| Hi cubaanja, that is so true probably because alcohol dehydrates you and you get a false weight loss !! No I think be positive and do the best you can, I had some popcorn and chocs at cinema last night but about quarter of what I'd have had before, and I enjoyed them too |

Hi...I just want to tell you, that your weight can swing 3-4 kg after a night in town with alcohol. The morning after your intake of alcohol the scale will show a weigh lost and the nexst coppel of days it will seem like you have gained exstra waight 2-4 kg. This is my own experience :-) as i like a night out in town sometimes. However if you can manage only to drink ½ a bottele of wine., it will not affect your weight the same way.
best of luck |

Hi ali
thanks for you words of advice, I do agree that we cant lose weight every week, sure if that was the case we would all eat like pigs and then take some diet pills. When I was actually in Ww one of the things we learnt was that weight lose come in many differt ways inches scales and also mentally funny as that may sound but if you feel like your losing weight you will try harder and if you feel like your failing you will get lazy...
I do agree also that if I havent started my weight loss now I could be heavier by now... so going to give myself monthly goals instead of weekly so i dont get so hung up on the scales but will weigh every second week.
9.5kg is a great weight loss so congrats on that, hope i do as well , us woman will never be 100% happy with our bodies, I just want to be 90%!!
Take care

Hey guys... Well I have been on Reds for around 6 weeks and have lost 9.5kg... still have around 20kg to go but I am getting there...
But Adamkelly... I had a few weeks with lil to no weight lose and found that my body shape was changing and do believe that the inches may have been changing... I dont do my measurements all the time so it is a little bit had to say.
Wallea00 - You are doing well... keep your chin up, You will have up's and downs... Trust me I was like WHY am I paying for something that is not helping... but then I think if I wasn't doing this... What might I actually weigh now and it would def be more than when I started.
Like I said I have been on these for 6 weeks and I have not always stuck to a perfect diet plan... and I have only exercised around 5 days out of the whole 6 weeks... You can all do it... The Reds will help but it does come down to your own will power... My partner is a bit of a fitness freak (god knows how we ended up together I HATE exercise) and one thing he always says to me is if you want to eat something have it... but have it in control. So if you want a piece of chocolate, have it but stick to A PIECE not a block...
You ladies should not be so hard on yourselves... be proud of your achievements. Look at the positives. You are already on the right track but sometimes the right track might have some bumps or even some detours.
So keep smiling, hold your head up and think about how much better you feel already only a few kg lighter and how it will be when you are at goal weight. If that doesn't help, get a bag a put what ever weight it is you have lost and carry it around with you all day... I am sure you will appreciate how much 5kg or even 2kg can feel on top of your every day weight.
Keep going all of you, you are all inspirational!!!!
Luv Ali xx |

Hi hillbillychick,
I was just reading your post and was thinking...maybe your not eating enough?? what would be your typical day of eating? Would u know how many calories your consuming? Its just if you dont eat enough, your body thinks its going to starve so it stores every bit of fat it can and burns calories slowly so if u eat 3 substantial meals, your body will think there's plenty of food on the way so it'll start burning off the calories again... I just said id share that with you, i read it on another weight loss site...
Dont get disheartened, your doing great!! |

| Hi wallea00, I don't know if I'm happy or sad this week, don't know what I expected. I knew it would not be the 2.2kg every week obviously but wated about 6kg off for the month. I am on 15mg and not losing more than yourselves, and eating 2 proper meals one smaller one and yogurt in between. Not great on the water though.I shouldn't feel down , maybe I expect too much too soon, slowly off and stay off longer!!! |

Hi wallea
Yea like you im eating three meals a day as well, feeling hungry after about two hours after eating but im not caving in..Yes I did lose a lot in the first two weeks and nothing this week but its this that is keeping me going, Yes let me know how you get on with the 15mg.. I might be on them next month as well.. wonder if the side effect will come back??
Yes just had a look at the calendar and think that I may be retaining fluid at the moment so not going to give up and undo all my good work this week.. will try more excerise this week if my knee holds up gets me motivated, but i think im might be losing inchs as well so all is good... have a horrible taste in my mounth as well so drinking lots of water...
How much more do you think you would like to lose? are you setting yourself a goal date? i would like to be 2 stone down for Chrismtas (12.6kg) so far 11kg down so another 11.6 to go...... Wonder if we will look at ourself's in the mirror on Christmas and say " well you did it" lets hope so :-)
Yes I also think its great to read others stories and see how people are get on becuase they understand what your going through, and you dont feel so bad if you had a bad weight lose week
Take care

Hi Adamkelly,
I am eating 3 meals a day plus 2 snacks. I have been following weight watchers. I have done minimal exercise over the month. I just cant stand exercising, but I am going to force myself this month.
The reds dont seem to have suppressed my hunger as much as they have for you. I'm probably eating half of what I was eating before. But I do eat at every meal. It will be interesting to see how I respond to the 15mg.
Yeah I may need to take them for 6 months. I;m just going to see how I go. I know I'm not ready to stop them yet, thats for sure. But it is good to know that if I want to remain on them for six months I can.
I think weighing your self monthly is a brillant idea. I was really disheartened the first 2 weeks when I didnt lose large numbers. I was feeling really ripped off as I new I was being really strict about what I was putting in my mouth (even though I was not exercising).
I am now content with the 5.5kg even though others like yourself have had greater success in a shorter period of time (congratulations).
I think you will definitely reach your goal of 1 stone for the month. You are probably just retainning fluid at the moment.
Thanks for your support by the way. It is really helping being able to chat to people to understand. |

