Dear Wishful thinking
First things first, you might want to discuss how you are feeling with your doctor either your surgeon or your gp. If you are suffering from undiagnosed depression that can make the effort of "doing" things seem almost insurmountable. Professional help is a MUST!
Second up you really need to stop being so hard on yourself. It's early days into your journey and finding the "sweet spot" of restriction and getting yourself into a good head space takes time, effort and committment. Many people dont lose weight immediately, as many different people on this board is how many different stories of "the journey" there is. It's different for every single person.
Please talk to your doctor about how you are feeling, it's a solid first step.
With lots of warm encouragement
Ellee

Keep your head up wshful_thinking! It can be hard...very hard at times. Firstly I have to ask, have you spoken to a psycholgist. Weight loss issues can be very complicated. I am a believer that if the head isn't in it, the weight isn't going to shift.Maybe also talking to a dietician may also help :) I would be more than happy to be your exercise buddy...where do you live? I found exercise to be very important. I was very embarassed initially do any at all. So I started walking in my very small unit. Just back and forth, back and forth. I reflect on that now and it seems so crazy but it got me moving and now I have joined a gym, go walking most mornings and have so much energy now. Hope that helps! :)

Hi Guys,

I got banded april 15th, lost some weight in the first 4 weeks and then put on some weight 2 weeks before my fill last week.

I feel soo dissapointed with my self. At this point in time i am the exact same weight if not more then when i was when i had the operation, i've put on arround 3 kgs. Why has this happened?

i know i havn't been doing any exercise which isn't good i know, but to be honest since the operation i had been eating alot less, and after the fill im eating even less. I will not lie to my self im not like totally eating like a bird yet, but alot less than what i was eating, im even eating less then my family who are all skinny!!!!

This is really fustrating me and getting me really down and dissapointed. Since my fill i have put on 1 kg. That makes a total of 3 kgs. Im just totally confussed as to why, how, what's happend.

i feel totally lost and confussed why i havnt not only lost any weight but an putting it on. how do i get it off!!! im totally hating my self and gone back into the evil cycle of feeling down.

i want to start doing exercise, but im finding when i get home from work im soo down i just want to sleep and never want to wake up. i really am wanting to find an exersice buddy, to help me and me help them but no one seems to be interested i jus feel like i can not get away from this even weight issue of my life, and i hate it

Hi all, just letting you know that I've just had Lens replacement on one of my eyes, thought that as my weight is coming down I might as well get rid of my glasses too. Bit hard trying to see out of only one eye at the moment, the other one is patched up until this afternoon. The next eye will be done in 2 weeks. I think its hard for a few of us at the moment, could be the cold weather, wanting to comfort eat warm foods. Have a good day everyone

Hi Ellee,
Dont be so hard on yourself, We all know this is not an easy journey and along the way there can be alot of bumbs to try and make us loose sight of what we are trying to achieve. Take a break fro the scales, stick them in a cupboard for a couple of weeks and see what happens.
For me l have decided that l am not on a diet l am eating smaller amounts of healthy food and living life to its fullest.
Take Care and Take the pressure off.

Haha Neens - really don't think it will ever be Gold hot pants!! lol.... and yes - enlargement is implants. There is no maintenance on them. Once they in they in!! and a lovely size too - just have to save up now!!

Trish - no loss but no gain!! So that's a good sign - and I'm sure once the fill is in it will make a big difference to you.

Today was a pretty exciting day!! For those on facebook you will see it - but for those not - sorry - no advertising allowed on here so I can't expand. But - lets just say that there is an exciting new business that was launched today!!! Been lots of planning but I'm sure it will all be good once it's all up and going!

Chat to you all later......

Friggin $13,000! Argh!!!! Umm...might be a bit ignorant here but does enlargement mean implants? I'm 99% sure it does but just want to clarify. What's the upkeep with those? Need like regular check-ups? Naive=me! Good news about the veins, that's just awesome! Can't wait to see piccys of you in gold hotpants :-P

Hi everyone.....

Looks like there are is some interesting stuff happening at the moment! I'm sure that it will all sort its self out soon.....

I went to the plastics doc on Monday. For a cool $13,000 I can have my b00by lift and enlargement! I expected around $10,000. Waiting on a price from Brisbane and then decide what is the best option. Hubby is supportive and said it's up to me but go for it for I want to. Won't be till next year though cause I would have to talk really nicely to my bank manager!! Went to the veins doc and looks like I will be able to get the veins stripped in my leg before summer! It will be the first time forever that I will be comfortable wearing shorts. The doc said that if I was still carrying my weight he would not have touched them so another reason to thank my band.

