Hey everyone....
i delt with the headaches for about 4 days... they do tend to wear away...
to be honest with u i completly stopped feeling hungry just today, and today is the second day of my fourth week. the first 2 weeks was all self control, i found drinking lots of water has helped alot..
I still get very tired, the energy has not kicked in.. im guessing this is because im on 10ml i really want to go onto 15ml going to wait until i see the doc on saturday...
one thing to everyone...dont think of this as a diet, just think of this as a start to the new you, if you lose weight on a diet, once you stop the diet you will put the weight back on. Maybe once you've lost the weight you want to lose, eat little meals of whatever you want, and try not to eat a unhealthy meal more than once a day...i think ive lost 4 kilos, maybe more, my scale keeps telling me something different everyday which really upsets me so ive decided to just stay away...
checking in with the doctor on saturday and that would be a whole month for me.... let you know how i go then..
dont give upp!!!!
xoxo berni :) |

| Good morning,I went to the doctor and got a prescription for Reductil yesterday (10mg) - I weigh just under 100 kgs and have been on weight watchers for 6 months and was starting Reductil to assist my weight loss. The doctor made me feel very guilty and said I just needed to watch my diet and exercise - he didn't take my weight or blood pressure or ask me to come back for a review (although he did only give me 2 months supply of the tablets). Can I assume it's safe to start? also is there any issue Reductil and having root canal? |

@terridoherty: Hi.. I had already posted re headaches a long time ago, so I'll repeat because it's a very common occurrence when dieting. I myself never experienced headaches which I could attribute to taking the Reds. However, when you embark on a healthy eating plan, especially drinking lots of water, your body detoxifies, it purifies its system from all the toxins clogging up and slowing down weightloss. During this detoxification, which usually occurs in the beginning of a diet, a very common side effect is headaches, sometimes coupled with cold or flu-like symptoms. Don't run for the antibiotics. This is temporary and typically lasts for a couple of days to a week, depending on the level of toxins in your system. The important thing during this period is to drink lots of water. This will speed up the process and reduce the headaches, which also sometimes occur due to dehydration if you're not in the habit of drinking a lot of water.
Hope this helps! |

My head had been sore on and off for days its a real pain but will continue.
Did anyone else have prolonged headaches, it thought it was only suppose to last 3 days

Hi everyone,
Len_yen your partner broke up with you because of stretch marks?? What an A**hole!! Your better off without him!
Well done on your weight loss though, but 69kg by no means is big, just make sure that you are making yourself happy and not what everyone else wants you to be like.
Well im now on my 6th day, im still feeling a bit tired a night time, but overall pretty good. I think ive lost about 1.5 - 2kg on this which is fantastic, ive been eating dinner early, having a small lunch, breakie which i used to love, well somedays i just have a coffee. I definately dont feel like snacking, and when you see weight loss results it just motivates you even more!
Ill check back in later in the week :) goodluck everyone! |

Heya. In year 2007, I've lost about 18kg from reductil. Then I got into a relationship, but broke up, part of it because of my weight and he thinks that my stretch marks are very ugly. Anyway, i went back to eating what I like, and I grow 8kg fat.
Now, I'm going to take reductil again. 10mg, has been two weeks, and I've lost 3kg. I'm 163cm, and now weight 69kg. I need to lose 9kg more. Even though 60kg is good enough, but asians are petite, they all weight 45-50kg, and I'm like a giant when I stand next to them.
anyway, remember to not simply eat, after you stop reductil. |

