Hi, yes I sometimes go but admit havent been to more than 3 or 4 last year. I try to get there but sometimes it is just too hard on a tuesday, though if you would like to go I will make sure i go, just post here closer to the time. there are a few of us who have become friends and we go to maccas after for a cuppa so dont plan on having an early night if you are happy to come along.

Hi Tracie

I've been to one or two, but I find Tuesdays difficult due to running kids around to their activities. Jude 'lovetotraveltara' sometimes goes, I'm sure she will pop on here and let you know if she is going.

Cheers
Sue

Terri - just slightly smaller than last time - people are just starting to notice the weight loss now!

It's probably time for another catch up - any suggestions? Maybe a Sunday brunch??

Hi wendy,
How are you managing? Hanging out for a piece of toast yet?

Craig and Phill,
How are you two going? is the weight starting to come off again Craig? Phil how are you coping mentally, you've been through so much possum, never very far from my thoughts.
Caught up with Sharon and Helen on Friday night, we were all thinking of you, and wondering how you are coping?

Erina,
I missed you at the last support group, I was looking forward to seeing the new you! You have done so well, you go girl!!!

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Shan,

Getting my fill right was an ongoing process. I didn't really feel any difference at all until I got to 7.5ml in a 14ml band. I now have 9.5ml and it's perfect. I can still eat pretty much everything if I go slow and enjoy my food. Rice and pasta can sometimes be an issue, but Im absolutely fine with white bread. Go figure. I just have to go slow. If Im in a hurry, rather than get into trouble with food, I'll have a Tony Ferguson shake. Now I'm having a shake for breakky, 3 vita wheat bisc with tomato and cheese, or mashed egg, or avocado and chicken - whatever - then I'll have whatever the family is having for dinner, last night is was 1 taco. I have been naughty lately and having an icecream at night, but as long as the weight is still coming off ok, Im not stressing about it. I am also having 4-5 really good workouts a week.

You will be fine once you get your restriction right, especially since you already have your exercise happening.

Take care,

Erina

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi Shan

If your restriction is right you won't be able to over eat without realising it, assuming you are not living on icecream! It took me about 9 months to get to the sweet spot, and Erina even longer. It took 3-4 fills before I had any restriction at all, and then gradually snuck up on the sweet spot. We envy those who get it first go, but they are in the minority. You will get there, but it is frustrating I know, when you are so keen to get on with the journey.

Adelaide was good, the surgeon was very nice, and seemed very knowledgeable and confident of a good result. I have made a tentative booking, as I needed to make sure I could get in on the day I wanted. I have seen a local surgeon who was ok, but more specialised in boobs that stomachs. I am seeing another Melbourne surgeon next Thursday, and he specialises in bandits, then I will make a final decision.

Wow, Wendy, a broken needle. You must have a tough stomach!! Hope you are on the improve.

Cheers
Sue

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hey everyone

Thanks Erina, im pretty impressed with myself actually, sore as hell but that will pass when my body gets more and more used to it. COngrats to you for your weight loss, im so envious because whilst i know that im building muscle i really want those scales to start moving, im desperate to get under 100. Like you i cant wait for my double digits party. You seem to be doing so well!!!! You mentioned that it took you a good deal of time to hit the sweet spot didnt you, how long was that, i have 3mls in a 10ml band and really dont feel any restriction at all, unless im unconsciously over eating wothout realising it.....would you be able to do that if you had the right restriction?

Sorry to hear that the fires were so close to you, i hope the danger has gone and all is safe now.

Glad to hear Sue that your friends are safe n sound and thank you for your kind words. I meant to ask you, how did you go in Adelaide, i realise i may be way late in asking but was quite intrigued.

Welcome back Wendy, i bet you sore after that ordeal but its over now and time to start your new life. Hope that your son is coping well

Cheers guys

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi all

Well I am home resting now. Talk about creating drama, Apparently richard was stitching the band in when the needle snapped. He said it has never happened before. They had to make another large incision and bring in xray machine to find the broken needle. He said it took over an hour to locate and remove it. Hence I am very very sore.

Glad everyone is ok and thanks for all the good wishes.

I shared my room with another lady Margo who was getting done also, but because of me her surgery got delayed until yesterday. She will be posting soon.

Thanks everyone

Wendy

Shan, I am very impressed, I would be lucky to be able to walk 7km, certainly could never run it.

Wendy, hope you are recovering well. Take it nice and easy over the next few days. Let the family wait on you.

Very relieved this morning, missing relatives from Narbethong have turned up safely. They have lost their home, but they are safe and well.

Cheers

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Wendy, best wishes for a good recovery! Welcome to the dark side!!!!!

