Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
Hi everyone, Debbie from Adelaide back on the boards...I think I last posted mid last year. Well, what a journey I've had. Just come out of hospital after my second band was installed on Wednesday...the last one slipped and was starving to death for a few weeks there....one way to lose weight, I guess!!! I had got down to 116kg (preband approx 170kg) and then before the surgery the doctor removed all the fluid and of course I put about 14kgs back on before my surgery last week...well I guess he had a lot less fat to get thru this time !!! However, I admit I wasn't the best patient first time around, but my head is in a different place this time around and I'm so looking forward to huge success this time. Plus I've been involved in so many new activities which have inspired me...racing cars, riding motorbikes, swimming, having a ball on our speedboat (such a revhead tom boy, I am !!) but my 2 teenage sons and husband and been a great support and I'm looking forward to the new me very soon. So, I guess I'm in between 2 worlds, a old pro at lap band issues and new lapbander with my new model...so happy to chat to anyone who needs some questions answered.....love to all the old banders I use to chat to...hope you are all still lurking around for a chat real soon. Cheers, Debbie from Adelaide

Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
can anyone shed light on this please? After I eat at certain meals, particularly later in the day, I have quite an uncomfortable pain on my left side near my lowest rib, sort of where one of my incisions is. I've been banded nearly 5 weeks. this has come on this week. I had my first adjustment 6 days ago. the pain stops me in my tracks and I need to move slowly then lie still for a while. it feels sort of like a bad cramp. has anyone had this experience or know what it is?

Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
To eveyone that replied to my post a couple of days ago, thankyou. Lynda thank you for your offer of the files you have - to identify restriction.
I am actually going ot take Madonna's advise and get myself a dietician. I have never been to one. When I was banded over 3 years ago the doctor didn't even suggest I get one. Now I am starting my banding life all over again I think it will benefit me to do it the right way.
THanks

Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
Hi Doors... I am struggling. I am going to have to go and get a bit out which is so damned annoying. But I went out yesterday arvo on the water for about 5 hours - and I am now dehydrated and headachy. I am off to a Sydband lunch today, so I will just try and keep sipping. I am also supposed to be going to the soccer grandfinal this afternoon... always the way isn't it?

But, I think I may be getting a we smidgen out tomorrow if I can.

How are you... would love to catch up again soon.

Mel

Lizzie,

I have a life, it's just not mine most of the time. I get to play taxi driver on Thursday and Saturday nights, (only for my kids mind you) though I must admit i took a few hours out to watch Dogma yet again.

Has to be one of my favorite movies but I always forget about it until someone mentions it.

Re:General Chat #4 Reply to this message
Di,

Make sure you are taking your pain meds every 4 hours. The pain can be bad for a few days but it does get better.

Your stomach is almost under the lower part of you left ribs which is why your incisions are so high. Where is your big cut? That will be the one that they have put the port in and will probably be the sorest for a while.

Just try and keep the gas and the pain under control and you'll be fine.