Hi all,
Haven't been here in quite a while so I think it's high time for an update. I have just started on my third box of Reds (10mg). So far, since March 10th, I've lost 7kg (about 16lbs). I'm very pleased with my progress because it means I'm losing roughly about 1kg a week, which is safe, and which means I should be able to keep the weight off for longer. On the Reds I've learnt to avoid snacking between meals, especially on cookies which was my main sin before. Also I try to have my dinner not too late in the evening, and I totally don't eat anything after dinner, as I used to with my late night binges in front of TV. Now if I feel like something at night, I sip Bio3 tea, a herbal tea with laxative effects. This is great for me because I find that Reds make me terribly constipated otherwise. However a word of warning - do not rely on laxative herbal teas on a daily basis, as my pharmacist warned me that your body could get used to them and become lazy.
I wasn't sure whether I should continue with the Reds when I came to buying the 3rd box. But since I haven't reached my desired weight yet (6kg left to lose to reach goal weight of 54kg), I thought I'd give it another shot. I am doing so well on these pills and will really miss the energy boosts once I stop them. My pharmacist also warned me when I told her it will probably be my last box - she said that people tend to put all the weight back on once they stop. So she told me to be super careful once they finish and just keep on doing what I'm doing now, that is, eating just three small meals a day (in my case sometimes two, as on the weekends I tend to skip breakfast), and do daily exercise. Otherwise my dears, it all comes back.
That's it from me for now. It's soon swimsuit time so keep on at it folks!! Onwards and downwards!! Hopefully when I post the next time I'll be able to report another loss (as am experiencing a bit of a plateau at the moment...) |

| Hi everyone, today is my 3rd day taking Reductil (15mg) and I haven't lost any weight. I noticed a decrease in my appetite during mornings and noons but come evenings, my cravings start. Does it take a few days/weeks for the satiety effect to fully kick in? Because I used to take d.u.r.o.m.i.n.e and I didn't feel like eating at all, right from the 1st day! |

Hi Sandy
Oh your poor friend!!! The side effects are dreadful I must admit..
I felt like a crazy person on the reds to start with, made me really hyper, but one week on my mood is now quite low. Think it must be because I stopped my anti-d's at the same time. Also I was manically hungry yesterday, although I didn't binge I was well aware that I was hungry. Is that normal after a week that your hunger returns but stops the sugar cravings? I haven't eaten any chocolate etc so that is good, but I have noticed that I do want to eat a dinner when I get home from work this week compared to last week. |

Yes Xenical is pretty bad. My friend was on it and had an 'accident' while we were waiting to board an international flight -because she had checked in her luggage she had no choice but to buy a sarong at the airport as this was all that was open and wear it all the way home.
I have had to go off Reductil because of the side effects -it was great to kick start my weight loss and stop the sugar cravings, but now I find I can eat normally and have continued to lose weight (slowly.) I have lost 16 pounds so far -most of that was last year then Christmas happened and the holidays and I stopped, but am now losing weight steadily again.
I was only on it for about 2-3 weeks. I couldn't sleep at all and my heart was always racing. For someone who already suffers from anxiety it was hell.
Be very careful when you are on it. I would take it again if my weight plateaued and I was exercising and dieting. But I was on the 15mg and it made me like a crazy person!! |

Hi Laura
Xenical is awful stuff!!! Did you notice you lost any weight? I didn't at all, just had the awful side effects!
I am on 15mg of reds, have been on them just under one week and have lost 4lbs. I noticed the first day I had no appetite, but it has come back a bit now, although I must admit I have no cravings what so ever which was my downfall.

| Hi, I have been taking Xenical for past couple of months and it did nothing for me (I have an iron clad stomach I think!). I have been prescribed Reductil today and after reading these comments I'm feeling quite hopeful! What i want to know is, are there going to be any major side effects If I take the reds and continue with Xenical for the next week until my dose runs out? Or should i just stop them immediately? |

Hi Paula, It is well worth getting them, try and get around your doctor by asking if you could even have a trial for only a month. They just give you a great head start in the battle!
I would always have said I didn't over eat, but having been on these for 9 weeks, I now know that the calories in far exceeded the calories used. They just give you the willpower to make healthier choices in what you eat. My pharmacist thinks that a lot of the cravings we have indicate we are lacking in minerals and vitamins. She recommends increasing fruit and veg intake or even a multivitamin.
I do hope that when I finish on the reds that I can keep my new attitude going!
Would you change doctor if you had to ? It would be worth it. I would be scared of buying them on line as you would need to be being monitored by your doctor. |

Hi,
I've been reading this thread and was wandering where I can buy these reds, my doctor just says keep dieting and exercising - he doesn't believe in helping with tablets, he says it takes as long as it takes! Any help would be really great.
Thanks |
