Hi all,
I cant believe it's been a whole year since Ive been banded.
My daily life has changed soo much.. I no longer feel I have to diet and also no longer feel I have no control of what I eat. I can honestly say this has been the best and easiest year ever,
good luck to everyone else taking this journey,
Lisa. |

Hi all,
Nina congrats on the weight loss. Way to go Girl..
I have no weight loss to report again, but l am still under 90 kilo so l am still celebrating, l am loving living in the 80's. I spent the afternoon yesterday at the pool with the kids, OMG l was so tired last night, I am so unfit its not funny. I was hoping for a better result today, but l guess 1 swim isnt going to make the weight fall off. I wish.... lol.
Have a great week

Gosh...have to take time later and reply, sorry in a hurry at the moment. Popping in for the weigh-in, and I'm at 97.2kg's today so loss of 2.2kg's. Now only if I'd lose that amount without stacking it on the week before!
Chat later guys,

Hi Di, hi all,
Just thought for a bit of fun would add up all your weight losses together you guys and gals have lost a whopping 494.3 kgs thats almost half a tonne. Wow!!!!!!
It would be wonderful if we new April bandits in a years time could do a tremendous job as each of you have done.
Well its 1 and a half weeks post op now for Hayley and I and we are both doing fine. Hoped on the scales this morning and I am dead on 100 kgs, which for me has been a safety barrier, wall, call it what you like, for at least 5yrs now, so I am excited to finally almost smash that barrier down once and for all.
To date from my first appt. I have now lost 8.8kgs and Hayley is down 10.1 as of 2 days ago so we are going great guns.
George has his date for surgery which is the 21st May, so not long now for him also.
Just wanted to thanks to all of you for your support and kind thoughts and advice, look forward to seeing and hearing that each of you have reached your goal weights wahooo.
Best wishes,
Gerry |

Good morning everyone!!!!!!!!
Everyone has done sooooooooooooooooooooooo well!!! So proud of each and every one of us fabulous April Bandits!! It is just so good. Who would have thought a year ago where we would all be today - whether you have lost 5kgs or 50kgs we've all made a huge committment to ourselves and our families. I read a fantastic quote - "If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, get up and turn it on yourself". I think that is just bloody brilliant and is what we have all done. And what we will continue to do as we adjust to our new life.... Gawd - there I go - rambling again......... just can't help myself can I??
Hope that you all have a fantastic day today. RIP all the diggers - We will Remember Them - Lest We Forget.

Hi Kazza,
I didnt work out my goal weight my surgeon did, he said between 64 - 77 kilo would be normal weight range for me. So l ran with the larger number. I will wait and see when l get there what l think about a new goal. At 75 Kilo my BMI would be 29.3 within the over weight range.
At 64 kilo l would have a BMI of 25.0 just in the overweight range, so who knows.
I am in need of a tummy tuck already so l dont know what l will look like when l get to my goal. I have already talked to a surgeon about one, will book in next time l am there to see him.
Surgeon told me that after being so over weight for so long no amount of excerise was going to get rid of my flabby tummy. Just great

Hi trish
how did you work out your goal weight
i am 159cm and the bmi says i should be 64/65kg
i can never imagine getting down to that weight
i am hoping/thinking that 70kg
may be a good number will have to Waite and see what i feel like/look like
have you much loose skin and what exercise are you doing to help
i feel i will need a tummy tuck well may be more than a little one but the cost and pain is keeping me back so am thinking some exercises may help
not one really for exercising but may have to now
yes i know a lot of questions hope you don't mind

Nina,
My scales didnt seem to be working there for a few weeks, but that was after l had some of my fill removed, they have started to go down again now. I wish they would go down quicker but down slow is ok with me, because at least its down.
By this time next year we should all be at our goal weight, so hard to believe that 12 months ago l was over 45 kilo heavier, how did l ever get any thing done or for that matter move at all with all that extra weight. One of my best friends weighs 57 kilo, OMG l have nearly lost her in weight.

12kg's to goal Trish...so proud of you! I still have 24kg's to go to get to 75 which is my goal, and I'm 174cm (5ft9). You know what girl, we have been keeping each other accountable now for 6 whole months with weekly weigh-ins. I made a chart of my weight loss and it's going down...no matter HOW slow! But I agree with you in saying that it would be nice to be close to goal... 2kg's ...amazing.. and yes, it'll happen to both of us too :-)

Hi Mermaid,
your so lucky, only 2 kilo from goal. I still have around 12 Kiol to go.
Started at 135 kilo
Surgery day 119.0 Kilo
and today l am 89.5 Kilo
Goal weight is 77 Kilo.
I am only 160cm tall/short lol.
I think by then l should be around a size 12 at the moment l am a size 16. I cant wait to be so close to goal.
I havent had as many regular fills as l should have because of the distance l had to travel. I wait until my girlfriends are going as well and we make it a day out not just a fill trip.

Hey Trish,
I live in country SA 400 kms from Adelaide. As no one really knows about bands here I am not letting anyone near it!!!!I luv my GP but she knows nothing about bands, my surgeon wants to come to my area and do info sessions on them. I really hope he does, cause like you say there are more and more people getting the band. I still would not change a thing, got 2kgs to my goal, woooohoooo, luving it!!!

Hi Mermaid,
I have a question where abouts are you? Your fill trip sounds like mine its a full day out. It takes me 4 hours to get to surgeon and another home again, l hate it but you got to do what is best for the band.
I am in south west vic.
Thought l should also fill you in on how friend got on, turns out her Gp had started her on a different type of medication and the side effects are stomach cramps and also swollowing problems, not a good thing to have when you have a band let alone at all, she has since stopped the meds and is getting better. Again l have to ask why is that so many pople get bands and so many doctors know nothing about them, she could have ended up really sick.
Take care

Me again! Back from a fill, went without drama, first jab and it was in. Yay! Got 0.5ml's and we'll keep adding 0.1-0.2 every 2 weeks till restriction is back...I so don't want another overfill or blockage of any sorts. You gals know what I'm taking about, hey Trish and Mermaid!