Got a get together this weekend with a couple of other banded ladies. We are in the middle of starting a new business venture so we are brain storming over the weekend. Watch this space.........

Hope that everyone has a great long weekend and I'm sure we will chat soon.....

Cheers

Di

Re:Anyone Getting Banded in April??? Reply to this message
Lining my behind for kicking too! Exactly the same here too, Evelyn and Trish, after dinner...might just go and check what's in the fridge/pantry. I've locked myself in the bedroom, taped the fridge shut, come on the net to distract myself, started knitting...still hear the call of food. What would be THE thing to do? Guess it's all individual...still haven't found my distraction. If I have visitors I'm fine. Alone time...sigh. It's all about bad habits as far as I know, and it takes 10 days - 2 weeks to reprogram your brain into doing something else. Perhaps hope into FB and have a chat? We are all there hey?

Hi Ev,
sounds like we both need a good kick up the bum. I keep asking myself why l do this to myself but l cant come up with an answer. Oh well l have my little band to help me out.
I try to stay away from chocolate but find l am craving it more and more these days. We have chocolates at the front counter as work, the little bite size ones so if l do have a chocolate its only really little. Just my size these days.

Thanks Trish, I know what you mean, but I'm almost perfect during the day and I dont know what comes over me at night. I ended up getting a packet of delites and have a couple of those when I feel like nibbling, dont have choc in the house otherwise I'll scoff the lot I think with the way I feel. I've felt like that before then all of a sudden it goes away and then I'm OK. Hope that happens soon, lol

Hi Ev,
I am a shocker after tea at night. I try not to eat to much so that l dont PB and end up looking for a snack later. I think the plateau may be because of the cold weather, simply nature looking after us. Hang in there, we know that we can get back on the wagon and keep going. If we were perfect eaters we wouldnt have needed the band.
Take Care Trish

Re:Anyone Getting Banded in April??? Reply to this message
Morning Nina,
Yes l remember the heart ache of a new diet all to well, loose 15 kilos and think l can do this and then you a treat today and tomorrow and before you know it your back to your old habits and you have gained the 15 kilo and a bit more back again, it was the pits...
Well not any more. I had a small fill on Friday so l now have 1.5mil in my 6 mil band l am happy that over the last month of having only 1 mil in the band l have been able to maintain my weight loss.
So today l am weighing in at 98.8 kilo
Still living in the 80's but l am happy.
Take Care and have a great week Trish

Good morning all,

well after c l o c k ing my doc's scales at 100.6kg's I'm today 96.9kg's. Very pleased!

Was thinking. Remember when we used to start new diets? Get really excited, drop a lot of weight, get to where we want to be and then give up and go back to bad habits? Put the weight back on? Perhaps the 12 months mindgames are about that? Many of us are at our goal and that's usually when we have stopped battling and given up. Except this time there will be no giving up!!!

Have a faaaaaantastic weekend everyone!

Re:Anyone Getting Banded in April??? Reply to this message
It really seems I"m not the only one struggling a little at this point and I wonder if other people who have been banded or a year found the same thing? It cant be just me or us, I know we're amazing but I dont think we're that unique. It would be really interesting to read any research on this; has anyone read any or seen any research about people a year post band?
I DONT WANT TO BE WHAT I WAS. I LOVE THE PERSON I HAVE BECOME. I AM STRONG, COMMITTED, ENERGETIC AND HEALTHY. THAT IS THE PERSON I AM NOW AND IT IS ALSO THE PERSON I WANT TO BE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
That is my affirmation and I want to share it with you all because for me accountability helps.
I also wanted to thank you all for your honesty, it also helps knowing I'm not the only one finding this a difficult part of the journey.

Hey Kazza,
Isn't that a great weight loss of 800 grams in a month after being banded 1 yr. I'm only new to this journey but I would have thought that after the huge amount of weight you guys and gals have lost that it would have to slow off after that period of time.
I love coming to your thread and reading about our journeys and your triumphs, so any loss is a loss hey!!

Hi Nina,
Darl I hope you are successful in finding a place for yourself and your son, and stress has a funny way of playing with our bodies, I personally know that's when I comfort eat, so when you get a place and settle in things will surely get back into perspective.

Have a wonderful day ladies, and be proud of what you have achieved you inspire we newbies.
luv,
Gerry

HI all,

Here's an interesting development. My wedding rings have gotten too big for me to wear safely...so they've been put away till the day comes to get them remodeled (it's not possible to resize them because of how the stones are set). In other news, we went to a photo studio for professional photos today. How does a $2700 package for photos sound?!? We didn't opt for that package...heck- SW charges less for his out-of-pocket fee :-)
