i am sure you will be fine, just dont have a fill just before you go.!!!
Eat carefully and get back into it when you get home.I am at about 12 weeks in at the moment and was great until last weeks fill. have 4.7 ml and think that will do for now.

Alredy have, the trouble was flight centre said I would be covered but when I checked up this morn insurance people said I wouldnt be they said no way as they cant assese[?] me,hearing you went to Canada helps,I guess I will just have to wait and see what sort of ride I get over the next few weeks,do you have a feeling when something is wrong like slippage, I guess I hope that the worst would be something getting stuck but if Im carefull that shouldnt happen, I hope.

Everyone seems to be different re fills but I flew to canada at 14 weeks after two fills 5.5 mls total. No problems at all. You will still take out the travel insurance even tho it doesn't cover the band won't you??

Am flying to Hong Kong in 12 weeks and have just found out that I cant get travel insurance for my lap band should anything go wrong, my band will be 12 weeks old, what I wont to know is what is the general state of things at 12 weeks, how many fills should I have had by then?Im thinking that If all good at 103weeks then I should leave all alone what do you experienced bandsters think.

Eggs anyway are difficult for me... drives me spare as they are such a good source of protien...
Yogurt doesn't work either, and ice cream is also something I gave up on.
Mel
Chinese... I find that anything with lots of sauce is ok. And salt and pepper calamari and prawns always were ok.

Re the chinese meal. I am like you and have not told anyone except husband and daughters. I have eaten chinese regularly, ( BUT then i can skull water too ) My band is reasonably tight and i find that i am very affected by stress and / moods. So at the moment my band can be tight as, one day and good the next. I eat the soup, and often just have another entree for main. ( friends no i am dieting lol well they can see that, so they don't question it.) I find i can manage prawns well. Prawns in a seafood sauce or a curry has been fine. Chicken chow meain..lots of sauce was fine. Just remember to chew between small ,outhfuls and if you chat alot that will be easy. Best of luck with the dinner. Alex

Wow... you are doing amazingly well!
Well... you don't have a huge amount of fill for a 10ml band. I would think that maybe the lettuce has caused this to be a problem. Have a day off with some liquids. If on Monday afternoon you are still feeling that nothing will go down other than liquid, you need to get the advise of your surgeon, better to be safe than sorry.
Let us know how you get on. Gently gently in the meantime.... and I can tell you when I had a huge problem once with swelling after taking a large tablet, banana paddle pops were my best friend for 24 hours! Soothing and cool!

Hi Karen. Maybe ceasar salad was a bit too brave to take on. Most of us find that lettuce does not work at all as time goes on... salad in fact is hard work for bandits with high restriction.
Maybe you have had a bit of a block and are now swollen from the p.bing... go to liquids now until Monday and see how you go. Give it a bit of a chance to recover and then try again. If you are uncomfortable and still not keeping anything down... you should let your surgeon know that you are struggling... you don't want to cause any problems.
You don't say what size band you have???

hi all.
have been having an awful time since last fill on thursday. only had.5 put in and have 4.7 altogether. am finding i cant eat anything except liquid stuff as it really hurts going down. i have chucked up dinner for 2 nights in a row now. I guess there may be swelling but didnt have much in. Can drink fine.Breakfast was porridge and that was ok. even having trouble with yogurt. Should i stay on liquids for a day or so.? I think i got lettuce stuck tonight. only had about 3 forkfuls of ceasar salad and gave up. I guess at least i will be thinner quicker. What do i do?
Also, am going to a work thing in 2 weeks at a chinese rest and dont know what to have. I need something safe to eat as work dont know i have a band. Am due for another fill on the 5th, do you think i should wait till after the chinese thing.
Help with any thoughts would be great!!

That is funny... I am on my first lovely gorgeous bourbon!!!!!! I have a reputation with one person as being a drunk... fortunately I am not one, and never will be... but do enjoy my bourbon and sometimes these days, a wine.

Hi,
I can skull a drink without any problems as long as it's not fizzy or ice cold. So everyone is different. After a fill, i need to take skull the water it's the only way i can tell if it's to tight.
Cheers |
