I had my fill on monday, i felt like i had some restriction until today, i have been hungry all day! Now have another month before i can go back, when did you start to feel any restriction?

Question to Everyone out there: Hair Loss, is anyone else suffering from it? I believe its quite common to get it after a band. Im taking swisse multi vit and fish oil tabs but there seems to be a bit coming out. I know that there is a thread on here but when i went in to have a look it was more a b1$ch fest on someone in there that an information forum so if anyone has any ideas, thoughts, help id be very interested

cheers to all
Shan

Oh p00p I didn't see this message before I went. I was there and I met Lynnie and we had a great chat. *waves to Lynnie*

I'll probably go to the next one too so I'll look out for you then. I don't know your name to look out for though? I was the only Tracie there tonight, can you look out for me next time?

Sarah - I love you xxxxxx

I had not looked closely at the red Mars bars. I generally try to stay away from that aisle. I thought the red must have been extra strength LOL.

Hi Tracey, yes Mars bars lite are no longer being marketed under that name, now they are called Mars Red bars! They are in a red wrapper, taste good too! Hope this has helped you, Cheers, Sarah Gould

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
HI Tracey,

Sorry, no can do tomorrow night. I stupidly agreed to enter some stuff into the Berwick Show, so I will be home making sausage rolls, lite Mars bar slice and piklets.

BTW - it appears that lite Mars bars are no longer being made. I have had all sorts of trouble buying them this week. I am famous for my lite Mars bar slice. Gee, the only thing I can cook well, and I can't get the ingredients :(

Shan, hope that restriction kicks in for you! And half a kilo is great. I am sort of terrified, that will probably get worse between now and June. But every time I see my stomach I want it done yesterday. Hubby agreed on the basis that I won't whinge about 'what the hell have I done' immediatey after the op. I don't like his chances LOL

Cheers
Sue

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi everyone

sorry for the short reply the other day, was literally walking out the door to leave for Melbs. Will def make myself available next time an offer for coffee or what ever comes up

After all of my worrying i managed to loose 1/2kg, not much but a loss none the less! Also, Richard was wonderful today and gave me 1.5mls, now surely thats got to make some sort of difference. I now have 4.5mls in a 10ml band.....bring on the weight loss i say!!!

I hope all of you are having a sensational day

Sue: Awesome news that you get to stay in Melbs, how are you felling about it all?

Chat soon

I reckon she probably did! But if it made her feel good, thats the main thing. He may think that it improves the healing in his patients!

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
my friend from work had a tummy tuck a few years ago, a private hospital in malvern but i know it wasnt cabrini. when she woke she had a dozen long stemmed roses delivered from her surgeon. she was very impressed, however i wondered if she had basically paid for them herself in his fees.

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Richard is based in Hawthorn, and operates at Cabrini. His out of pocket is $6700. I am still waiting on the quote for the anethetist, and I'm sure 5 hours of anethetising won't be cheap. So, yes, dearer than the Adelaide surgeon, whose out of pocket was $2000. But, I worked out, with anethetist, assistant, airfares, accomodation and extras, it would have cost me about $4500, and that was just for the tummy, I would have the same again for the back half, so if you look at it like that, it works out about the same.

And I am more comfortable with being in Melbourne, and also with this surgeon, which counts for a lot. He reckons I am a good candidate, as he does many banded patients, and many only get down to a BMI of 30ish, whereas mine is nearly 25 (half a kg to go!)Apparently I have a narrow waist (hmmm, I've never seen it), so will get a good shape, and there is no fat in the stomach now, only skin.

Sooo... I am terrified of taking this step, and I will wake up and spend the first few hours/days/weeks thinking 'what the hell have I done'? But every time I see my stomach I know I need to do it. Desperately.

Cheers
Sue

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
wow Sue that sound exciting and scary at the same time. Where is Richard Bloom? which hospital will you go to? is he much more expensive than the Adelaide surgeon? I think you are sooooooooooo brave, dont think I could ever go through what you are doing even if i did ever lose enough to be a candidate.

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi all

Sorry to here your news Gary, but stay positive. My hubby was made redundant last year, and it was the best thing that could have happened to him.

Probably can't make it for dinner or coffee tomorrow night. Would have to drag kids along, and not keen to do that on a Sunday night.

Well, I've booked my first plastic surgery. Full body lift with Richard Bloom. (ahhhh, what the hell am I doing???)Saw him during the week, some of you know I checked out other surgeons in Adelaide and Berwick, but I found him to be the best for me, we just 'clicked', and it feels right. It's not til June, so still a bit of time to save up....

Cheers
Sue

Hi Shan, what time are you coming down tomorrow night? Will it be early enough to do a catch up for a meal/coffee tomorrow night anyone out there? Where will you be staying? I think the first time you stayed at vermont so I guess we could meet at a pub or cafe somewhere out that way. any takers?
