Hi all

What a busy day I've had. You can get so much done when your home alone..... Today I washed walls in 3 rooms, defrosted the freezer, decided I needed a cupboard for the laundry..... so went and bought one, put it together and rearranged the laundry, changed all the beds, vacuumed, dusted, mopped...... and the list goes on. I feel great because I have achieved so much today.....tomorrow, however, I know I will be sore and sorry. Oh well tomorrow is another day..... he he he he

Michelle, you scream if you want to..... I think you have every right. You poor thing, there must be an end to all of this for you soon.... Keep your chin up, you've come so far already.

Garry no matter how much older we are than the kids, they will always think they know more and better...... It is good when we prove them wrong.... he he he he he Congratulations to your son on his apprenticeship.

Phillipa congrats. to your family for their achievements as well. It must come down to fabulous parenting.

Well I'm just going to wash my dishes from dinner (one plate, one fork) shouldn't take long, then I'm going to watch the tennis.

Joke for today...

The bride came down the aisle and when she reached the altar, the groom was standing there with his golf bag and clubs at his side.

She said, "What are you doing with those?"

He looked her in the eye and said, "This isn’t going to take all day, is it?"

men!!! What can i say! We love them though

well evening all - where to start...

Michelle, thinking of you and let's hope the discussions on Tuesday get things happening - see another set of eyes does help!

News - #3 son got into Monash Engineering as he wanted so now the whole lot of us will be Monash grads! Wants to specialise in Chemical engineering. SO no more high school and another at Uni.

#2 son doing well out of home but coming regularly for food drops - we seem not to be eating so much (womnder why LOL) but still make hugh meals!

# 1 son still in QLD and enjoying th work but coming home on Feb 8th.

Stepson may be on the road to an apprenticeship at last

Stepdaughter got a job teaching at Yarra Valley, in her methods - not like last year teaching other stuff.

So all seems to be well inour house...

Hi All

Terri, boy finally let us help him with his resume and cover letter on the weekend and to a lesser extent last week and surprise, surprise we have had two interviews since and a job offer as an apprentice motor mechanic which he has excepted then had to cancel other interviews he had appointments for.

Funny he seems to think we may have known a little about what we were talking about. Hope he does well he is a good kid.

Saw Chris today. He thinks i have a functional problem with my stomach (it's not working....ya think??!!) so he feels that dilatations are now a waste of time and thinks Richard and i need to discuss either putting in a stint or having a bypass. He has me on Buscopan as a last ditch effort to get the stomach pumping and doing its job but i have been there and done it previously and it did nothing so i wont be holding my hopes up on that one!! I'm willing to try it though as Richard is not back until Monday and i have an appointment with him on Tuesday morning at The Valley rooms.

So it looks as if it might be major surgery for this lil duck (frowning and feeling pretty down right now)

I JUST WANT IT FIXED..............PLEASE ............Is that too much to ask???

Sorry for shouting (my poor kids and hubby have been copping it all week!! Poor puddings!

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Mandy,
I don't envey you feeding so many teenage boys I think they eat more than a grown man as they still have all those raging hormones that need feeding!!!!
You are such a kind sole that always has extras at your house.

On another note I am having my hair cut and coloured on Saturday morning so I will not be able to make the breakfast ladies and gents but I do hope to be at the next meeting on Feb 4th at Knox.

I am cooking dinner for a friend on Wednesday night ..... any good band friendly recipes that anyone wants to share??? (also something impressive that I can whip up with minimal fuss as I don't want to spend all the time in the kitchen......... a girl has to drink and entertain too!!) Sharon I did think about serving pasta but I would be laughing all night as it would be pasta for pasta and I did cook pasta last week for the guest (of the food variety ***snort***snort***snort* *). hehehehehehe

I hope everyone is feeling good.

Hi there

Jane it does show us how much we need the band, I think sometimes we think we can do it without now we have lost weight, I was the same when I had fill out. Good luck with the port reposition, at least you will be more comfortable.

I think most of us will want to keep the name the same which is fine by me, just wanted to point out that when Yahoo do decide to make a new one for us it will be the same name plus #2 so we won't have a choice if we did want to change anything.

What a lovely day, think I need a good book and a sit in the sun, that's once I have unpacked the weekly shop (what a shock when I had to pay, we have four teenage boys here at the moment and boy can they eat!!), hate this part.

Take care
Mandy

Just my opinion but I don't think we need to make another thread before yahoo tells us???? I think we should just keep it the same and as it has always been, you don't have to be from Knox to post we welcome anyone!

