Hi Chris and Leah
Thanks so much for the positive words. I am really glad I found the forum as I have learnt so much already. I know it is the best thing I can do to get myself back to really enjoying life, travelling etc. Like others on here I do waver a bit but know it will be worth it in the end. Anyone else maybe getting banded at the Valley in Melb in Feb.
Cheers

Hi Lynnie, I too was perplexed by some of the goings on in this forum, I now ignore the all negativism. Choosing to stick with all the positive support and wisdom within.
You will not look back after Feb, when you see the kilos falling off. For me my band has been the best decision of my life, mine was done in Sept, with only a few small hiccups since (when I do the wrong thing). You go girl!!

OMG I thought the cr@p had finally gone away and we had settled down to why we are mostly all here.....to help and support each other.......PLEASE PLEASE keep the vileness and anger you feel to yourself no one hear is interested or wants to read about it. We are busy on our journeys and look forward to responses to our problems and questions, and not to have to read that vileness that you spew forth...JUSY GO AWAY

| Why do we have to read the rubbish you posted overnight Leanne? By posting it on the general thread, I have a right to respond even though it doesn't involve me. I doubt you will get anyone on this forum to reply to your posts overnight in a positive way. You said some days ago when some of us were having dialogue about addictions etc you are addicted to internet forums. Well it seems your addiction is coming out in a bad way and its time to seek help and/or take it elsewhere. I have read some amazingly helpful posts from you recently Leanne, why are you undoing all the good things you have contributed to and you now write this? It's a New Year, let it go or at least use a different thread where we have choices whether to open them or not ... :) Toni |

be fair you lot take your rubbish back to your nasty little threads and out of the general area. nobody here cares who started what, who finished what, who thinks they are right who thinks who is wrong, we just want you all to do it where we do not have to be forced to put up with it. go back to your nasty little threads and leave the rest of us alone.

"Jen...you are going to be in trouble now!Yes, I pay for Leanne to sit around doing nothing.I pay for her medical, her transport, for her to live basically. You do, I do, millions of us do. She has this new found social life & is flitting here & there, or so she says she is... I wonder if she really is.But I am yet to hear of her getting out & looking for a job or doing something worthwhile like volunteer work. She sits waiting for the volunteers to come to her.
Please... do not get me wrong. I am happy that my taxes go to good use and to those who truely deserve them. And there are many who truely deserve what they get & need and there are still some out there that need more. She doesn't need anything the way she speaks these days.
I am very very angry at the moment that my taxes are paying some people a lump sum... meanwhile, I have nothing in my account to speak of because I have just had to pay a huge tax bill after paying over 50cents in the dollar. Peeves me off no end. Others swan around on my money... eating drinking and enjoying. Meanwhile, I pay huge amounts of tax. Doesn't make bloody sense... wish they would fix the bloody streets in my area... Maybe she should say thank you to us for providing her with her lifestyle."

Mel you're incorrect & in denial, you've CONTINUALLY posted nasty things & have been for years, as usual you've overstepped boundaries, not just with me but many others on here.
Were you paid Child Endowment/Grant for your kids Mel? If so, there are many people who don't have children & who are not on Centrelink on this board who YOU need to thank for contributing to YOUR kid's lifestyles. |

Mel and Jen (shadesailundies)
I'm still waiting for an apology from you both although I doubt that will ever happen. What a co-incidence that you've both avoided the above thread since I responded to your VERY NASTY and INCORRECT ASSUMPTIONS of me last year, even your cronies have gone into hiding.
It's not any business of either of you how I financially support myself but for the record Centrelink doesn't fund my lifestyle, I don't owe one cent to Centrelink or either of you because no taxpayer is supporting me as you have both wrongly assumed. I'm on superannuation that I contributed to for 38 years i.e. MY MONEY. I was on Centrelink while pending an appeal elsewhere and every cent was refunded to Centrelink from MY MONEY when my superannuation finally came through last year otherwise I would have been double paid for the same length of time.
I truly feel sorry for your friends on here that are supported by Centrelink including anyone else here that receives Centrelink support or are simply unable to work for whatever reason. You've shown what you think of them and anyone else needing support from Centrelink. Feeling comfortable to share one's lifestyle on here can be thrown back into one's face as you two have shown. Both your true colours have been exposed again yet you call me nasty! |

Sassy,
I can relate to your anger. I am a confident and assertive person by nature anyway regardless of my weight, however it was after my banding re-do 12 months ago I suffered somewhat of an emotional meltdown. At the time I blamed my reaction to the anaesthetic and pain, but went to a counsellor to see if there was anything behind my emotional state. She said that surgery more or less was the catalyst in bringing unresolved issues to ahead.
All is well now. I concur with Pyretta and seek some counselling. Sometimes things just snap inside of us and we can't hide from them. It may not be the banding so much as the surgery itself, or a number of factors? But definately don't ignore your anger...tackle this issue head on!
Let us know how you go. All the best.
Kerri :) |

