hi h_kennerley
I started the same day as you, how are you finding it so far?
I also have around 25kg to 30kg to loose to get within a healthy bmi range. - i am not aiming for "skinny" i like my curves, but i want to be thinner and need to be healthier |

Well done for your weight loss.. i would kill to be 67kg (around 10.5 stone i believe), i feel like i have been killing myself to get down to that, well up until i started taking reductil and now the hunger is gone and the low cal diet seems achievable now.
I am really surprised that your doctor gave you reductil considering your start out weight, i have had an uphill battle with my doctor to get it. Im currently 93kg (14.5 ish stone) and i am aiming for 80kg before mid june.
Anyway, good luck with getting down to your ideal weight. |

Thanks Berni! I'm looking forward to going out tonight.. although because the Reds are keeping me awake at night I only got about 3.5hrs sleep last night & as a result am dead beat after a whole day at the office.. Let's hope a shower will revive me!
Re starting weight.. I was 67.6kg when I started.. but then I borrowed another set of weighing scales because mine were a bit dodgy and kept giving me different readings within seconds of each other. But anyway on the original scales I now weigh 60.7kg whereas on the newer scales I weigh 59.7kg (guess which I'd like to believe! LOL).. so am basing the amount lost on the original scales' reading because I don't have a starting weight on the newer scales of course. However I aim to solve this dilemma by the end of May when I'm going to London and there will by myself a proper set of scales, the Tanita ones I believe are super accurate and even give you other readings like body fat, water retention amount, etc. My goodness if it takes me so long to weigh myself in the morning using my two scales, can you imagine what it's going to be like on the Tanita ones? I probably come across as being really obsessed with each tiny amount lost... but as you all know it's so difficult to lose and I celebrate each tiny amount because it's LESS not more. Good luck with your loss... what's your starting weight and goal? I'm aiming for a reasonable 54kg (am only 155cm, or 5ft 1.5in).. anything less would of course be magic. |

| Hi ..me again! Been quite a while since my last post..but it's all good! Been on Reds since March 10 now, so about 6.5 wks..weight loss so far..about 6.5kg! So am pretty much on track. I still would like to lose another 6.5 though. Half way there! Best thing though is fitting back into my old clothes, & now my ultimate goal of getting back into my skinny jeans doesn't feel that far away! I owe this loss to far less food intake + more exercise, though these past few days have so busy that it was impossible to squeeze in exercise. But at least I didn't stop losing. I was thinking of stopping Reds after my 2nd packet, but now I'm not so sure..maybe I'll go for the 3rd until I reach my goal. Finally people are beginning to notice my loss. At first it was just close family, & the loss was mostly off my face, but now even colleagues are beginning to take notice. Also I'm loving the fact that I feel like I'm getting my groove back if you know what I mean..no longer reluctant to go out, no longer afraid of trying on my clothes & trying on item after item in despair..tomorrow night am going to reward myself bigtime - going out on the town with some friends who I've not seen since New Year's, & I managed to fit into a party dress which I had bought in 2007..and never wore! Reason was that it was small when I bought it but was such a good price that I figured I'd get into it maybe 1 day..but that day never came and instead I got bigger and bigger..until now that is! I tried it on last night and it fit perfectly..& then as I was smoothing it down over my body, I realised that I had put it on without undoing the zipper!! How great is that!!! Sorry but am really excited about finally finding something that works for me. However I must add that am still bothered by constipation & lack of sleep. I hope you all here achieve your goals, as I continue to work towards mine. Best wishes everyone and we'll encourage one another along the way. Onwards and downwards people! |

Hey Bern...
Stick with it I promise it will get better. I only walk and I do it for about 30 to 40 mins 4 times a week. My eating. I've been using www.calorieking.com it tells you how many calories you should have and water and other things like protien, carbs, fat. I find it great. I log my food in it everyday. I try to stick to around 1200 calories and up my proties and try to lower my carbs. Protien keeps you fuller longer and take more energy for you body to burn. I do eat carbs for body fuel though so I start the day with 1 slice of toast and 3 pieces of low fat eye bacon and 2 eggs. The next day I have special K advantage. I like to mix it up a bit so my body doesn't used to one food.....I hope this helps .....keep me updated. We can do it

It was a good 7 to 8 days before I stopped wanting to eat everything not nailed down. don't give in though it get way better. I thought that the tablets wern't going to work for me but they do and hunger is not a problem now and I never crave anything either.

Hi again ..well its been 1 week and lost 1kg...but my major side-effect is trying to stay awake in the afternoon...
When it comes to about 2-3pm I am really fighting to keep my eyes open...Does anyone have thoughts on why this might be happening? It started the 1st day and continues every day so far... Very keen to hear people's thoughts.. |

I have just started taking Reductil yesterday and was wondering if anyone has felt really sick after taking the tablet and if so, how long does this feeling sick last? Does this go away after a few days? Good to see that other people have had success with reductil. Hope I will too!!

| Hi Everyone, You guys are all doing so well. Keep up the great work guys. I have a question for you? Would anybody have any problem with my joining your forum. I am not on reductil, but have been reading your posts for the last few weeks from the beginning (when i debated whether to use it or not) decided against it mainly due to the cost and having tried so many other pills over the years including duramine. Have looked into other weight loss forums, but u guys are so supportive of each other, so even tho it sounds silly joining when i"m not on reductil we're all in the same boat, wanting to lose weight eh? One more thought anybody out there on a plateau or wanting a tip: Have any of you tried cider vinegar and honey? Have been on this for 2 days and lost 2 kgs, mostly water probably but will wait and see. Sorry for long post. Keep up the great work and remember: Nothing tastes as good, as looking good feels. |

Hey Need to lose
Im really well, stopped losing weight for the time, I think probably due to not exercising as much been housesitting and busy with family
My one downfall is I never stop thinking about losing weight, maybe if I relaxed it wouldn't be so difficult lol Dubai was awesome but Egypt even better, it really changed my whole life- or maybe I was just really ready to let go of baggage and start a fresh new lease on life a little of both perhaps,I loved Egypt I cannot wait to go back there
That is so exciting that you are planning a family! I will send lots of positive thoughts your way.. I am looking forward to hearing some good news from you soon .. send me an email at ladysarebear@yahoo.com I check that more regularly than here these days..
Sorry for my late reply, I keep getting tied up with other stuff.. I look forward to hearing from you soon with hopefully good news!! I will always be a keyboard away if you ever need motivating!!! :) |

HI Bern
I was starving for the first week. It was like my body was burning up everything I put into it. Stick with it though it gets better. Now rarely get hungry and fill up quickly and i'm on my end of week 12. My first 4 weeks I lost 8kg. I hope this helps
Goodluck