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi there to all,

I went to see Chris Hensman yesterday and got 3mls of my 4ml put back in and I had put on 1 kilo in the one week I had no restriction, just shows to me how important of a tool the band is and its a lifetime thing.
Anyhoo while I was there I have also rebooked to have my port moved on the 14th of February 2008 at the Valley hospital. I now cannot lay on my lefthand side on the side as it hurts too much with the port pushing on my ribs. My port is now fully on its side up against my rib cage and not laying flat due to the weight loss and skin movement. Just another journey hey!!!!!

Hi all

Michelle good luck today with your appointment, something has to happen you can't go on like this and keep posting we hope we can help you just a little bit.

I wonder if we should consider a new name including 'Endosurgery' or is that too much advertising?

Have a great day everyone.

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
I must say that i was hesitant about posting here originally as i was banded at The Valley so was unsure whether i would get the support etc. I'm glad i tried tho but i think perhaps the Valley should be added into a new name so that other Valley patients feel that they have somewhere to go for support, answers, advice, friendship and everything i have gained from this thread.

I'm off to see Mr Hensman tomorrow at the valley consulting rooms so wish me luck (or perhaps wish him luck. I am tired, malnourished and p!ssed off!!)

Good night guys and gals and as always, thank you for your ongoing support. It helps get me through each day at the moment.

Michelle.

Just noticed Yahoo has closed 'General Chat 3' and opened a new one. Do you think we should consider starting a new thread before we get this one forceably closed? If so should we include The Valley in title or stick to what we know?

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi Tracey

The answer is 'DO IT' to both things!! Priscilla was so good, vibrant and exciting, I think you will love it. You can't live on mushies, if you have given it a while and you are still unable to move on to solid food you must have some fill out. Ring Cheryl now, go on......

Let me know how you go.

Mandy,
I am trying to decide whether to go to priscilla. I am thinking of having some fill out, coz I can only eat mushies, everytime I have solid food it comes up again.

Michelle
I hope 2008 will be a much better year for you.

Shelly
Enjoy the peace and quiet.

My daughter has had her wound closed up yesterday, hopefully coming home tomorrow, will have to have hospital in the home for her iv antibiotics.

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi everyone

Just about to jump in the shower and start on the list of "things to do today".

I miss my family. I was soooooo looking forward to "me" time and now I have it I don't want this much of it...... he he he he....... I'm sure I'll get over it once I hit the road.

My daughter called last night and is having a great time, but misses me (so she says). The boys are doing fine without me although ring at least 3 times a day. I think they miss me too, but they won't admit it...... he he he

Ok enough I need to get ready

Oh unfortunately I will be heading back to Echuca before Saturday, so I won't be able to make breakfast..... :(

Have a great day eveyone

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
oops forgot the joke...

BUTLERS NIGHT OFF
A wealthy couple planned to go out for the evening. The Woman of the house decided to give the Butler, Jeeves, the rest of the night off. She said they would be home very late and that he should enjoy his evening.

As it turned out, however, the Wife wasn't having a good time at the party, so she came home early, alone. her husband had to stay there, as several of his important clients were there.

As the Woman walked into the house, she saw Jeeves sitting by himself in the dining room, she called for him to follow her and led him into the master bedroom, she then closed and locked the door.

She looked at him and smiled, ' Jeeves ' she said, ' Take off my dress', he did this carefully 'Jeeves she continued ' Take off my stockings and garters. ' He silently obeyed her, 'Jeeves she then said, ' remove my my bra and panties' As he did this, the tension continued to mount.

She looked at him and then said,' Jeeves, if I ever catch you wearing my clothes again your fired.

Cheers Phillipa

Hi Michelle
For some reason I missed your comments - they weren't there last time I looked and now they are - thank you for explaining to me what happened re your band - OMG I can't get over it - I guess some people's bodies do just reject foreign objects in a huge way and yours was one of them - I'm sorry to hear you have had to go through so much trauma! I mean you get explained the risks etc before the op but you still just never expect yourself to go through so much pain and suffering eh? I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this and I wish you every single solitary bit of luck and great healing and success for the future and that you can continue your weight loss journey free from pain and any more trauma.
Take care and hope to meet you one day

Hi there

Just a quickie after last feed, Priscilla was FANTASTIC, I loved every minute of it, highly recommended if anyone likes musicals. Quite true to the movie including Bill Hunter! Can't speak highly enough of it.

Sharon, it is funny to start thinking about chewing etc again, amazing how quickly you can get out of the habit but the good old band makes sure you do the right thing! The baby is just gorgeous and doing very well although still smaller than most new borns at eight weeks old! I think I should be able to make breakfast Saturday, I will watch for details.

Take care everyone