Your apology regarding using one of your "many secret IDs" didn't include your inside_prop ID which to this day is still receiving email copies of posts from GC Bandsters.
Reposting my post from 16/12/2008
"If inside_prop as you said is your GODSON and as a result of reading the posts on this board, is so upset reading my accusations that you are the fake user, then why the bloody hell hasn't he unsubscribed from the GC Bandsters, instead you (he?) is STILL RECEIVING MESSAGES FROM THE GC BANDSTERS VIA EMAIL!!!
No wonder you know so much about my "new found social life and flitting here and there!"
Not only do you know about my "new found social life and flitting here and there" you have even posted and quoted word for word posts regarding myself on GC Bandsters to this board. Yeah I really believe your post that it's your Godson or a Sydband Moderator using a fake user ID on GC Bandsters to feed you comments word for word - NOT. |

Sassy,
The only way you are going to get to the bottom of your anger issues, as they are emerging now, is to get on to a good therapist and try and talk it out with them. As you have already said, " realize just how much people walk all over me and have done for years" is probably only one of the reasons. If you have a good relationship with your GP that is a great place to start.

Maybe it's the increase in self confidence. Even after losing just 10 kilos I am starting to feel so much better about myself.
You're not afraid to ask for what you want anymore. Maybe you feel like you're in control of your life more: control over your eating, control over your decisions.???

Hi all :)
Just went and posted this on my regular October bandits thread but want to put it here as well, I need some advise bandits!
Went and bought a great pair of New Balance exercise shoes, I know I will use them now because I hate wasting money :) They are quite girly..very pink and white and were quite expensive..determined to exercise now to justify buying them.
Regular October Bandits will remember that I had a sizeable financial windfall before Christmas. To date have not slurged apart from my Plasma Tv. Well today I went to buy a couple of leather recliners to complete the loungeroom makeover and was thwarted at every turn by sales staff grrr...Wouldn't sell me stock on display..then wouldn't/couldn't tell me when they could be delivered and finally told me I would have to wait up to 7 wks for delivery and then they would charge me $80 to deliver 5 min up the road.
Groovers, I threw a hissy fit and stormed out and kicked one of the recliners on the way out. :) Definitely have a shorter fuse than before banding..never EVER would have done that before. I just would have PUT up and SHUT up and not wanted to cause a scene. I went over the road to the sporting goods store and bought a punching bag and gloves instead LOL :)
Before banding I just ate to hide my feelings, now I find I actually have to deal with issues that before I would just eat to numb the stress. I am becoming a lot more assertive in myself but at times I feel very cranky as well (Punching bag will be a good therapy..I am going to beat the living @#!! out of that thing. By the way groovers, it is pink like my new exercise shoes :) I like things to match)
I would like to know if any of you feel the same way as I have since banding regarding feeling increased anger..and how have you re-channeled the stress now that food is no longer a crux..really need some help here folks.

Hi all.... I am in glorious Port Macquarie. Off to dinner this evening with friends who live up here and my godson and my two god daughters. I love love love seeing them when I can. My godson is usually down the coast but he is here for this week... he is on the journey with the rest of us with this bloody weight loss business.
Anyway, I am enjoying the sunshine, time on the beach and around the pool... bliss really.
Hope everyone is well and that they are enjoying summer.

PART 2
When Oprah fell off the weight loss wagon all photos of her on her magazine were head shots only. She felt so ashamed and even ashamed of her appearance at some special events where she was televised giving awards. This months Issue of Oprah on the cover has two photos of her, one full length shot of her when she was slim and one full length shot as she is now, she needed to do this to face reality and get on with her new healthier way of living.
With exercise she used to do more cardio and less resistance and is finding that due to the increased resistance exercise her body is reshaping and her clothes are looser and she is happy with that.

PART 1
Any Oprah fans who need motivating may be interested in the following, also those who have a thyroid problem might be encouraged. Watching her show today has certainly motivated me. Oprah and Dr Phil now appear on the same date and day as they appear in America. Today Oprah said on her show that is was Monday 5th January 2009.
Oprah and Carrie Wilson today were certainly interesting and inspiring.
Carrie Wilson singer and daughter of Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys was on the show because she too has fallen off the wagon after having Gastric Bypass. Prior to having Gastric Bypass she was over 300 pounds (136 kilos), she lost 152 pounds (70 kilos). When she fell off the wagon she went up to 220 pounds (100 kilos) she is now 168 pound (76 kilos).
Both Oprah and Carrie agree that they no longer worry about the scales, they just want to be healthy.
Oprah finally realised that when her life doesn't have balance that's when she overeats/comfort food eating. Her KEY to a healthy life is now as a way of putting balance in her life, on the top of her Do List/Priority List she puts herself, e.g. healthy eating, exercise and relaxation comes before anyone else and work.
Last year Oprah was close to a breakdown as a result of weight gain and other factors in her life. She wasn't sleeping and was so tired she didn't want to go to work. She went to four different doctors but not one had indicated she might have a thyroid problem. When she was discussing this on her show last year the audience and viewers who had thyroid problems believed Oprah had a thyroid problem too. As a result of this Oprah had tests carried out for thyroid and found she did have a thyroid problem and was even using this as an excuse on her show. She's faced reality now and realises she was using her thyroid problem as an excuse for her weight gain and now believes there's no reason why she needs to lead an unhealthy life just because of a thyroid problem. |
