Hi marielouise & everybody,

Well it's been 1 week today, and I must admit I'm feeling a bit disappointed, because I was heavier today than when I weighed myself mid-week. So to recap, I started at 67.6kg, then mid-week went down to 65.3 and this morning am 65.9. So I guess a total loss of 1.7kg so far. I don't know, maybe it's muscle because I've been eating much much less than I used to, and am exercising every day. I was hoping to lose at least 2.5kg. Also last night I was trying on some clothes as am going out tonight (office party.... I don't even want to think about all the food and drink there'll be!!) and I was horrified to see that absolutely nothing fit. Just the pair of jeans I've been wearing to everything. I honestly feel like I'm expanding instead of losing. My optimism has taken a big bruising. And to make it all worse, I decided to try on my "goal" jeans, the ones that used to fit me like a glove when I weighed 54kg. I thought that at least I'd be able to pull them all the way up, but sadly not even that...they got stuck at my hips.. to think that I thought I'd get into them by May.. yeah right. I should never have tried them on, because now my goal has never felt more out of reach.

Sorry for the really downbeat posting... am feeling sorry for myself today, and hard done by. But I cannot give up, when the only other alternative is to continue putting on weight and not being able to wear my nice clothes.

Hi there

I too have PCOS coupled with Celiacs disease. Both diagnosed within the last 6 months.

Im doing a program at Gym called Body for Life its a 12 week program training 6 days a week. Im at week 5 this week. Coupled with Body for life Ive been taking 10mg for 4 weeks now.

So far Ive not lost a single thing on the scales and measurements have only changed slightly nothing compared to some of the people doing the course.

Im not sure if 10mg is working or not so considering uping to the 15mg before I start rocking in a corner.

Food for me is not a problem I dont over indulge and I eat 5 meals a day all consisting of Carb and protein. Since being on 10mg Ive had to make a concerted effort to keep up my good eating habits otherwise Id just skip meals all together.

Im not kidding myself, Im doing the right things and I just cant seem to shift this weight no matter what I do.

Guess I'll just keep hacking away.

hi, read your message, yes u would go back to initial weight if u stop reductil, unfortunately. i am on it for 5 yrs and did try every possible variations - no kidding - ones u stop=u gain it all back. so i just go along and take it. have had brilliant 5 yrs, did not loose any more after plateaued :) (96 to 72-73) and as i say "1 capsule a day keeps kilos away". i'll take it as long as i would be able to pay for it or get a prescription, because it does let me be NORMAL and eat all i want including chocolate every day, AND IT DOES KEEP MY IRRITABLE BOWEL SINDROME under control.

hey everyone, i have been on reductil for 5 yrs+ and never looked back. take 15m every day, no matter what, eat everything, really, and do not do any special exercises - it does keep weight steady 72kg/172cm 45 y/o. if i want to loose more i just start walking. god bless the one who invented this! any one who has taken them long time, please share experience.cheers

Hi Marielouise.. so sorry you not well, and hope u get back on yr feet really soon! I wish you the very best of luck when you start the reds again. I'm feeling a bit guilty today because I drank 2 lagers in the afternoon, sitting in the sun.. but at least I haven't touched cookies or chocolates yet, so that's a really big improvement for me.

Enjoy Gozo... I love it so much there. I think it's so important to keep an image fixed in one's mind of your goals and what you wish to achieve.. e.g looking good in a new bikini. We just have to take it day by day, and like you said, not think that we have to lose this whole bunch of weight. We'll take it one day at a time, one kilo at a time. Good luck marielouise and everyone else reading this.

This is an amazing thread!
I have recently started a blog with my experiences, and a lot of information about Reductil. If you have any questions, please leave comments under posts and i will get back to you asap. I have lost 1.2 stone with Reductil over a 2 month period. All I am trying to do is spread the word of Reductil, and let others see the same success I have experienced.

