| Hi affluence65, am almost 44 myself too and it is now or never, had a baby at 40 and got gestational diabetes (injections every day) I'm ok now but it did scare me, had major surgery twice last year and since that the weight piled on. | Hi wallea00, yeas am on 15mg, feel fairly ok but not great appetite wise. Making myself eat to be honest. Still not gone to gym...depends on Thurs weigh in !!! But don't think I have the energy. Think the best thing is give yourself little goals, I have a party 7th Nov, wedding on 28th and then Christmas, I want to start the new year almost there and not "NEW YEAR, NEW DIET". | wow that's great. me too i have been in the gym for a period of time and doesnt lose weight, not a single pound. what's worse is that now i was diagnosed to have patellofemoral syndrome. having unevenly narrowing of knee joints due to overusage of muscles, straineous activities. im on my 2nd day of reductil 10mg. im 157.48 cm and weigh 59 kg, with a BMI of 24. not yet obese but almost there with a line in the weighing scale. so its just okay to take reductil if ur not really considered obese? im also taking vit c and e. is it safe to take multivitamins and supplements? coz right now im taking supplements for my bones. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Hi wallea I too am feeling a bit deflated, this is my 3rd week on them, feel very hungry all the time now, not sure if its the tabs or just becuase its cold and horrible outside.. i havent broke my diet but im a struggling bit time.might ring my doc and see what her says |

| Hi Hillybillychick - I was really good on the week end how ever I am really struggling this week and it is only Tuesday. I'm just not in to it. I'm not exercising and not drinking much water. I just feel so unmotivated. How can we get motivated! |

| Hi hadz22, I too am 157 and weighed in at 76kg, I started on 8th Oct and my goal is 60kg as of today I am 73kg but it's time of month & probably not accurate, I,m taking 15mg too. Sleeping pattern is a bit off and I have a dry sweet taste in my mouth sometimes. I feel fairly ok, a bit giddy sometimes but ok. | hi there, i started at 80kg and will weigh in tomorrow as that will be a week so fingers crossed, i'm 163cm tall so really want to lose 20kg to get me back to what i use to be. the first couple of days i was a little irritable but that seems to have calmed down, really have no appetite and think i could probably go the whole day with practically nothing! but don't, just trying to eat healthy and exercise - how are you going? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Hi jacqueline. just read your post. I see its been a year since you have posted your message. How did you end up going with the reductil, I see you had bad mood swings, did u stay on it. | thankyou mom_of_two_lovely!! well i actually woke up thismorning with a terrible case of the flu which i think explains alot! apart from flu symptoms i seem to be feeling fine again...eating small healthy meals and exercising again! i guess i was just in a pre-flu stage...wanting to eat and sleep and feeling terrible...it all makes sense now! thankgod. lisa |

| Hiya I am new to posting, I don't even know if this is the right way to start communicating with people? I have been reading all the posts and am excited I can share my journey with people on a similar road! Can you please tell me how to start posting etc. Here goes I was a smoker for 17 years and have finally kicked it in the butt! unfortunately though I have gained 10 kilos in the process! I excercise every day and have always been a healthy eater (i do have my vices though lol!) but still with the body changes after smoking still am carrying the extra weight. With steppeing up the excercise and eating 1400 calories a day for 5 weeks, I only lost 1.5 of the gained kilos! This is why I asked for help from my doctor with Reductil to maybe shake my body up (mainly my metabolisim). STATS - 157cm and 72 kilos. GOAL - 62 kilos. I will weigh in with you and seek your support and advice. I am stoked yopu guys are all around and sharing your stories. It's DAY 1 for me, and I'm feeling not hungry and a bit bewildered, but I know it will pass. I have some good advice now, so will try and eat small meals. Hope to talk.... |

| Hi Larien Yea its hard at the weekend isnt.. been hungry the past few days so not sure if the tablets are working or not but will see how I weigh this Friday, only time will tell... Maybe he will keep me on them longer but not sure If I can afford €100 per month on tablets .. have a good week too x |

Yea we both at same!! :) I had a party on sat night too and i did have a few drinks and a bit of the food too so i wasnt a good girl at all!!! :) I dont know about weening myself off of them, i hadnt thought of it to be honest!! When i got the prescription off my doc he said i could try the 10 first and in a few months try the 15mg so i dont think he will stop me after the 3 months if i still need them... I've heard of some people being on them for good few months and their doc was happy to keep prescribing them... I weigh in on wed so i will let u know then! | Hi all Can anyone tell me if they are near the end of their reds and what they are planning to do. i.e when i finished my second month of tablets and for the 3rd and final month Im thinking of taken them every second day? to try and ween myself of them slowly? do you think this is a good ideal, my friend things I should do this on month two but im thinking month 3 will be easier? Any input? Thanks A |

| Good morning Larienagorman So how did the weekend go? I found this weekend hard, with the family get together for lunch on sat and everyone had chinese ( I had an apple :-) ) and then a party on sat and I had a few drinks ( light drinks) and I managed to stay away from the buffet table... SO anyway weighed in on Friday ( could not wait till sat :-) ) and I down another 1.5kilo so that is a total of 5kilo, we have lost the same I think, so its a race to the finish line :-) x A |

| Hi mum of two nice to hear from you, glad your still are doing well, its been a hard few days over the weekend, had a party on Saturday had a few drinks but i stayed away from the hot food being served.... did did not break my diet but found I was very very hungry on sat and sun so was eating more that i was the last two weeks, but non of it was junk food...How are you finding the 15mg? did the 10mg not work for you... dont no if my tabs are working as well as I want them too. i.e reducing the hunger but i will perseve on them. Done a weigh in on Friday and so far im down 5kgs in 15 days so cant complain about that :0) I also agree with you about not starving yourself, i found the last two weeks I harly eat anything but now I have to eat as I was getting weak etc in the gym and when I was out, so I back to 3 small but regular meals a day lots of fruit and water and will see how I do this week... still a long way to go but im a step closer on the ladder.x |

| Hi k_maree. I think 6 kgs in 4 weeks is a very good result and I don't think having days off as long as it's not more than once a week makes any problem. It works for me because i heard from my doctor that body gets use to very low calorie diet and adjusts its needs by taking less calorie that's why after a while you stop losing weight because actually your body is economozing in metabolism, So to be said, a day off after a week or 10 days normally confuses your body and makes it boost calorie burning, also you satisfy your hunger too. It seems you have found the solution for constipation. Just drink more water and go for walking everyday. walking can do magic when it's combined with reductil. But to be honest I did feel terrible when I was on 10 mgs. More side effects and less result for me, that's why I shifted to 15 mgs. and I'm so happy with 3 kgs I lost in 2 weeks. | Hi Karen, my doctor just gave me a script for red-10mgs. I'm trying to find out as much information as I can. i'm a bit concerned about the imsomnia part, as I have to take some medications to get to sleep. I'm about 35kilos overweight, so I'm really desperate to get rid of this excess FAT!! I will remember to eat 3 meals, thanks Julie |