Shan - OMG - 7 kms is awesome. I cant run for 2 minutes! I hate running or treadmills, bikes... all that. I love doing classes at the gym. It's the only thing I will stick to. I do have one gym day where I have to do my program and I dread it! I get so bored. You are doing a great job. Have you taken your measurements? I bet you are losing a lot of size will all the exercise you are doing. Keep up the good work.

Phillipa and Craig, I hope you are both doing well and that you can get a good balance with the band Craig.

I really seem to have hit the sweet spot and Im not letting anyone touch me with any fill!!!! Dropping over a kg a week with 4kg in the last 2 weeks, but that is with an increase in exercise. I'll be having my under 100 kg party soon!!

Sue, we had fires very close to us too, right near the Amberly shops, 5 homes gone. Far too close for comfort.

Hope everyone else is well,

Erina

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi There

Think Wendy will be in for another night, in a bit of pain apparently a piece of the lap equipment broke off inside and so she was on the table for another hour longer as it was quite a job to get it out again so she has 6 insisions instead of 5.

Apparently it is a first, so I said to the lady in the bed next to Wendy (being done today) hope it dosn't come in 3s.

He he he snort ha ha ha
Garry, Garry, Garry, pick up that broken ego baby, it's not
you.....it's Wendy!!! I know cause I laughed so much, I nearly choked on the coffee I was swallowing at the time!
It just sounded like it could have been a cobversation in this house. Wendy, I love that line...can I use it huh, huh, can I!!!!!! Over the years of chatting with you, Wendy and you, sound exactly the same as Ross and I.
He wants it, I don't....couldn't care if I never had it again in my life......and Ross takes it personally.
Doesn't mean we love you any less! Just rather clean the
shower or something........only joking, it's not that bad!
Wendy,
Glad all went well, look forward to catching up at the support group? Good luck mate with the fluid and mushy
stages! C u soon.
p.s. Hope your baby boy, is ok and not too traumatised from
his first strike.......boy what a way to start!

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi All

Well Wendy is now a Bandit all went well, just having a little trouble waking up.

I asked Wendy yesterday how she felt about having the op and she said "it was just like having sex, the sooner it was over the better".

Well I had better get back to picking up the pieces of my shattered ego and get to work.

Garry

P.S.
I am a bit surprised at Wendy remembers that long ago, must have been a realy bad experience.

BANG there goes what was left of the ego.

Good luck for tomorrow Wendy. It will be fine I'm sure.

Garry and Wendy I hope your boy gets through his ordeal ok too. He has no doubt seen things that no one should have to see. I can't praise enough all the firefighters, police and everyone who is involved in helping in all this sensless distruction. They are all to be commended, they are doing a wonderful job in such horrific conditions.

My thoughts are with all of those people affected by this. I'm in Narre Warren North and could see from my front door all the smoke from the fires there yesterday just across N/W North Road. It was all a bit too close to home for my liking.

Take care everyone.

Well boy just got home, was a bit unsettled by his shift at Yarra Glen.

The enormity of the damage, and the loss of life has hit him, just need to get him to focus on the achievements rather than the negatives, I think he will be OK just need to keep an eye on him in the next day or so.

Wendy is relieved to see him home in one piece, she was a bit worried.

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Sure was a tragedy SUe, glad to hear your house was saved. Isnt it great how community spirit come alive and kicking during a disaster!

Mum and Dad were in Maryville last night, they no sooner pulled up and got told to evacuate to the football ground, after speaking with authorities there they were able to get home to Albury if they left straight away. It was terrible not being able to do anything but thank god they made it out of there! I feel terrible for those who had to stay and lost homes, family, livestock, pets.......and to think that it was most likely deliberately lit!!!!

Again, glad to hear you alright and your house was saved!

I realise its a long shot but a friend of mine here in Albury has offered her house here in Albury to anyone who needs it for a period of time, she also stated that she was happy to pay for transportation to Albury should they need that too. Please pass this information onto anyone who may need the assistance from her....

Thinking of you

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
All the best for tomorrow Wendy. Will be thinking of you.

Fires quite close to my place yesterday - stopped about 100m away. Six houses in the neighbourhood gone, plus numerous sheds etc. Spot fires everywhere, next door lost a bit of their backyard, lots of little fires in neighbours yards and fences. We were away, and were getting panicked phone calls from next door neighbour & others. We could not get home, as the Hume was blocked, so just had to hope for the best and trust the locals to keep an eye on things at out place. The community spirit was fantastic, hundreds of people out helping others.

Drove home today through Wandong etc, so many places gone, and thats nothing compared to Kinglake and Marysville of course. Such a tragedy.
