| Ive gained 3 kilos!! Ive been very slack about exercising and ive been eating too much, its time to get my head in the game, i think!! I think the whole opti and liquid stage did my head in so ive kinda broken out eating all the things i know i shouldnt but just craving the taste! band camp couldnt come sooner for me!! Will hopefully get me in the right frame of mind to kcik things off and get serious about it. Plus im in need of a fill as i have no restriction at all at the moment. Im thinking i wont need much as the last fill felt great but only lasted for a few days, so i think a ml or so will see me right for quite a while. | Wow....l was banded the same day as Gem and am still waiting for my first fill.....nearly 41/2 wks later...going in to have it Fri night....so that will be good...as wt has not dropped for a over 2 weeks now...very frustrating.... Tried a bite of a mini spring roll tonight and immediately and for the first time...felt that burning tightness in the chest and throat and after about 5 mins..threw up - not nice..it really is trial and error isnt it.... Hope my fill on Fri goes well...dont know what happens the first time,,,,but cant wait for the weight to start dropping off again.... Hope all the April bandits are doing well ..Apologies for not being on for a while my elderly mum passed away 2 weeks ago...so have had the stress of that to deal with... Cheers..Kathy |

| Thats strange hey! He injucted me and said tell me when u feel tight in your chest and then took some out and asked if it felt ok? then made me drink a glas of water to make sure i could swallow water with no problems it didnt hurt at all no burning. |

| hats what i was thinking on the way home today.because he was digging around trying to find the port that he thought he got it and missed and the saline went nowhere but into stomach and that why it was burning.i have to go back in three weeks so will find out then.thanks for replying i just thought someone might have had the same feeling. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Im wondering if he just shot the fill into no-mans land, hence the burning sensation. | Im afraid that my experience was the total opposite of that, it took one attempt and there was absolutely no pain and felt restricted straight away. | hi guys well i have just had my first fill today and have a question.is it suppose to really burn and sting when the doctor is putting the actual fill in.it took him six goes to find the port and then when he said thats it and put my 3 mls in it started burning.i wasnt game to ask him cause he was getting frustrated with my port.also i feel no different and can eat normal as usual.dont feel like i have even had the band put in.any help would be great thanks. |

| Hey Gem - you'll have to use that for new clothes!!! I haven't claimed mine back yet....just had no time to get to the healthfund and medicare....argh... will have to do it soon cause the old bank balance is looking pretty sad after all this... | I am happy for you that your fill works well ms_in I only had .5ml done on Monday but I don't think it is enough, I am going to make another appointment for next week and see if I can get just a little more. I now have 4.5ml in my band. |

| Howdy, I have 3mls (put in at surgery) in a 10ml band. I don't really want to much more fill... Well maybe only a little bit. I am so excited today I managed to eat a cheese and vegemite tosted sanga (no crusts). My first real attempt at bread. It took me almost 1 1/2 hours to eat (but I was at my desk and on and off the phone). I know that is way to long to eat and I should just stop after 1/2 hour but i was quite excited that I could get it down and it feels pretty good. so far anyway. No PB's for me...and I would like to keep it that way. Cheers Soph |

| Hi Trish Congrats on your fantastic weight loss!! You are doing so well... a real inspiration... I was banded on April 4 and am now sitting at 12.8kgs which I'm pretty happy with. That includes 4kgs of opti. So I'm a happy camper just like you and haven't had any probs at all..... Fee - I've got everything crossed for you and sending positive vibes your way.... | Hi all, thought l would pop in and tell you all how l have been going. I was banded on the 3rd April. pre optifast weight 135 kilo day of surgery 119 kilo today's weight 112.5 kilo which is a loss of 22.5 all up. Yippee I have had 2 fills so now l have 1.75 mil in my 6 mil band. I have had no PBing and l feel really good. I havent lost much since the op but we have been away on holidays, which always makes things hard, but l am happy with how it is all going. Hope every one else is going great. Cheers Trish |

| Hi di, no new date yet. Apparently I may have to see the surgeeon again to 'discuss' what to do. Not sure what that means and am freaking out that they are not going to do it now because my immunity is so bad. Yesterday I was ready to give up but saw 2 girls (deb and Jen) after their op yesterday and has made me more determined than ever now. Sooooo frigging frustrated!! Gem, keep going girl. | Hi Cath I had 2ml in my band at operation, then I had 2ml fill at 3 weeks (I thought it was 1 but doctor said yesterday that it was 2). Then I went for fill yesterday and he only put in .5ml. He did not want to do more as he said I have to wait a week and see how it settles, if after a week or 2 I am hungry inbetween I can go back for top up. I told him I am relying on willpower at the moment and he said that defeats the purpose of the band as willpower is good but not sustainable and we need to keep working on getting the correct amount of fill (slowly over time) until I don't need to rely on willpower as the band is suppose to do that. I have good restriction now and could not eat much for breakfast this morning. The doctor expects it to last 3 weeks. He also told me that most people reach the sweet spot around 5 - 7 ml in 10ml band but he says it is better to work up to that slowly to prevent problems. |

| Hi Cath I am also eating way too much. I am up a little on the scales as well and I am not a happy camper so to speak. My surgeon also doesn't put any fill in when he puts the band in. I got my 1st fill 2 weeks ago where he put 3ml in a 12ml band. I rang yesterday to see if I can get a fill this thursday, as my next appointment was 2 months away and I would hate to think how much weight I would put back on in that time. So I will just have to wait to see if I can get in on thursday. Also I see my dietitian this thursday as well and I am not looking forward to that especially if the scales are going up each day.
