| Hi everyone i started on the reds in early march i was on the for month and was suprised at my lack of hunger lol! i am now on my second packet of 15mgs and my starting weight was 17st 8pounds and now to date i am 16st 2pounds i am so chuffed it hasnt been easy so far as i have had to routine exercise into my lifestyle which i have found difficult as i have a very demanding daughter lol she has autism which can be so draining and i have a 2yr old little boy but they keep me going! ;) this site is great i check it every couple of weeks for updates on peps progress and thought i should share mine. I love exercise now and i have ust purchased 2 exercise bikes one for me and my hubby so we can exercise together in front of our 50inch plasma and watch a film lol its great. My other source of exercise is my fitness coach computer game on the wii console!! i do this 2-3 times a week and 2 on the bike and on thurdays we go to the beach as a family and run like crazy people ;) the kids love it. for breakfast i tend to have a slim shake as i have always done as i hate anything else then at lunch i will have soup or tuna pasta something like that just a normal healthy portion and for tea i would have a chicken wrap, or salmon and veg i dont drink alot of water but alot of diet coke he he! the change for life website has been good also just another tool to moniter myself. anyway im going on now so i will shut up lol! thanks for reading watch this space. | I was 15kg overweight but otherwise a health 36 year old - No heart problems, slightly LOW blood pressure. Reductil gave me terrible side effects including shortness of breath, huge hair loss and now my doctor tells me that my heartbeat is irregular and I need to have a series of cardiology tests. I don't smoke, drink alcohol or coffee and I am vegetarian. This is the only time in my life I have had a health scare. I would not recommend this medicine to anyone and if there is anyone interested in mounting a lawsuit against Abbott Laboratories - let me know. I'm seriously considering it. Gp's and the public need to be more aware |

| breathing problems and shortness of breath is one of the not common symptons and says consult doctor. My doc seems to think its ok but told me to stop taking to see how it goes and then to decide if i can put up with it. It doesnt seem like breathing problems or shortness, its more like when you need to yawn to just catch your breath. I think your right when you say im panicking - when my mind is taken off it, it subsides, but it really is so unpleasant. Im hoping symptons are worse at beginning and then settle as i really want to give them a go. Have had no other problems, sleep fine, slight thirst but nothing major, which is good for me as makes me drink more water as i dont drink enough. I really appreciate everyones comments, just nice to hear other people if they are in same position |

hey
ive been on reductil for 8days and havnt had any symptons like that. You probably do just have a cold and the paniacing is making it worse. If shortness of breathe is not a sympton listed on the phamplet given out then maybe it is due to another problem..
keep me updated!! |

| do you think "catching my breath" is ok then, its happening an awful lot now (i mean every 10 mins) but like i said, that can be due to panicking about it and making it worse. I did begin to wonder whether the sore throat and cold symptons were actually side affects aswell. I didnt take it today and will see how i feel but really dont want to stop as its definately doing its job. I go to the gym regularly - and may go tonight to see if that helps, its been suggested that it can ease it. |

Hi, I just started taking Reductil, its been 2 days, like you I am not expecting to lose great amounts but I have at least 20 kilo's to lose to get to my ideal weight.
I have noticed that I am experiencing dry mouth alot, so I tend to drink plenty of water. I am also doing the cabbage soup diet at the moment so hopefully it will help me lose more.
I don't think you should be worried about about the symptoms and don't be scared, I used to use duramine and believe me they are worse.
Love to hear more from everyone. |

Hi, Iv just started Reductil, im on my 7th day and have lost 2kilos already, im not expecting to lose great amounts at a time as I dont have a major amount to lose as I did the bulk of it using xenical ( 18 kilos) but had to come off them so the doctor decided to try reductil instead.
I am concerned though, since about day 5, I have noticed it hard to catch my breath. Im not sure if I am panicking about this and therefore making it worse as it seems to be coming more frequent. I am suffering with a sore throat and cold symptons at the moment so not sure if this is just a conincidence.
Has anyone else experienced this, the doctor said its not dangerous and its upto me whether I can put up with it but did suggest I come of them for a few days to see if it gets better and then make a decision.
Im finding it very uncomfortable now and quite scary.
Id love to hear any comments |

Hi,
You have just unleashed my biggest fear! i started reductil three days ago, it hasnt kicked in yet (as im still hungry after i eat) and i am so concerned that it will not work for me. Have you asked your doctor why it hasnt helped you loose weight?
My plan after i loose weight on the meds is to then seek a dietition to help me stabalise my weight as my weight fluctuates so much, no matter what i do i cant keep it stable.
I had some lipo done back in december to reshape my legs, before the surgery i was 75 kg, after i was 73 kg, and since then i have got up to 78kg, all the wight has gone to my stomach though! lol i cant win! No matter how much i try to control what i eat and exersize to keep fit and healthy my body will not loose weight.
I hope that the tablet works for me! |

| Hi cmarley! I kept on going to my doctor about my increasing weight gain and we explored every avenue - thyroid tests, going off the Pill, etc. As a last resort, because I was so depressed and upset, he told me to try the Reds because I had no problem with my blood pressure. I will soon go and have this tested again just to be on the safe side. But I've never felt better, except for the insomnia of course. Good luck to you too! |

heyz...well my starting weight is 90kg according to the doctors and 86kg according to mine so i seem to have the same problem...im the same around 155-157cm so i would like to be probably 59 to 60 kilos which means i have a long way to go and alot of work, but the reds are finally starting to not make me as hungry which is great...just afraid the weight loss will come to a stand still after a month or two...i was jumping on the scale everyday then finally decided ill do it once a week as i seem to get better results that way lolll...it kills me because 2yrs ago i was 73 kgs n i thought that was bad so u can imagine what im thinking now with my 80kgs, but im guna stick to it i hope n decided not to call it "a diet" yet call it a change of my lifestyle for good! im not having a problem with sleeping in fact im finding tht the reds are making me more sleepy! but its only my 7th day today so this mite strt to wear off..
well keep me posted everyone, ill be posting as much as i can and keeping u on trak with my loss and would love to hear urs...
have heaps of fun tonight!!!

Well done for your weight loss.. i would kill to be 67kg (around 10.5 stone i believe), i feel like i have been killing myself to get down to that, well up until i started taking reductil and now the hunger is gone and the low cal diet seems achievable now.
I am really surprised that your doctor gave you reductil considering your start out weight, i have had an uphill battle with my doctor to get it. Im currently 93kg (14.5 ish stone) and i am aiming for 80kg before mid june.
Anyway, good luck with getting down to your ideal weight. |
