| What is the receptionists problem?????? I can not believe how rude they are down there. Have they forgotten that we are paying a great deal of money for this surgery and without us they would not have a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for the rant but I can't stand bad customer service and those girls dont seem to know the meaning of common courtesy. Dana |

| I think I got your appointment today!! He was sooo busy. He gave me a card that said 2 weeks and the nurse spat it. She said there is no way I can get in for that time. I said, I have to work something out, cause he couldnt fill me and I havent had my first fill yet. She grumbled at me, then gave me 5pm on 24th june. I think it was a tack on. Because its the first fill, I think he wants to do it. Is there someone else that can do the fills in Ballarat? If this is a sign of things to come, its gonna be really hard to or gan ise our lives! | Ohhh Claud that sounds revolting. I have only heard of him then sending you to xray to have the fill when he can't find the port. I have heard of someone else having something a bit similar. I think it was Pyretta. You can ask her on her thread. Linda |

| Hi Guys, Today I went for my first post opp appointment with Dr D. I asked for a fill, (for truth be told I can almost eat as much as before now). I am still down 7kg, but its hard work to not pig out. Anyhoo, layed down to get the fill, and he jabbed me about 10 times, then changed to a BIGGER needle!! Still couldn't find it. What he did find was a large amount of blood stained fluid around the port. Probably about half a cup full. Anyway after he drained it off, he said I have to come back in two weeks to get the fill. Did anyone else have that problem? |

| I agree Linda, I have already had 6 fills since mid-Feb. If I was paying at each visit, I would be heaps out of pocket! Shaz |

| One thing you have to be careful with is the cost of fills. From what I gather Dr Winnett charges $165 for a fill whether you are private or public. That is about $35 over the going rate so for every fill you are out around $65. With a clinic such as the avenue. All your fills and any remedial surgery down the track is bulk billed. So it is something you have to weigh up very carefully and ask all the questions at first so you don't get any nasty surprises. You might have as many as 8 fills in the first year. Linda |

| Hi April, i had my surgery in melb, by Mr. Nottle, from getting my referral from my g.p, to getting the band done a total of 7 weeks. That included dietician, heart specialist and sleep test in royal melb. That was 9 months ago, and i couldnt be happier. Total loss is 35 kgs. I go to The Ave for my fills, but had surg at Western Private in footscray. All the best, Elaine |

| oh wow, im not alone. Well i made an appointment, with a Dr in Melbourne...in 3 weeks! I spoke to the receptionist, and she was positive, that this time in 3 months i would be living with a band :O Although i knew it would be quicker than ballarat, but i wasnt expecting it that quick! |
