Thanks for your response. I have gotten a second opinion and yes he was diagnosed with "mild infant asthma". Asthma comes on through allergies thus Cows milk. He was only on any drugs for a short time and now for the last 8mnths completely drug free.. he is on small amounts of Soy as he needs the calcium supplement and he is doing well. Keeping in mind he was fully breast fed till 17mnths i highly recommend my pedi in Sydney :) Hope your little boy is feeling better soon, goodluck with all the tests.

please be careful my son has been sick for 2 years now, started when he was 4 months of age. lungs kept collapsing and very ill. the pedi said no dairy, wheat, soya, gruten, yeast. but dispite the perfect diet he got worse. asthma isnt going to be brought on from cows milk. new data shows soya is very bad for babies and people ingeneral unless pure soya beens only. give your child just filted water and thats it. dairy is in baked beens, veges, eggs etc your child will never go without the right nutrients... with the asthma get a second oppinion, my son was on a medician for 1.5yrs causing stomach problems that were not found worse now hes been having invasive test under general anesthetic and is due to have a stomach opp because of it and make him better. so be careful with what iofo the pedi and drs tell you. go straight to the specialist drs in sydney

I'm not too sure how to answer your question, what sort of reaction was he having? When i tried to wean my son from breast at 12mnths he develop mild infant asthma(due to the cows milk) and at 17mnths i put him on Soy milk so i could stop the breast. He is now 2 1/2yrs and slowly showing interest in cows but i am still nervous so i supplement it with soy but he also has had no issues with processed dairy foods. i see his Ped late March so i'll see what he recommends. GL :)
