Hi girls.....

Look like everyone is having a life hey Trish! So good to see but I miss the catch ups from everyone.

Ev - I'm sure it will settle for you. We have all been sooooooooo good for sooooooooo long that we forget that we aren't on diets now. My weight moves about 2kgs either side - normally on the up side though - but I don't worry cause we can't stay the same forever. I'm sure you will be back down again soon...

Kezza - happy birthday for next week!! What are you going to do?? Got a big party planned or doing something special for you. Whatever you do - I hope you have a blast and make it memorable!!

I'm sitting here bright & early after dropping the teenager at work for a 6am start ~ only benefit of that is that i get to have my yummy caramel latte! haha. Been busy with assignments and working on the business. It's all going well and we have a photo shooton Tuesday with a local magazine which is super exciting! Got an email through the week from another magazine that wants to do a story on us as well!! Hopefully it will take off big time! I would love to do this full time. As I can't advertise here, have a look at my blog and there is a link to the business website on that.

Hope that everyone is keeping well. Looks like it will be another glorious day in North Queensland. Take care everyone!!

Di

Hi Trish, we're still around, probably more lurking than anything, a bit despondent at the moment, cant stop nibbling, have only put on 1/2 kg but need to get a bit more off. Have just made some soup so hopefully I can nibble on that if I feel like it, I think its the warming thing.

I have terrible trouble with orange juice too. Think it might just be too acidy and upsets things. Have thought of giving it up completely, but it's been my standard for so long after exercise that I can't seem to give it the flick, even though it causes me great grief. Even tried watering it down, which helps a bit, but it still means I'm over the sink for ages (and the orange juice never comes back, just lots of . . . . . well, you know the rest!)

Hi all

Looks like we are all busy with life again! Amazing what happens hey.

Kazza - juice sometimes gives me grief too if it is too thick or if I have eaten not long before. Doesn't hurt though. If its causing pain have you got any reflux or anything like that? Sorry I can't help any further - i would be checking with the doc on the pain thing though cause it shouldn't hurt like that.

All good up here in beautiful North Queensland. We have the V8's on this weekend so I will be spending 3 days at the track! Very exciting!! I'm bit of a V8 nut and this is great to have it in North Queensland and not having to travel anywhere to see them.

I'm going well and maintenance is pretty awesome! I'm enjoying being able to eat a little bit more than I have for the last 15 months. I hover anywhere from 71kgs to 72.5 so I'm very happy with that. The numbers on the scales aren't doing my head in at all so I figure that I'm happy where I'm at. I really think to hit that 60 kilo loss has helped with the head games. I really feel that I have succeeded now. Strange isn't it?????

Anyway - hope you are all doing well....... Chat to you in 3 days - after the V8's!!!!

Cheers

Di

Re:Anyone Getting Banded in April??? Reply to this message
Thanks for the birthday wishes guys. As days go it could have been better. My mum and dad were involved in a car accident on their way home from visiting me for my birthday. And while they are ok, they're both quite elderly and it's shaken them up terribly. I spent the evening in the emergency room with mum instead of a romantic night with the sweety. *sigh*
Ahh well. They are both ok and no one was hurt in the accident and that is really what is important.

Trish well done!!! A loss is awesome :-) 96.3 here so not much of a change at all, happy with that, eating like a pig. Well a small pig, nothing compared to pre-banding days :-)

Hi all,
Elle, Happy Birthday hope you had a great day.
Nina, Dont worry about the weigh in bet your really busy getting ready to move house.

I am getting back on track and have gone back down to 88.7 kilo which is great. Im hating this cold weather l am finding l am looking for my comfort foods more and more, come on summer when l can live on salads so the weight loss will be quicker. lol

Hope every one has a great week, so stay out of the cold.
Di that means you need to stay away from the pool... lol

Re:Anyone Getting Banded in April??? Reply to this message
Hey trish
I'm feeling much better now, although my sister in law just told me I look whiter than a horsepiddle sheet. Apparently I'm a tad pale looking. Eaten a banana, some yoghurt, a boiled potato and turkey mince with rice today and it's stayed down.
Thanks for the reasurrence Trish, I'm sticking to the soft mushie stuff like you suggested.
On the up side I lost a kg. Although I can think of nicer ways to do it.

Re:Anyone Getting Banded in April??? Reply to this message
Hi Elle,
You need to take care of your self. I would go back to mushies when you feel like eating again for a few days so that the puch has time to settle.
If l am feeling yuck l take maxalon (sorry not sure about spelling) I have a script from my GP and l keep it on hand. Most doctors and hospitals know very little about banding.
I hope yoour feeling bette soon.
I once asked my surgeon about vomitting and moving the band and he told me that its a very hard thing to do, because the band is stiched in place.
The other thing l would try to help get you feeling better again would be a sports drink to help replace the fluids that you have lost.
Take Care Trish

Re:Anyone Getting Banded in April??? Reply to this message
Hey folks
I've a question that I"m wondering if anyone knows the answer to. I've had the most horrible gastro over the last couple of days. Puking like I wanted to throw up my toenails and other things that NO ONE wants to know about. ugh! I took myself off to hospital where the surgeon works from and told them the story about the vomiting and dehydration and that I was really worried about the band slipping because of the vomiting. I thought they'd remove some of the fill but they didn't seem interested and barely seemed concerned about the dehydration. Has anyone had to have fill removed because of having gastro? They tried to get me to drink to rehydrate and just "looked" at me when I tried to explain my poor little pouch was swollen and NOTHING was going in it. I haven't puked for nearly 24 hours now but I can still feel the pouch is swollen. I'm keeping water down but haven't eaten in 24 hours (that's not worrying me, but the swollen pouch is). Any one got any insights to offer?
Cheers Elli
BTW: my "friend" that I"ve been seeing looked after me, took me to hospital in the middle of the night, offered to empty my puke bucket and held my hand while I sooked...he's such a sweetheart.

Hey Trish,

hope that you have a better week this week, I know what that is like. I had such a busy weekend, more partying and a 10.5 km walk and an even shorter haircut!! I have become so daring...lol.

Not getting on the scales at the moment, feeling quite good, been eating very naughty. My band has been giving me a bit of touble, not playing properly!!! but that is life.....

hope that you are all doing good,

love and light
