Its important to remember its what you do with your daughter not how much it cost. She will enjoy the day you spent with her at the beach or in the park more than the expensive brand name dress you bought her.We have 4 kids and you know what there favorite thing is. Saturday night family night. We get a video make up some finger foods and its the only night of the week they are allowed to eat infront of the TV. My kids range from 3-13 and they all look forward to it as much as each other.$6 for the movie and alot of fun memories and laughs.

ok if you have your daughter 4 days a week you need to talk to centrelink as they will pay you a % of what you are due in family tax a and b and you may also be able to claim a part parenting payment single you will get help there. As for living these days it is expensive my partner and I have 7 children together ( we are not a combind family) and we manage you need to watch what you buy at the shop never go shopping on an empty stomach buy bulk as you can always freeze stuff. Maybe look at moving to an affordable place we pay the same amount rent but live near the beach and a 4br home near newcastle and if your child is in school there is also after school care at some local childcare centres or some schools do it even before school care if you need to boost you work hours but you must talk to centrelink they will be able to help you and if you need to ask to speak to a social worker at centrelink to find out more as what help you can get.
The only last thing that I can say is go with your gut instinct as all mother have and so do the men you will do a great job as sometime a male can do a better job then a women we have a freind in sydney that does wonders for his 2 kids .
as for your second post some people may of not know how to help or may have not came accross your post as I didnt until just now.

shop at aldi not coles. change all light bulbs to energy saving bulbs, check out price deals on telephones, gas and electric, these companies are always offering different deals. if you have a car try walking if at possible. switch off everything at the wall socket, if not using. i switch off everything, even the washing machine. try baking cakes.

With that kind of attitude i don't think its the money you should worry about with regards to raising your daughter!
We are all in the same boat...i am on a single income with three kids under 5.... its tight but we make it happen. Don't plan things and analyse them too much. God is great and he provides in mysterious ways. Have faith and give lots of love...that's all we can do :)

Well had this up for a week it is obvious that people just like to pass the less fortunate in the street, you know what screw you all.....go sip your coffees go get an extension on your overpriced piece of better homes and gardens face piece of poo house, go argue with the shop attendant about your self importance........you know why, this was a great opportunity for you middle classed pompous pieces of **** to make a comment on something else but yourselves. If you have ever listened to Billy Joel sing 'Big Shot' your listening to yourself.

Im about to look after my daughter 4 days a week. Im exited but scared a little bit money wise as i have to now work casual, the last 15 years i have been full time.

Rent is $300 bucks a week alone, my question is how do people survive these days really, please consider i am aware of a two minute noodle and one pair of school shorts upbringing so i know what it takes to survive, more my question is what is the tip for modern day survival, any centrelink tips, cooking, outings, general tips ad hints most welcolmed, what does it take to survive in a modern world with limited money.

I have been there and raised my daughter since day one...only now i have to stop working im seriously scared.