Hi wallea
Well that is very good result for a month, do you think you might need to take them for 6 months? sure its handy to have the prescription at hand..
Im have still no weight lose this week but still 5kg down but im going to wait till day 30 to weight again so I dont get disheartned im on day 22 so that give me 8 days to lose the other 1.35kgs which was my target for the month (I wanted to try and lose one stone in the month) just have to try harder but If i eat any less I will fall down with the hungry, are you eating normal size meals 3 times a day?

Hello again, I decided to get the script today. i asked for a two week supply, one chemist said yes, then a bossy boots said no. Oh well i have a friend who can take them if they dont suit. So I'm starting tommorow. I dont have anything planned for a week so hopefully the side effects will work itself out. I really want this medication to work, as I posted before I'm 98 kilos. So I would ideally like to get down to 65-70. I know its a big wish. I will try and only weigh in every Friday.
Cheers

Hillbilly,
Congrats, Yeah I don't plan on being on them for that long either. Originally I thought I would stay on them for 3 months.
I'm just going to see how I go. |

| Hi wallea00, weighed in with only 1kg down this week so 3.2kg in 2 weeks not bad considering as time of month too. Am hoping to get 2 more months repeat not sure if i want to take it more than 3 months but I guess it will depend on my overall loss and how I feel. Need to drink more water, not really able for gym as I'm not sleeping great and abit tired. 5.5 is great you are doing well hope at the end of my first pack I'll have done as well. Onward as another week starts!!! |

Hi hillbilly / adamkelley / everyone,
It is day 30 on the reds for me today, and I had my 4 week checkup at the doctors. I have lost 5.5kg in total so far. I was very pleased with my results as I didn't lose a great deal of weight in the first 2 weeks.
The doctor gave me a script with 6 repeats (6 month supply) which I was shocked by. She also upped my dosage from 10mg to 15mg which I was relieved about because I feel they have lost a little effectiveness over the last few days. The doctor wanted to see me to check my blood pressure. Apparently one of the side effects she was worried about was my blood pressure rising. It turns out that my blood pressure has in fact gone down.
Going to the doctor today has actually boosted my motivation. Hopefully this boost in motivation will inspire me to do more exercise.
How did you weigh in go hillbilly? |

| Hi juliebrennan - I don't know your location, but I'm in Australia, and I was able to obtain a 7-day trial pack from my GP before I spent the $$ to fill the script. I don't have any mental health issues, but thought if this was possible for you, it may be an option? Good Luck with your weight loss with whateer happens :o) |

Hi all, I went to the gp to get a script for the reductil. I havent gotten it yet from the chemist. I spoke to the pharmacist about if its safe to take the reductil as I was concerned about all the side effects. Since I have a history of mental illness the pharmacist recommended me not to take it. I am disapointed as I was really hoping to take the reductil. So I'm not sure what to do. Is there anyone else with mental health issues who is taking reductil. I was thinking of just trying it just to see but feeling a bit nervous about it.
Cheers |

| Hi everyone, im on reds 3 weeks today and i weigh in with a loss of 6.5 kgs...thats a loss of 1.5 kgs this week. I plan on being really good this weekend because im back to the docs next week... It is disheartening when u dont see a loss on the scales but stay positive...if u fall off the band wagon now, it might be harder to get back on! I've often felt like, oh why bother when its not working, but its the effort as a whole that will make a difference, not just week to week scale measurements. Anyway hope everyone's doing ok,xxx |

hello everyone...
just thought i would add my 2cents worth here, i am currently on 15mg and for the first 2 weeks as some of you would have noticed in one of my entries i had lost a considerable amount of weight(11kg) in what i believe was achieved in a short period of time ... This loss was achieved with a 4 meal diet. breaky, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and working on my feet for 8hrs picking up boxes all day..
My point is, that i believe my brain has been able to adapt to this mind altering drug and thus i am feeling hungry again, or should i say feel the erg to feed again...basically it really has been more will power and keeping busy so that the drug does its job properly and keeps the brain thinking its satisfied, but when i retrieve back to doing nothing i find the need to eat. perhaps i may be water logged or w/e, maybe giving the body a big does of carbs has led to a 2 kilo gain...
well back to work tomorrow, hope buy Sunday i have lost these 2 kg and lost more...
i'm thinking the body is out smarting me, even though i was trying to trick it by introducing carbs, cause really u dont want to completely cut it out cause whenever u introduce it again it will go straight to ur fat cells, unless u really work it off...keep u posted
ps...i may try *** whatever its called, if i feel that the tablets is no longer working like it was...
good luck all, keep u posted sun coming |
