i have been on reductil for about 4 days now...but i still feel hungry every 3 hours or so and i don't feel as though i feel any fuller when i eat the same amount...is there anything special you're supposed to be doing to get them to work?
im 165 cm and weigh 95 kg i have a bmi of 36, i hve been gymming for 6 months at least 3 times a week and lost 15kg without reductil bt then it plateaued so my doctor told me to try reductil, and i've stepped up the gym to 5 days a week...and i try to eat healthy but i don't know what else to do... |

| This is my 5th day of reductil 15mg. Working ok to suppress my hunger, but the biggest difference is that I don't think about food all day every day like I normally do!! Have to remind myself to eat. Yukky taste in the mouth 'though, and the other side effect I'm suffering is the INSOMNIA!! Was awake til about 3am last night and even then I kept waking up for the rest of the night. I'm on night shift tonight - starting at 9 and finishing at 7am, so I guess I'll be wide awake at least!! Started at 79kg, with a BMI of 29.7, but have strong family history of weight related medical problems(both parents diabetic, parents and brothers with high blood pressure). Would love to be under 65kg, with BMI about 24. |

Yeah, not sure about the Speed link, although it's strange that it was raised, because when I was talking to my doctor he mentioned another medicine that was very similar to speed and said that he wouldn't recommend it... can't remember the name of it now...
I think the main link with speed and Reductil, is that they both have similar effects - lots of energy, raised heart rate levels and appetite supression (when have you ever seen a fat speed addict?!)... whilst similar results, speed is obviously a lot more dangerous as you dont have a chemist mixing it, and its mixed with hallucgens and other potential nasties |

OK - so yesterday was day 1 on Reductil (10mg).
I do take ecstacy when I go out partying, so I know the effects that it can have on the body. The effects I got from taking Reductil were somewhat similar, in that I got really "excited" (tapping my feet, lots of energy, etc). It took about an hour to start and lasted for about 3 hours until I felt more normal levels of energy again.
Was amazing how I didn't feel hungry for the entire day. When I did it, I only ate half what I normally would, as I felt really full.
What I really noticed was my bad eating habits! I wasn't hungry (thanks to the Reductil), but there was food in the fridge, and it was "dinner time" so I ate. If it wasn't for the habits, I could have easily gone longer without food. So today, I'm cleaning out all the junk food in the house and stocking up on fruit and veges!
Just had my pill for today and have a big breakfast/brunch planned with a mate in a couple hours so will see just how hungry I am then.... |

"The main acting ingredient in reductil is sibutramine hydrochloride- which is a stimulant that is chemically related to amphetamines."
Just like to clarify that this statement is totally false. Sibutramine Hydrochloride is not a stimulant at all, and it is definitely not related to amphetamines. It is a serotonin and noradrenaline uptake inhibitor, and uptake inhibitors are not amphetamines.

Hi Caboodalz - i didnt even know a 30mg strength existed. i know you can get the 10mg and 15mg ones. but even googling i can't find them - do you actually mean the 15mg ones pack of 30?
I have to say though i dont think it is wise to see these as in australian they are only available by prescription and under medical supervision for good reason. i know people who have ended up in ER due to adverse reactions (i've had great success and no issues with them so not saying they are bad to take, just that you need to be prescribed them). imagine if you sold them to someone and then that person ended up in hospital or dead (in the worse case) just because you feel you've wasted $90!
sorry to lecture you but this is something i really feel strongly about.
good luck with things
cheers maidagirl |

| Hi there i use to be on and found them really good i didn't get the "speed" effect just the suppressed appetite and lost quite a bit however this time around i thought i would give the reductil 30mg a try but after the 4th day i found it wasnt as great suppressing my appetite as the so wasted 90 bucks on these i guess for some people these work differently such as my sister and friend who had great success on these and they both reached their goal weight but for me and my hungry tummy lol i need something stronger so if anyone wants to buy my packet of reductils off me you can send me a msg to caboodalz@yahoo.com.au and ill post them out to you it is a packet of 30 minus 4 that i took and they are of the strongest dose 30 mg so please only if you have taken these before and only if you really need to lose alot of weight then you can contact me and ill post them out to you. |

Hi! I was a reductil user, too. Before I used it, my weight is 61kgs over my height of 4 feet 11 inches. According to my BMI computation, I am already an obese. For health reasons, and because I want to look pleasant to the eyes of my husband, I religiously took every pill.
After taking in 40 pills, I got my ideal BMI of 24.6 (normal), which means I already lost 5kgs! So i stopped.
Right now I'm just trying my best to maintain my weight of 56 kgs.
I decided to stop because I already noticed some changes in my body like the pain in my back (nape part). Also, I became constipated.
Anyways, Reductil really helped me. I had impressed all of my friends because of the figure I have now. I can also wear the type of clothes I like.
I just need to go back to my doctor for another lab test. |

Hi All
I went to the doctor yesterday and got myself my first ever prescription of Reductil - 10mg
I am 175cm's tall, and weight 88kg, which puts me in the "overweight" category (http://www.kraft.com.au/ HealthyLiving/HealthCheck Tools/HealthyWeightRange. htm)
I know I could do more exercise, but never seem to have time and/or energy. However, my biggest problem at the moment is that I am ALWAYS hungry, so hoping that Reductil will help with that.
I used to weight over 110kg's about 3 years ago, and after starting a new job, I started worked crazy long days and never ate as a result, which saw me shed the kilo's very quickly. It also meant that I didn't have to work hard for it, and didn't have a true appreciation for how easy it was to put it back on again.
I've got lazy over the last 2 years and the kilo's have started creeping back on, which brings me here.
I've never weighed myself - I've always gone by how good I look and feel, how my clothes fit and how much energy I have... these days I'm a tight 14 and a little low on energy.
My doctor has given me 1 months presription of 10mg Reductil, I take a daily multi-vitamin, and i'm on the pill. Will keep you all updated on my progress, and what I feel as I go.
Fingers crossed it turns out well! =) |

| Hi all. I havent written in awhile. 3rd week on reductil have gone from 80kg to 74kg so im feeling quite good could lose more with a little more excercise. Go back to docs on 17th of this month for check up and hopefully get a new prescription because for my height healthy weight range is at least 60kg or less. Only side affect is trouble sleeping. Up and down most nights but i also blame that on the heat in cairns at the moment. So will see what happens when i go to doc next. Good luck to you all and will post again with update soon. |

Hello every-one (my fellow reductil fans)
This is my first time here on this forum and my first day in taking red. I'm 83kg now and hope to loose around 20kg..I have taken duro's before and lost over 20kg and managed to keep it off for over 3 years until I had my Two little champs. Kids love them but gee they sure make your body change and well mine for the worst I'm afraid. I thought about going back onto duro's but found this site and read about reductil and thought it sounded so much better for you, so here I am first day of taking 15mg so let the journey begin loosing weight as we speak lol bring it on. will keep you all up dated and love reading about all your success stories they are great good luck every one |

hi Leezarangi - i'm not sure about mixing blood pressure medication with reductil so you need to look at natural ways -
natural ways are:
* no tobacco (smoking) or alcohol
* reduce salt intake - both adding table salt and processed foods
* exercise - including yoga
* meditation or relaxation techniques.
* drink lots of water and eat a lot of celery
* laugh
* listen to calm music just ebfore your doctors appointment next time
* and also acupunture can lower blood pressure - both the systolic and diastolic readings. o would definitiely go talk to a acupuncturist asap becuase you may need a couple of sessions.
good luck
