My god you poor thing. I heard of something like this happening to a woman in perth, her surgeon misfired one of the staples when closing her stomach and it caused a leak. She then had to have the stomach repaired. I very strongly think that you need to see another surgeon, what state are you in? Dr Kevin Dolan in Perth is very good as is Dr Talbot in NSW, there are plenty to choose from but get a second opinion.

I have had my bypass for just over 7 months and I eat normally, no vomiting or nausea. I can eat quite big sized meals, so what you are saying is definitely not how you should be feeling.

Please find another surgeon, best wishes to you.

Jen

Long Term Effects of Gastric ByPass Surg Reply to this message
I had Gastric ByPass Surgery 12mths ago and I still cannot eat anything with a consistency of yoghurt. If I try something more substantial I get lots of pain and then vomit it back. I have had extra surgery to see if there is some sort of stricture but there is not. My life as I see it at the moment is completely been wrecked. I cannot go anywhere as I cannot eat. I am very miserable. I was not fully informed of any consequences of the surgery. I have now developed gout not from what I have to eat but because no one informed me that I had to drink lots in the early stages after the operation. I am a diabetic and I do not drink alcohol or eat shell fish the usual cause of Gout. I am interested in finding someone with similar problems to chat with. Or someone who is willing to chat to me about their operation.