Hi,Have read this forum from the start and got the courage to ask for a prescription for reductil.
Started 6 days ago have lost 6lb ! Slight sleep disturbance for 2 nights , but its worth it!
My doctor stressed that they are no good unless you make a realistic lifestyle change from day one i.e. planning for the future when you are happy with your weight. So I am doing 30 min fast walk every day, as I know I wouldn't keep up going to a gym etc.
I find great motivation from logging in and reading everyone's experience. Good luck !!

hey tig, hey ppl,

so how are you all? im not very good since i ve got the flu and im stucked in bed!!! im having antibiotics for the cough, headaches etc. it really sucks seeing the good weather outside and i have to stay in bed since i dont have the energy to stay on my feet!!!:(
so yesterday i went to the doc, and told her all my thoughts regarding the reds. i told her that its been 3 weeks now without them and my weight is playing between 85 and 87kg. i haven t weighed myself this week anyway as soon as i feel better im going to measure myself. i cant wait. well the doc told me that once i finish my antibiotics i can start the reds again!!! yiiippiii!!! so by next week (saturday) i guess i should start again. i cant wait.

so tig im 20 years old and im 165cm tall. my weight in the begining was 93kgs! and when i started the reds i went down to 86 kgs in 3 and a half months. but then i stopped like for a month without dropping off more so the doc told me to stop tehm so that my body will not get used to them. now im 85 or 85.5 kgs dont know exactly cause i have to weight myself. since i have the flu im hoping that maybe i dropped at least another 1kg lol. we ll see. my target is 65kgs so thats a lot i guess but im not seeing that target otherwise i will lose hope and dont manage to continue. what i m looking at are some bikinis which i like very much and also saying that in the next month i should lose 5kgs. i find it easier to go month by month than by how much kilos i still have left.
so i keep you posted. cant wait for nxt week also because im going to gozo for the weekend!! so the following monday should be fresh start a new me!

gl all

Hey Tele, yes I must say my energy levels have never been higher, although right now I'm feeling dozy after having spent the entire afternoon sitting in the sunshine with friends and... confession.. drank 2 beers! (1 pint in total).. oh well it had to happen I guess. I suppose if I allow myself little treats along the way, I'll stay on my diet for longer.
I reckon I've lost about 2.7kg in less than a week which I think is great if I can keep it up. Having said that, I know through experience that in the beginning it's easier to drop in weight since initial loss may be simply fluid and not fat loss. This morning my partner and I went on a really tough, fast walk on rough terrain, with loads of uphills - a whole hour! I felt so energised and good about myself afterwards. I didn't think I'd have the stamina for it but I surprised myself! I even jogged for the last bit and ended the final stretch with a sprint! Yay me : ) And then of course I had to go have those beers... lol that's so typical. Tomorrow I think I'll follow the same route again if the weather's fine. Beautiful sunny spring day here in Malta today... glad you like our island.. maybe you'll come visit one day!

Sup, Tig! How's it going?

Is 22 young? Because that's how old I am. Haha. Malta looks awesome, by the way. I just googled it and found amazing pictures.

Raisins ARE rather addictive. D: They're so delicious and sweet. That's why I buy these little pre-packaged boxes and tell myself that I can only eat two a day, max. I have tuna on wholegrain bread + black coffee for breakfast most of the time and I'm getting a little tired of it, so I might try out that Nestle Fitness cereal as well, thanks!

I'm feeling like the longer I go without eating too much food, the more energy I have - do you have the same experience? Btw, I went to the gym today and dropped to 68.4kg, yay. I hope things are going well for you too!

Re:Reductil( does it work)?? ne1 know?? Reply to this message
Hi Tanya! Well it all depends on how tall you are I guess. For example I'm only 155cm (5ft1) and my ideal weight should range between 50-55kg. That's why I'm on Reductil, because I have about 13kg to lose (well more like 11 now!!) I wouldn't take it if I only had the odd kilo or two to lose. Good old diet and hard slog exercise is probably the best way to go if you only have a minimal amount to lose. Having said that, the Red could also help you to break bad snacking habits, because it keeps you feeling quite full for most of the day. So how tall are you and what's your target weight goal?

Hey tele, I'm in Malta, small island in the Mediterranean. From your post you sound like you're still quite young, whereas I'm 37. How old are you?

