I've also stalled, even though yesterday I some sort of virus and I was vomiting for a while, but didnt eat a lot. I was hoping to get to 40kg by Mothers Day but dont think I'll make it now. I'm still happy with my progress tho especially when i see people who havent seen me for a while and they are amazed at how I look.

Trish you are a wealth of information, 1 cup of fluids can make that much of a difference? I never knew that... yeah my weight loss has stalled again, don't think I'm eating enough but physically can't more at the moment....have a fill appointment wednesday week so might have to take a bit out again. Fiddly little things these bands are!
Have a fantastic week everyone,

Hi Nina,
I am sitting on about the same 89.8 kilo for the last 2 weeks.
Thought l would have gained this week after having fill removed and being able to eat lost more food.
I couldnt do weigh in yesterday as l was out all day and left home very early and never got home till late.
Memaid l try not to worry about 500 grams weight gain doctor told me that the difference that 1 cuppa can make.
Take Care

Hi Gerry,
I was banded on Apr 9th and although initially lost 3kg, have now put 1 back on. My husband says this is normal as I'm now actually eating real food. He's already been through this phase so he says it's nothing to really get stressed over and as he says: the only scales that really count are the ones in the doctor's office. My first fill has been postponed from the 8th to the 13th of May...no big deal, but I'm obliged to bring the birthday cake that day to my sewing group. Typical eh? She who now can't have cake has to bring it LOL. |

Hey everyone!
Trish - so pleased that you are feeling better! It is hard to live 'normal' when this is happening hey? And that's all we want isn't it? Hopefully your weightloss will kick in again for you now.
Mermaid - that is a huge move to have your hair chemically straightened!!! I have brought a hair straigtener and for the first time EVER i actually blowdry and straighten my hair every morning!! I have also turned into a girly girl which is so very different for me. Must say hubby likes it though!! 66kgs - wow - just awesome!!!!
I had bit of a moment yesterday. My jeans have been getting a bit uncomfortable and having to pull them up all day. So I tried on size 10 and they fit!! Can't believe I even thought about trying them on in the first place and now they are in my wardrobe!! So I now think that I am done. Less than a kilo to go but I'm pretty happy where I am and don't want to go to a smaller size. Size 10 was never really an option - was always size 12 as my goal. So looks like this part of the journey is nearing the end - and like you Mermaid I'm ready for the next phase of maintaining!!
Have a great weekend everyone. Off to Mackay today so will chat when we get back.
Take care
Di

Hi Gerry
Plenty of people put weight on again during the mushies stage. You have gone from a VLCD and then liquids to having 'food' again. As much as it probably doesn't feel like food - it is!! haha....
Don't be disheatened as it will start to come off again. It is totally normal for this to happen.
Good luck and you are doing really well so - give the body time to heal before you start stressing.
Cheers

Hi guys and gals,
I have a question, can you explain why we new april bandits are either holding onto our weight or not loosing while on the mushie stage. I have tried to find a thread on this but have not found anything. I have noticed looking back through the Mushie's Stage thread that others experienced the same issue.
Can you also tell us when you started to loose, as I think some of the people on our forum are fretting a little.
I know Hayley is disheartened, I sort of am, but I have read many others in the same situation so was wondering if it is normal.
Thanks heaps,
Gerry |

Hi Purple
walking helps with the shoulder pain, keep up the pain meds and try de-gas tablets. Keep sipping away at your drinks, try to avoid gulping them in. You could also try a hot pack on the shoulder as well.
Hope this helps. |

Hi Mermaid,
I feel really good today, no aches or pains for the band, I wasnt loosing weight while band was tight. Doctor thinks this is because l have an under active thyoid gland so l need to keep the metabolism going other wise every thing shuts down.
Hard to believe that we are in our 2nd year of banding isn't it, feels like yesterday.
I ate a stir fry vegies for tea last night and it made me really full on a small amount but with out the PBing. .
This journey is great and the people on this thread and excellent.
I am jealous that you are TINY, l still have a way to go, but l am getting there slwoly and surely.
Take Care

