Hi Trace
to meet others in the flesh so to speak would be great. My only days off are Sundays and Mondays as I work 6am to 12.30pm. Have recently met a lady here in Colac who was banded in August but our work hours clash so I don't get to meet up with her. I will keep my eye on this thread to see future lunch dates. Thank you for the invite
Keep smiling
Miss Kitty

Hey Linda,
I am pretty free during the day. Work is fairly flexible - I just need to work around my kinder girl. But can generally ask my sister to mind her.
Thanks for replying so quickly! I look forward to meeting you!

I was wondering if you stil get together for lunch? I'd love to meet up with you.
I got my fill a week early and have had another since then. All going well so far with that now. Havent had a huge loss, but have joined the gym now so am hoping for a steady weight loss from now.
This has been a very quiet thread - so I hoipe someone sees me!!

Hi Trace, in a word NO. His nurse Jo used to be able to do fills and unfills but they had an insurance problem and that stopped. I heard he was training another doctor to do the surgery but I don't know where that is at at the moment. He is going on holidays so that is why your wait is longer than usual.

Hi Girls,
I was banded by DrD in early may and have had good experiences and been happy with it. I have lost about 11 kg, but am now at a complete plateu - so am waiting patiently for my next appointment in 7 weeks!! Does any one know if there are any other options to get fills if Dr D is too booked out. Any suggestions appreciated.

Dana
Thats great, thank you :) We have a house there already and are moving things up slowly - should be there within 2 weeks! My son and his girlfriend have rented a place and are moving there today.

OMG, you will have a newborn soon - so bound to make me feel very, very clucky!!

Fantastic news about finding a doctor for fills - and will definately be getting his details from you. I dont want to change from my surgeon in Melbourne, but its great to know someone close by incase of problems.

Yay, a local bandit!! :)

Hi Julie,
Would love to catch up when you get up here. My email is danahcam@yahoo.com.au send me an email when you arrive and we'll meet up for a coffee. Although i may go off the radar for a little while as i am 8 1/2mnths pregnant and due to give birth in August. I've also just found out that there is a GP up here that can do fills. Mr Deutscher has ok'ed it so i now don't have to travel to Ballarat to get a fill. YEAH!!!!!!
Anyway look forward to hearing from you.

'camdanabailey' - was just wondering whether you are still reading these boards? I noticed last year you were on here talking about having the band by Dr Deutscher in Ballarat as you live in Horsham. I am moving to Horsham and thought it would be great to meet up :)

A banana is not a good idea after a fill. It can be hard work at the best of times. It is best to stick to fluids or soft foods for at least 12 hours after a fill. At least your port is accessible so that is good news.

Linda - thanks for replying - I had fill today and this is the way to go hey! lol It was so easy and I felt no pain - i was thinking it was gonna hurt etc. but a breeze - He put in 1.5mls - I already had 1.8mls which i was not aware of having - so i have now 3.3mls - I have just finished work and im a bit apprehensive of eating -I had a banana at work about 4 hours post fill and it is floating down the sewer somewhere - so -might have a cuppa and let it be for the night -
Cheers

Re:Ballarat and surrounds support Reply to this message
Hi Patti, quite a few people have to have fills under xray in the beginning. Once you have lost weight they can find the port easier. Unless of course it has tilted. Let us know how you get on.

Cheers

Re:Ballarat and surrounds support Reply to this message
Hi Allison - I just discovered this forum from Ballarat and I read your comment back in Feb. I was not banded until 3rd April this year and since then I go to Aquatic centre almost daily so if you are a regular at your aqua running I am sure I have seen you - I just love the pool and as i said i go almost daily now and swim up/back 80laps - it takes me ages 1-2 hours but I have lost 13kgs now and I credit it to the pool so If you are still going - i'd love to support ya -I go for my first fill today - and as i said in other post I cant wait -
Cheers - Patti