Snacking on steamed veg/raisins is a very good idea, although it wouldn't work for me. I'm not too keen on steamed veg and once I start on the raisins I don't trust myself to stop at just a few. Same with nuts. So I've decided to eliminate snacks completely, and not eat between meals as far as I can help it. I've always been told that eating little and often is a far better way to lose weight than to stick to 3 meals a day. And I love to graze. But I realised that little snacks every few hours increase my appetite considerably. Now with the reds I feel I have it more under control and I'd rather just have 3 small meals a day instead. E.g this morning I had a small bowl of Nestle Fitness cereal into which I poured one Actimel instead of milk (Actimel is a yoghurty drink which helps improve one's immune system); lunch was a small chicken wrap; and I believe dinner is going to be a small portion of baked pasta. And am going to try going for a brisk 40 min walk before dinner, even though I know I won't feel like it!! I'll just think of how satisfied I'll feel when I return, and that should get me out the door.

Yay, diet buddies! 8D Oh, it's the same with me with badminton, except I've recently gotten people to play with me again. My entire body aches (good aching though) after I play. XD I'm from Singapore, you?

I eat when I'm bored, which is pretty much all the time, especially when I'm watching TV. I go nuts with the eating all weekend because I stay at home where all the food is and my dad likes to ply me with huge meals. We have similar problems? XD In an attempt to curb the snacking I started out by substituting my normal snack foods with steamed veg/raisins - I've grown to really love them - and slowly cutting down the portion until I manage to sit through a bunch of shows without reaching for say, the ice cream or w/e.

Knitting seems like a great idea. I would, if I could, but I guess I have my homework to occupy myself with.

Oh hey, randomly -- skinnyr.com (http://www.skinnyr.com/) is really convenient for keeping track of your weight. :D

Good luck with the coming weekend!

Re:Reductil( does it work)?? ne1 know?? Reply to this message
Yeah Tele that would be great! : ) I used to play badminton too, but when I was much much younger! Great game. For me the greatest challenge when dieting is not giving in to nibbling, for example, while I'm cooking, or preparing my daughter's school lunches. There I am slicing cheese, one slice for the sandwich, and one for me! Where are you from incidentally?

I'm curious to see how I'm going to fare this weekend, my first weekend on Reds. Weekends typically raise a red flag for me because we tend to eat two square meals a day on Saturday and Sunday, with lots of snacking on chocs, crisps and biscuits in between! However I am taking this on as a challenge. Let's face it, reds aren't cheap, so the fact that I've forked out the money on them, makes me that bit more determined not to sabotage their work.

A common pitfall for me, and I believe almost everybody, is snacking in front of the TV at night. There again I have prepared a battleplan hehe.. I have taken up knitting again, which serves the triple purpose of (1) keeping my hands occupied (this also helps tremendously with cutting down on smoking); (2) not gonna touch food with my hands or would get wool dirty; (3)got an early start on this year's Christmas presents! (I'm sure my relatives will be delighted with their woollens.. evil cackle..LOL)

Heyo, Tig. We could check back with each other during our diets; I'd like that. :) I was feeling bloated from all the PMSing when I started, I think, hence the big jump in weight. I usually fluctuate between 71 and 69, and that drives me a little crazy because I can't seem to get past that plateau. Been going to the gym and playing badminton quite a bit lately though, so fingers crossed or something. Haha. My target weight's 59kg.

Hi Telecast - I'm especially interested in your progress because we started on the same day. 3kg in 3 days is truly remarkable!! What's your target weight?

@ Gilly - I agree with telecast, it's probably muscle weight. Are your clothes fitting you any better because that's the best way to gauge your status. Scales fluctuate but clothes stay the same!!

Day 4 and time for my first weigh-in, because I've decided it's going to be Tuesdays and Fridays. Starting weight Tuesday 10th March - 67.6kg, Friday 13th - 65.3kg! So that's good. Although the drastic drop could be because of yesterday's fasting, due to this morning's blood tests. The real test will be Tuesday's 1 week weigh in, after the weekend.

I'm on my third day and it's still surprising when I don't crave for food at all. Eating used to be such a big part of my day that it's just strange when I don't even stop to consider it anymore. XD Stopped by the gym yesterday and worked out for a good two hours. I'm down to 69kg from 72kg. Not feeling any of the side effects whatsoever at this point.

Hey, Gilly. It could be that you're gaining muscle while you're working out? Muscles are heavier than fats, so it may seem that the number on the scales are higher when in fact you've become slimmer. :) Don't lose hope!
