Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
Doreen, water is going down ok. I just can't eat solid food and I am not missing in. I did manage a few cruskits today with melted cheese.... so I am not starving to death. But my hubby did say I must remember to take my berocca's if I am only going to have a limited intake of food. I hate to say this, but the scales dropped 1.5 kilo this week, biggest loss for me for months, so I am very very happy.

I want to get 10 kilo off before heading off OS in April, so I am very happy to have had a bit of fill and getting a quick result... gives you incentive to keep going. I am going to make soup tomorrow to get me through the bad days. I can't have those optifast and TF drinks... they just won't go down, neither will ice cream.

Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
I am also thinking of selling my jeans on Ebay as well. They have hardly been used as I have dropped down another size and I can wear good old R.M's now - so that is my jean of choice.

Do people buy things like Target jeans on Ebay?

Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
Ohh Doreen... that is a very good price. Have you ever seen the Nioxon hair mask on Ebay? I really need to get onto that place and learn how to work it. Like facebook... I am a bit lost when I go there.

My daughter is going to sell my leather jacket on Ebay for me, and another coat that I have that is just lovely, but hardly been worn. But I have no idea how to start the process. She knows... so its her job at Easter to do it for me.

I will get her to have a look at the Nioxin stuff for me.

Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
Hey there Ray... not so bad, yourself??? Well, I am a bit bad because I am having trouble eating. What is weird though is that I don't really mind that I can't eat. I tried my favourite prawn choo chee from the local thai tonight, but it didn't stay down... last nights dinner didn't either. And it is weird, I don't care! Normally I would get a bit depressed about it, but I'm not.

I am just sitting her sipping water to ensure I don't get dehydrated and I am going to have a peppermint tea and hit the sack with my book soon.

Hi Sue, If you're worried check with your dr. but it is probably the old faithful, trapped gas. It is a bug ger of a thing.

Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
Di... my hairdresser swears by it. She doesn't sell it, but sent me to Price Attack to get it. A few people I know have said they think it is slowly but surely working for them also.

Good luck with it all.

Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
Sue... I would think it is all part of the healing process. If it is still bothering you on Monday, it might be worth a call to your surgeons office and let them know that you are a bit unsure about this pain.

Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
Nioxin is a shampoo and conditioner that you can buy in places like that Price Attack (we have those here in NSW, not sure about other states???). You can get it for all different stages of hair loss, depending on how far it has gone. I use the one for thinning hair and have found it to be very good. It is unfortunately a bit on the expensive side, but it lasts a good while. I have had my last lot for three months and it cost me about $140.

Hi Mel.

What is Nioxin. My hair is really thin at the front I think from years of fertility treatments and lots of day sugerys for laproscopies when going through this treatment. Would be interested in knowing what this is??

Cheers

Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
Hi Chris...

This has been talked about time and time again. I am sure there is a thread on it and I am sure that Pyretta the guru or finding threads will find it for you when she can.

There is not much you can do really. It is more a result of the gas than the band. I didn't loose my hair post banding, but I did last year when I had major shoulder surgery. I now use a product called Nioxin - not all the time, but I do get it often and use it. It does help I swear. The rest of the time now I use a good quality shampoo and conditioner from the hairdressers rather than supermarket brands. I have no idea if it makes any long term difference, but my hair does feel better when I use them. I also go and get a regular treatment done... mainly because I have bleached hair to cover the every increasing grey.

Make sure you are getting your multi vitamins in, lots of B and D as well as Zinc will help.

Other than that, it is just part and parcel of anaesthetics unfortunately.
