Gabriel is working for me!
Just some encouragement. I bought the Gabriel Method after trying for six months to lose 4kg, or a few centimeters from my measurements after a bit of Christmas indulgence.
I was exercising at least 4 times most weeks (40 mins walk/run or pilates), and eating really well, for the last two months I cut out carbs at dinner times 5 / 7 nights a week. I don't eat red meat more than twice a month. I felt healthy and fit and I actually put on a kilo, but my business dresses and jeans still didn’t fit (waist and hips/bottom/thighs!).
I was getting a bit upset about it, and I think I was starting to tell myself my hard work was doing nothing and I would never fit into my clothes again.
I have been doing Gabriel for about 10 days and have used the tape and body visualisation the last three nights. Last night and again this morning my dresses are fitting again and I will wear them on a business trip next week.
Now when I exercise I actually feel myself in my 'ideal body' and I walk around 'thinking thin'. I honestly believe this has made the difference.
I also think his points about eating late at night becasue you are tired ring very true.
And finally, I am just not enjoying 'dead' carbs as much, and last night when i was hungry after dinner, i cooked up some Chinese Cabbage instead. Now when i eat i really imagine the food nourishing my body.
So good luck to everyone, whether you are trying to ditch a few centimetres or more!

Hi all,
I found your thread while googling around looking for reviews of the Gabriel Method. Based on what I've read here and elsewhere I've decided to give it a try and have ordered the book.
I also tried your forum link with no success, please let me know if you manage to get it running as I would be keen to join if poss. Like many things you do in life, I think weight loss needs the help and support of others, so I would like to find a group of interested people.
I am male, 5'8" (172cm) and weigh 102kgs. I would be quite happy to get down to 80kg so I have a good 22kgs to lose (BMI says I should be 75kg, but I'm a solid stocky build and have never been BMI, even when running marathons in my 20's).
I have found, like many, that dieting doesn't work so I'm really keen to give Gabriel a go.
Thanks for your good posts.

Hi Bush girl
Well done!! 7.8kgs in the first month is amazing - and too not feel hungry would be great.
So for those of us that have not yet grasped it, can you give us an idea of your day?
Food, supplmenmets etc - as you said you jumped in head first... |

Yay!!! I am so happy to find you all again and thank you so much Shazza for emailing me.
I am doing ok, although not noticing to much difference with my food cravings.
Fitness faery I finally worked out how to change the cd to MP3 (really wanst that hard) and i do have to say i sleep like a baby when I listen to it at night.
One issue might be that i dont have my goal photos, I just have a picture in my head - so today i will buy a magazine and cut out a picture of one of the two woman that i want to have a body like... and I will put it beside my bed and make sure I look at it often.
So I take my Inner health plus and Flaxeed Daily (and also Spirilina)
I am having just one protein shake in the mornings and other than that i am not doing to much different. I do eat lots of veggies and always at least two peices of fruit anyways.
Sure I have read the book and love it and will pick it up again this week - but I am not sure what else I should be doing eo feel such a good change? Any suggestions?
I have also signed up to the forum, so see you guys there!!! |

Found You!! Were we playing hide and seek? :-)
So have been following the programme for a fortnight now and have to say that I haven't noticed a heck of a lot of difference size wise.
I have been having the best sleeps though and I think there is a change in my attitude and how I hold myself. I'm starting to feel a bit more like I did when I was smaller (until I catch a glimpse of myself in a reflection...).
Also I'm a bit off food. I'm just not interested in anything that we have to eat.
How is everyone else doing? |

Hi girls, I've been following your messages with glee! So nice to find like-minded people out there! I have been 'on' the method for just over a month. I must admit to jumping in headfirst...I've taken on every suggestion and to my utter surprise I'm just not feeling hungry anymore! I must admit to hopping on the scales, though... but my pants were really baggy and I just wanted to know! I have lost 7.8kg in the first month! But girls, I have quite a bit to loose:(
I understand the alcohol question, but I'm not much of a drinker, so I'm okay there. But what about COFFEE??? I must admit though, that it's just not tasting the same anymore. I, too wished that Jon had told us what and how to eat, but then we'd be on a diet again, wouldn't we???
Lastly, was it only me that cried a river when reading the editors note? Maybe because my husband is one of 'those' thin people...? |

| Hi kaswal, well I don't do "organic" would love to as I believe it is the way to go !! to dear as you said. I just use skim milk as I am not a milk person anyway, and as for the cheese and yogurt I haven't made a change I will be going slowly so as I don't feel like i'm depriving myself and on that roller coaster ride I have been on for sooo long I have started my omega 3 and probotics and I grind my linseed every morning with cereal hope our answers have helped you. |

| Hi kaswal. I think organic is nutritionally superior but I don't think it's really necessary for weight loss. I think the main thing is eating lots of fresh fruit and veggies. I've never seen cows or goats whey powder - or organic for that matter. I did buy some natural (unflavoured) whey but normally you'll have to go with vanilla. Alcohol has it's own issues with the work the body has to do to process it. There are good health reasons for having a small amount of red wine in the diet, but like with everything...all things in moderation. It's really important not to restrict yourself, but to make positive, good choices with the way you fuel your body; choices you can feel happy about. Listening to the cd every night and keeping your goal photo handy will really help. I've found that I've developed a bit of a mantra that I find myself saying throughout the day..."my body wants to be thin, my body wants to be thin..." |

| Hi everyone, i dropped by last week to join you little group and I reveived my book yesterday, have read it all and am very excited to get started! But i just wanted to check with any of you who have allready started if you think organic is REALLY nessesarry to be successfull with weight loss? I find its not easy to come by in shops and it does cost more. Also the sheep and goats milk products, do you all use them instead of cows milk? And one last concern of mine is that there is no mention of alcohol anywhere in the book? We all know that when trying to lose weight alcohol is a bad thing but just wondering if any of you still have a few drinks occassionly and still see good results?? Thanks everyone, look forward to chatting with you soon! |
