Try QV cream - got rid of facial and shoulder spots on my 5 month old.
Also, you can watch your diet - eliminate salicylates (apples, grapes/sultanas, tomatoes, pineapple, brocolli and citrus - sorry, but organic still has them, unless they're heirloom varieties) and if that doesn't work, go more hardcore to dairy and gluten, but make sure you're getting plenty of fibre from carrots, pears, and potatoes if you're breast feeding.
If you're bottle-feeding, there are a few really good organic brands if the dairy isn't a problem.
I get excerma and my 2 yo daughter got it on her bottom; again eliminating salicylates cured her, as well as QV cream. |

Hi there,
I am a mother of three girls ages six, 22 mo's and my youngest is 10mo's. I have also had problems with my girls having weird rashes. I got so tried of having to drive all the way to the dr's to only find out that it is normal and there is nothing I can do. It is natural to want to help your child, so I looked for alternatives like what was causing their skin to break out shampoo, lotion, body wash, laundry deterents and etc. The toxins in the chemicals were breaking their skin out. So I decided to try what is called Go Green items, natural non toxic products. Since I have been using them no more diaper or skin rashes. They are nothing more than plain WONDERFUL! It is a good thing that I changed up, because later on I read in national news from the associated press, By: Lindsey Tanner,AP Medical Writer, Chicago;that baby shampoos, lotions, creams and powders may expose infants to chemicals that have been linked with possible reproductive problems. The chemicals, called phthalates, are found in many ordinary products, they are used to stabilize fragrances. If this concerns you and it did me, I would suggest researching more into this story if you want and if you would like to try natural products instead there is a site that you can go to get more info: http://www.betterhealthinfo.net/LAT I hope you found this info. useful and I wish you the best of luck from one mommy to another. |

| Hi,Forget the johnson wash at such a young age and try Alpha Keri Bath Oil, followed by Alpha Keri moisturising Lotion. This can be purchesed at the chemist, may seem a little expensive but is brilliant and lasts a long time because a little goes a long way. This is what i use, My son is now 14 mths and has only ever had a little heat rash and has beautiful soft baby skin.May also be something you ate/eat which goes through breast milk and doesnt agree with her or she may be allergic to |

Hi there,
My 1 month old daughter has developed what looks like a rash on her face and neck.
At first, they looked like little red pimples as there was only few of them. Now i have noticed alot more of them on her scalp, especially at the hair line of her forehead, on her eyelids and her neck and ears.
Is this a normal thing? I am living in JP, But Im an Aussie. I was told by many people back home that You should only bathe the baby every second day (gives a day for the skin to settle and produce its natural oils) But here, they insist on bathing the baby every day with shampoo.
Could this rash perhaps be an allergy or reaction to the shampoo (johnsons top to toe wash)
Another factor i was thinking of was it is winter here at the moment, so we have the heaters on all the time, sometimes bubs head gets a little sweaty, could it be a heat rash??
Just to mention, she is both breast fed and bottle fed.
I thought it could have been a reaction to formula, however the hospital started her on formula when she was born, and the rash has only occured within the past 4 days, so I assume The rash has occured due to something else.
Thankyou in advance for any advice!!! |