Hi Sexy Ladies,
Glad you got that one sorted out Trish, I was like that for 5 weeks and lost 8 kilos, felt and looked like cr@p. I was overfull and now it is all good, infact I put half a kg back on cause I am loving my homemade pea and ham soup, lol. It is the most substanstial thing that I have had to eat in a very long time.
Life is pretty good, had my very long curly locks cut off to a very short chemically straighted hairstyle, I luv it and everyone can not believe the difference in me. People think I look tiny, I have never been tiny, woooohoooooo! luving this journey even with all of it's up and downs. I am about 66 kgs now and don't really want to lose anymore. Bring on the next phase.
Gonna have a huge girls night out tomo, and can not wait. I have always been confident but now I am unstopable!!!
Take care all you lovely peeps, will pop in again soon!!
Mwaaahhhhhh

Hi Nina,
I spoke to doctor today about my cycle and the band, he said that when you are due for your period that the stomach lining swells up and this is why we retain fluid which also makes the band tighter.
My problem has been going on for about 2 weeks now, started off small and then the consitpation, tried every thing to fix that.
I was eating no roughage and not enough good food to make my system go.
He reminded me of the rules
1. 6 small meals per day
2. each meal should be good quality food ( no junk)
3. Drink plenty of water
4. Move around more(excerise).
I now only have 1.5 mil in my band to give it time to heal because l have been PB ing so much, l have to go back in a month for a small top up, if l follow the rules other wise he wont put the fill in.
Lunch today never tasted so good, but since then l have been feeling empty and hollow and the only way to make the pain go away is to eat. (help) I have tried to be good, by having a fresh fruit snack, Doctor thinks that l should be ok because less fill and 6 meals will make my metabolism get going again. Heres hoping anyway.
Thanks for caring
Trish |

Sorry guys been too busy lately, all this running around is starting to get in the way of FUN!
First Gem, good for you for getting rid of the baggage! If he was weighing you down and making you unhappy, all the power to you!!! Enjoy the newly found freedom :-)
Lisa it's been an amazing journey hasn't it :-) How has your weight loss been?
Gerry and Hayley so good to hear you are both traveling well, you are doing so good, really proud of you both!
Trish what on earth happened? Do you think you had a little blockage or the overfill slowly crept back? Don't know HOW it happens but it does happen...I'm in the same boat, starting to struggle with "good" foods and it's really annoying. Has anyone ever explained it to you, when you go from being fine to a week later having an overfill? I'd like to know! Bet that lunch tasted good...lol...fingers crossed it's smooth sailing from now on love.
Di what a fantastic idea! You'd be in your element too, you have such a positive vibe about you and it's really contagious...and the results of your banding speak for themselves! Good luck with it all babe and keep us up to date :-)

Hi all,
I thought l was the only one that was away from the thread seems we have all been missing in action.
I havent had much fun in the last week or so, I have been having trouble with my food going in so l was only eating mushies then l got into trouble with constipation which wasnt any fun. So l got myself going again, but still couldnt get good food in so l have been living on yogart and coffee for around a week.
I was waiting for a time to see doctor, which they called yesterday, so today l have had some fill removed and a lecture from Doctor about looking after myself better. Nothing l didnt know l just got busy and thought it would pass, but as the days went on it got worse, not better.
So l am having lunch now, the first solid food that l have eaten in days and boy does it taste great. lol
Its amazing that even after having the band for 12 months l still havent quite got it right.
I am feeling much better already.
Take care

Hi all....
We've all been a bit quiet the last few days ~ must be out having a life!! I've got 1.1kgs to go - oh so close I can taste it!! But I am going away this long weekend so it will probably be a bit more than that by the time I get back!! Shannon & I are heading to Mackay to catch up with friends. I haven't seen most of them for 15-40 kilos so it should be a good weekend!! I've meet 2 new bandsters this past weekend and I'm off to meet an about to be banded tonight. I've been looking into doing my "Certificate in Weight Loss Management" so that I can start a business up here in Townsville to help others. Been chatting to a banding friend about it and we are starting to develop a business plan. Certainly think that it is something we could both do. Not full time but start slowly and see what happens. There is so much more out there about banding etc and the more we can help the better!! Anyways - watch this space....Take care everyone and we will chat soon.......
Hope that everyone is feeling fantastic and loving life!!
Di
