I had the same symptoms and fixed the problem with a product called Miracle II. I found it at a health food store......it comes in a clear plastic container and is simply called MIRACLE 11. there is also a cleaner-type product that the same company makes. i take a little bit every day now and it has totally solved the same prolems you have had. I was suffering terribly, just like you. T\hank goodness i found this stuff. i Hope you will try it!

Nessa,
It would be very unlikely you band would have slipped this soon.
Band slippages can occur when the band has been in for a while but as you are newly banded it would be very difficult. you would still have a fair bit of internal swelling.
If you are concerned at all contact you banding doctor or one of his team.

I need info. please. Had my lap-band Nov. 27th, lost 5 pds in 1st wk, then about 4 pds next 3 mos. Had 3 difficult fills not under x-ray, docs had problems locating port and pulling fluid out. Then they decided to do X-ray fill and said port was flipped. Could having flipped port be cause of slow weight loss. Without x-ray how could they know where liquid was going. Under x-ray,they put in 4 mls. Seems like docs were blaming slow weight loss on my eating even though I followed everything dietician plan listed. Seems more likely to me slow weight loss was from fills not working previously cause I really feel this one, almost too much, acquired reflux since last fill. What to do? Should I trust docs?

Hi ka.riley...I have just come on the boards since a year's absence...having had my first band 4 years ago and little real success and have just had a new one....because mine had slipped. I first noticed I could eat the things I use to and was vomitting alot...I couldn't even drink water towards the end, bad reflux, etc, etc....it got so bad and my surgeon ordered a barium meal and could see it had slipped. I now have a new model, 40kgs lost since the first band, so the surgeon had less to deal with this time...and I think my head is in a much better place than it was first time around....I'm really looking forward to a much more successful round this time.. My big mistake was not seeing my surgeon sooner, and if not happy with the one you've got, look elsewhere. Cheers, Debbie

Hi,
This is the address of an international lap-band site. Might find it helpful - they are all really supportive.

Im really panicking. After having my band done in France with good back up from a local surgeon.I know live in Spain and have no support at all.My band does not work I have 6.5 ml fill and can eat one meal a day. In the evening. I have horrendous left sided chest pain which may or may not be associated with the band. No one seems to know. I was refused treatment in the UK being told to return to France to see my Consultant.
Has anyone experienced left sided chest pain at all?
Everyone seems to be having problems. Thank goodness Im not the only one with vile reflux, horrible burping probblems that are so unaceptable when in za room full of people. HELP |

I've had my lap band removed. It was put in 4 years ago and I had trouble from the start. A wonderful surgeon investigated, found their was no pouch, my band was too high. I had it removed. I'll never have one put back. I wish I was one of the sucessful cases. But I wasn't. Make sure you investigate, ask lots of questions, talk to others and use it only as a last resort.
