barb, i feel for you, however must say that i am not into medical neg.cases.however,in your state there are some good people to work with you in this field.
i just want to say that nobody woke up that morning to hurt you, chit happens. i know you went to hell and back,i remember your very sad posts.don't give him your power.
what a chit 6 months of it you had to put up with.
barb, i also remember how you walked on water with happiness for the things that were to head your future.
i hope that this past hic-up will not take away the focus of your great future.
walk away and walk on as there is great stuff out there for you.
i remember your dreams and hope they become a reality for you..
cheers |

Barb,
I really think you need to see someone about the way you are feeling. I know of at least one bandit who has been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder after it all went horribly wrong. I also know of other who have tried fighting through the legals system, a class action no less and still, after 5 years have had no satisfaction.
I wish there were something I could do for you, please please go see a councilor.

Hi, feeling a wee bit low. I am celebrating my first anniversery of the horrific banding 7/8/08.
I am looking at the physical and mental scars, the struggle I am having for justice, to be heard to be informed why I got a hospital acquired stap infection, why I had to pack a wound until February 2009. Oh why?
I wish I had never heard of that person who thinks he is a leader surgeon. Barb |

Hiya Gunnadoau,
I dont regularly drink beer, but have found no problems with it since banding :) I suppose it depends on how much you usually drink?

Selina,
I have no idea what size band I have, despite having asked on numerous occasions. I do know (approximately) how much fill I have, but I have kept my own records.
To be brutally honest, I'm not sure that it is vitally important to know either of these things. As long as the band is doing it's job, then I guess there's no real reason to know how much fill you have.
But . . . . . like Pyretta said, if you are unhappy about the situation then it might be wise to find another doctor, especially if that is not the only 'issue'. |

Hi Trajedy
I had Chris as my surgeon and found him to be great. Very caring and understanding. The whole team at the valley are great. Always there if you need questions answered etc. Hope this helps.

Selina,
Some docs don't want us to know how much is in out bands because some people tend to focus on how much they have compared to other people. However I firmly believe you have every right to know if you ask.
My doc doesn't mention it, but if i ask she as always told me.
If you have lot confidence in your fill doc them I strongly suggest finding someone you are happy with. Banding is a long term partnership and you need to be able to work with the doc

I hope someone can help me here re. problems I am having the the doc. who does my fills.
I was banded in Feb. and have finally got to the stage where I think/feel that the band is about right. It has been a long haul, but I have had no blockages/throwing-up so I am happy with the slow and sure road and I am slowly losing weight.
HOWEVER.... the doc. who does my fills refuses to tell me how much I have in my band - even when I asked outright, saying that I had the right to know. He just refuses.... I'm not comfortable with this nor with our relationship since this little show down. There have also been a few minor things that I would be willing to ignore if they had been the only 'issues'.
Is this normal? not to be told how much fluid is in the band? I feel like a bit of a dill, not knowing.
Also, does anyone in Brisbane have someone they go to for fills who they are happy with?
All replies appreciated |

eoralin,
There is a thread on here about having sore bones so it does happen to some, as for the jittery extra energy, all I can suggest is to try and use it up.

Hi trajedy99
I don't know anything about him, but I am sure he will be ok. I did not know anything about my surgeon either, but I am very happy. Maybe some of the others might know.
Good luck. |

| Hi Qui, Thanks. I'm going to Valley Private with Dr Chris Hensman. I haven't found much recent info on him so would be grateful for an update. Is he as good as he tells me? |
