I am a mother of four and I found that all of my kids urine had a very strong smell whilst they were teething. They all drank plenty of water so they were definatly not dehydrated. Hope this helps.

Could he be holding it in and not going as often during the day?
If you are worried then a visit to the doctor (who should ask for a urine sample and do tests) should put your mind at ease.

If his pee is not dark it could just be something different he's eaten? Beetroot does the same thing to my nephew!

3 yr olds strong urine smell

My 3 year olds urine has been really strong the past couple of days. He drinks a lot of water and gets a lot of electrolites so I don't think that he is dehydrated. It is not a uti. So what could it possibly be? It smells pretty bad. Any ideas?
