23rd Sept.
Cheers

ey Guys,
quick update from me. Another apointment im Melbs today. Lost another 1.7 in 4 weeks, slowly but surely.....took 0.2 out! Wasnt too sure about it to begin with but i was running a super tight band and both Belinda and Renato said i was well on my way to a slipage if i didnt take some out soon, so we did and tonight is the first time for ages that i have been able to a) eat a meal and b) eat it sitting down!
Hopefully now i can get some more square meals into me and shift some of this weight!!! 24kgs...GONE.....FOREVER. ...NEVER TO BE A PART OF THIS BODY AGAIN!!!
Great to see you again today Erina, you look a million bucks! My next appointment at this stage is 23 October, might be nice to catch up for a coffee if anyone free.
Hope no news is good news for all as its been a bit quiet on here for a bit

Hi Shan
I am feeling fantastic now the first part is done and I'm pretty much healed. I have always hated my hanging down stomach, and now it is actually flat I am thrilled. Starting to buy some shorter tops to show it off instead of the long ones to cover it up. I love it!!!
The next lot of surgery is still a long way off, hopefully middle of next year.
To fill or not to fill, that is the question. I had 1ml out just over 3 months ago, which is quite a bit. My meal sizes are reasonable, can eat a good variety, have been able to go back to having breakfast etc. But afternoons and evenings I get quite hungry between meals. Weight is relatively stable, as long as I keep the snacks to a reasonable quantity and quality. I don't need to lose any more, but don't want to put on either. I am hovering between 57-58kg. I lost 3kg with the surgery, but have put 1.5kg back on. No more I say.
So its a fine line. If I could control my snacks there would be no issue. But if I could control my snacks I may not have needed a band in the first place. So maybe a little tweak. But every time I decide that I will ring and make an appt, I have a bad day of things getting stuck, and I change my mind.
This maintenance thing is harder than it looks LOL. But I'm not complaining.
Cheers

Thanks heaps Sue, i feel fantastic at the moment.
I heard that your looking a million bucks at the moment, didnt realise that you needed more done. How do you feel now that the first part is over? Are you going to get more fill put in?

Hi Shan,
Great news. Great that you finally have good restriction, and its working for you. Took a while!
I saw my surgeon this morning, and finally have all the bandages off. And we had 'discussions' on the next lot of surgery, and he will do all three things I want at once, arms, boobs and inner thighs. But I won't have it done until next year.
Still trying to decide if I need some fill back in or not.........
Cheers
