fluffy ,
you Will wear those clothes (maybe smaller):) ,

I never imagined Iwould ever be size 8 jeans

my goal ,I set ,for me ,was fitting in a nice size 12 ,

my bmi is still above 25 ,
so sizeswise I guess will drop ,more
but I am so happy ,where I am at ,I do not care about bmi anymore so if it goes lower, fine ,
if it does not fine too ,
but best thing of all is I know, it will not jump back on ,(like after a diet)
and if weight starts to creep up a little ,
I know a small fill, will get rid of it again ,
goodluck and keep in touch,to share your success :),Doreen

Regarding clothes I'd like to wear if I was my ideal weight for 160cms. I'm a teacher so I'd love to just be able to wear a really nice pair of well fitting jeans and a tailored shirt. I'm sick of looking frumpy and older than I actually am!I love the jeans in Jeans West. I'm planning on buying a size 12 and a size 10 top. I'm glad to see you have posted your success story. It rejuvinates my sense of hope about everything going according to plan.

(Lap band success)

laying off dieting
applying the rules
positivethinking

band, the tool for success
always trying your best
now ,do not wait like I did
do it for yourself (you deserve it )

show them you can do it (especially the ones who knock it)
unless you ,are ill stick by the rules(90%)
come on the boards for inspiration
cut the drinks back (and add lowcal ones)
easy= band +correct fill+rules + little exercise
stick it out( even on tough days) its worth it
show the world your new found body and confidence

re plastic surgery ,
it is not covered by any funds at all,the difference is after weight loss
this is reconstructive surgery so yes it should be covered

also boobs are cheaper/covered

only if you have a (child under 7)
it is again classed as reconstructive

they go on medicare records ,
so cannot be a day over 7 ,:(
I missed out,
so it is now classed as plastic surgery and full costs apply :( including paying for hospital stay and theatre costs hope this helps ,Doreen
height 157cm
start 110kg , size 22/24 :((BMI 44.63)
banded (1/10/07) at 104 kg
now 67.5 kg :)size ,mostly all 10's now :)(BMI 27.4)

now size 8 jeans

corrin ,
thanks,
you are going well,
do not worry ,at first (no one )does notice ,

maybe like me ,you are still wearing bigger clothes if so it is even harder to notice,

maybe add a belt etc or check out your wardrobe for previously ,out grown clothes that may fit now ,

remember soon ,maybe a bit of a plateau or time to up the exercise ,

remember we still get plateau's
we just tend to feel them more ,after bigger losses, keep going ,you will get there ,Doreen

Hi Doreen,
The surgeon giving the seminar is Dr Jason Winette. I don't know whether to go with him or get it done in Geelong, with Dr Ken Chao? I've previously had a gastroscopy with Dr. Chao and he was lovely, but don't know how experienced he is with lap band. Has anyone had a lap band with him?
Thankyou,
Abigail

Re:iamdoingit4me , welcome to my page Reply to this message
getting 2 litres a day :::;;

if newly banded it is a bit of a struggle
I aim for

with meals
I have always been 10mins before and at least 20mins after ,

I find a drink in morning ,
and a drink before each meal is about a litre

then I try for one instead of morning tea

another instead of afternoon tea

1 after dinner

and one before bed ,
2 litres gone easy ,

also remember diet jelly or soups etc are also liquids ,
all the best ,hope this helps ,Doreen

banded (1/10/07) at 104 kg

Hi Doreen
Thank you so much for the information, I checked out your story and bar all the kids,(I only have 3) it sounds like me
Love the recent photo of your remarkable change, congrats
I will be making inquires tomorrow at QE2 and at that pric I can just about afford it (still need to find out if and how I can access my super.....
But I have decided that I don't want to spend the next 30 years battling my weight problem. (I have wasted too much time on it now!~) I just wish I didn't have to wait
Can't get over how different the cost can vary?

Thanks again for sharing
Colleen

Doreen
Thanks so much for going to the trouble of giving me a detailed history of your weight loss journey. I feel a bit more positive about it now. I'm attending a free seminar on Monday so hopefully that will put my mind at ease.
Best wishes,
Abigail

Re:iamdoingit4me , welcome to my page Reply to this message
abigail,
lifes too short to be unhappy and unhealthy,
go for it
my story in short is
After seeing the dr about a hyst er ectomy and getting told to loose 30kg first,
easier said than done when I was so sick ,drained and constantly tired as well as hardly able to walk, first kept passing, out through low, iron, etc
I also have a couple of slipped discs and a shonky leg from a fall, and found it hard excercising

So after 8 yrs playing around,
I got on and got my lapband done ,I previously had been scared off lapbanding, by so many awful stories .
having got it,and loving it
I now try to help others look more into it,
as I feel I wasted those 8yrs ,through mis knowledge and listening to people who had no idea
Including my gp,(who is now looking at it for himself and his wife and he often rings me about advice for patients ,

re saggy skin
I must admit ,at first thought ,I wanted surgery, but have now toned up heaps in the last 3 months
After the positive ,reaction's of so many at my school reunion recently
I thought ,dam it ,why bother ,this is me,
remember slower loss ,helps skin ,go back better
if we lose too quick, our skin really hangs ,mine is going back well,
so much better than I ever expected,
so for now I am happy to wait and see ,
and so went and spent the money I was saving for surgery

on a swim spa instead

I hate queensland summers
and excercising when hot and sticky is not much fun
so this is my answer ,(for toning and excercise )
as well as a relaxing massage after a workout lol,

still a form of exercise,Yes , but cannot think of a more enjoyable one
time to enjoy the new found freedom ,
of my weight loss,

My healths great ,my lifes changed so much
So Have decided ,if I get surgery, it has to be for me and at present I am happy to wait and see,Doreen

Hi Doreen,
I'm new to this forum. I have just seen your photo. Congratulations, you look amazing. I'm considering a lap band but don't know if I'm too old at 56. Would it cause more wrinkles?.
Best wishes,
Abigail
