Me again! Back from a fill, went without drama, first jab and it was in. Yay! Got 0.5ml's and we'll keep adding 0.1-0.2 every 2 weeks till restriction is back...I so don't want another overfill or blockage of any sorts. You gals know what I'm taking about, hey Trish and Mermaid!

LOL Gerry...loved it!

Mermaid I bet you look a million bucks...you are so gorgeous anyways :-)

Trish I agree with you, all doctors should know what lapbanding is AND the ins and outs of it. incompetence if they don't! Please let us know how your friend is going, that's just scary.

I'm off for a fill again today, already dreading the prodding and poking...grrr...but looking forward to getting the weight loss started again.

Hope everyone is well,
Nina

Hi all,
Gerry what a classic.

I have had a pretty awful 2days with a friend of mine, she has been banded 5 weeks now (the 2nd time around) she has been in and out of hospital for a week now and they cant figure out what is wrong with her( Major stomach cramps, Cant eat and isnt keeping liqiuds down either) Surgeon says her band is in the right place and is not the problem. I sat at hospital wiht her last night for 4 1/2 hours to be told that there was nothing they could do for her because she had had major surgery in the last month she needed to go back and see surgeon. Doctor at the hospital knew nothing about lapbands why is it that young doctors today are not taught about banding so many people have them these days that they are common place, it makes me so mad. Not even the senoir doctor on duty knew anything about banding and just said that we should go to surgeon. WHY

Thats my rant for the day
Cheers Trish

HI Nina,
I had this email sent to me this morning and I thought you would get a chuckle out of it :)
Gerry

Husband Wanted

A lonely widow, age 80, decided that it was time to get married again.

She put an ad in the local paper that read:

HUSBAND WANTED:

MUST BE IN MY AGE GROUP (80's),

MUST NOT BEAT ME,

MUST NOT RUN AROUND ON ME &

MUST STILL BE GOOD IN BED!!!!!

ALL APPLICANTS PLEASE APPLY IN PERSON.

On the second day, she heard the doorbell. Much to her dismay, she opened the door to see a grey-haired gentleman sitting in a
wheelchair. He had no arms or legs.

The old woman said, 'You're not really asking me to consider you, are you? Just look at you...you have no legs!

The old man smiled, 'Therefore, I cannot run around on you!'

She snorted. 'You don't have any arms either!'

Again, the old man smiled, 'Therefore, I can never beat you!'

She raised an eyebrow and asked intently, 'Are you still good in bed???'

The old man leaned back, beamed a big smile and said,

'Rang the doorbell didn't I?

nothing like a new hairdo to make a girl feel better! My hair is poker straight, so would have to get it permed to get it to curl. I've had to postpone my hair appointment cuz my surgery got bumped up...now it's driving me nuts...only a week till I can get it cut *woohoo*

well done trish
it is such a wonderful feeling when you reach these milestones keep up the good work
little by little bit by bit but as long as the scales are moving downs that all that matters
i was very naughty over Easter and ate every thing in sight well chocolate any way and payed the price by putting on 1kg so i have been trying to lose it this week but it goes on a allot quicker than it comes off so today i was 80.1 i so want to be in the70 next week
i am even thinking of going back on opti for the week to get it moving again
i had my 1year banding birthday and i mad it to 80kg i was thrilled i started at 124 so have lost a whopping 44kg which has been really easy{well some times } but now i want to lose more i am not at goal for my height which is 64-65Kg i can never imagine getting to that weight that is another 15kg i am hoping for another 10may be but it will be a lot harder and slower i will need to have a tummy tuck but that another journey

Mermaid,

he doens't like to give the exact figure of his starting weight, as you can appreciate. However, he was well over 200kg when he was banded. He was the 2nd largest person Steve Watson has ever banded. I do have pictures of him in his wedding clothes...unlike many of us, HE'S gotten too small for his wedding clothes! I'm hoping my wedding dress will grow over time too LOL. Even sent a picture of him in the big clothes to Steve; who congratulated hubby on his achievement

Re:Anyone Getting Banded in April??? Reply to this message
omg what a laugh I have had ready those dating posts, keep them coming, there are some very shonky, grotty people in this world.....lol.

Nancy you husband must be amazing, what was his starting weight???? What an inspiration!!!

Well I finally got an emergency appointment with my Dr, 400 kms away, lol, got the call the night before, can you be here by 3.45pm........YEEEEEEEEES SSSSSSSSSS, I was so desperate for an unfill, I have been so sick the last 4 weeks. Well when I got on the scales he realsied how sick I have been. Lost 8 kgs in 2 months, no wonder I have felt like C R A P , and had no energy to do anything!!! Well now I feel fantastic, actually got to eat food last night and not just liquids. My poor gut must not of been happy, cause this morning I have the worst wind, lol. I am sure that I can deal with it tho. I am so glad that I do not have the reflux, I thought the night coughing was gonna kill me or choke me to death!!! FOUL!

On the upside the Dr and I had a chat about my goal weight, I just want to lose 2.5 kgs and he is more than happy with that. I will then be 64kgs, I am happy as long as I can buy nice clothes, be fit and healthy.

I am excited, going for a new hair do tomorrow, to complete my make over, woooot woooot,

Well I have raved on enough, take care all, and keep this thread saucy!!!

love Mermaid

yes I'm VERY proud of him! And so grateful to Steve for doing the surgery. I truly believe that my hubby would have met an early death without the surgery. It has changed both our lives so much. We are both much more active and enjoying life to the full

Hi Nina...just call me Nancy. Our doctor is Stephen Watson...a lovely man, very supportive and non judgemental. My hubby has lost a whopping 101 kg (that's including the 30 he'd lost prebanding). He's a real inspiration for anyone considering having banding. He goes to the gym everyday...does pump classes twice a week, weights twice a week and cardio the other 3 days. Certainly to be that successful with banding exercise is the key factor!

Re:Anyone Getting Banded in April??? Reply to this message
Morning all,
Well it has taken me 3 weeks but l have finally done it. Today l am under 90 kilos..
89.5 OMG l cant believe it.
My clothes are all size 16 these days, l still do have some 18 but they just hang off me, how weird is that. I would have never thought it 12 months ago that a 18 would be to big for me. I love my band, I love my new life, I love my support network.

Nina, l have really enjoyed reading about your man and the late night phone call in your underwear, OMG l wouldnt of rang either bit strange for some one who you have just met. I think l would have run a mile from that one. lol
Take Care
Trish
