Hi there septemberfield...
That's a wonderful result you've got there in only 8 weeks, but don't be tough on yourself that much and keep it slow but steady.
When I first went on a diet I lost 6 kg in my first week and then I lost weight with a rate of about 1-2 kg per week thereafter. It's not the rate with which you lose weight that matters but how steady you can maintain your loss.

| Hello fellow fat-fighters, I have just had my 4 week weigh in at the docotrs, and wanted to share & scream with happiness :).... I have lost just under 8kgs so far!!!! Woohoooo very excited. This is still on the 10mg,with dietician diet, and seeing the excercise physiologist. I have another 4 weeks on 10mg, then I have a prescription for 15mg to start after that. Nervous as dont think I will keep it up at this loss rate, and as get slimmer I know it will be harder and harder. |

| You should take steps to regulate your period before you take reductil in case of pregnancy.... I would definitely not take reductil whilst pregnant!!! |

Hi all,
Just thought I would check in.
I am almost at the end of 2 weeks since I started taking reductil 10.
I have lost 3.6 kg so far, which is very pleasing.
I havn't had many side effects; other than a few restless nights initially, and my skin is not as clear.
I encourage those who are struggling to find a weight loss on the scales to keep going. It is incredibly important to make sure you are still having min 3 regular meals a day. If you stop eating or skip meals your body goes into 'starvation' mode which makes the fat all the more difficult to loose.
Keep yourself positive; it would be great to keep in email contact with anyone who is interested. My email is karenwalker_131@hotmail.c om |

hey all,
just a quick note to everyone here, eating healthier and smaller is a very good habit to get into, but it wont help (most) of you lose weight, most ppl need to exercise as well.
i was over 116kgs and the weight was fallin off with me doing nothing but eating right, then i got to about 103kgs and it stopped moving, i think the more you get to ur actual weight the more to need to exercise. well thats what i found with me, now it i could help motivate myself more to actually do the exercise too!!
Goodluck everyone!!! |

Hi there
I've also been feeling the same. I'm so tired all the time, have no energy or motivation and rarely sleep the whole night through.
My appetite has practically depleted. I find myself wandering around the supermarket for hours because I don't feel like eating anything (which I'm sure is a good thing). Trouble is, I went to the doctors today to get a new prescription to be told that after nearly three months I haven't lost any weight! I'm so upset about this. I can't understand what's gone wrong. My food intake has gone down considerably. I have porridge for breakfast, rice rissotto or a chicken salad sandwich for lunch but in the evenings I don't tend to eat much at all. Sometimes just a cup of coffee or some milk. On the weekends I can go the whole day without eating and it's only until the evening that I have something.
It's weird, because some of my clothes are starting to feel looser, especially my jeans, particularly around the butt and legs.
I've been reading through a lot of these threads and some of you have done sooo well and I'm really frustrated. I hate being this size. I don't actually know my weight, I got the doctor to keep it a secret as I know it would depress me if I knew. I'm 5ft 6 and I think I'm about 84kg. Would love to get down to 65kg, but I'm at a loss.
Sorry to go on, but I can't believe that I haven't lost any weight when I've hardly been eating anything. |

Hi,
Who told you that you need to get down to 57kg? I'm the same height as you and my doctor told me that my ideal weight is 72kg which from previous experience i know to be correct. Many years ago I went by the BMI thingy and I got down to the recommended weight and ended up looking skeletal. Not a good look! I think 57kg is the bottom of the recommended rangeand that 72kg is at the top of the range and perfect for someone of our height. By the way, I'm starting Reductil tomorrow. I've been using Xenical for past 7 weeks, eating a low fat diet, avoiding alcohol and I haven't lost a thing so wish me luck with Reductil! And good luck to you! |

| I am not sure to be honest, like I said on earlier post I lost 2kg in my first week - but that was also with a change in diet - have you changed your diet or just taking the pills? I think it has to work together with a diet and lots of water for an effect to take place, or maybe you just need the 15mg instead. I have heard a few people say they lost weight just on pills and with doing nothing else - lucky people my body doesnt work like that. |

| you could try Optifast. I lost 25kg on them last year (pre pregnancy). Does take a lot of willpower but they do work. I am now doing optifast combined with reductil and having the same results as optifast without reductil. I just find that by taking the tablet, it helps me stay on track and not get as hungry as I usually would when doing optifast alone. |

Hi Septemberfield & Kris10melb,
I am 1.7 m and 76 kg, my bmi is 32. Do you think if any other doctor will give me the prescription in my case?
I have tried eaten less food (just fruit and veg for dinner) and go to gym 5 days per week, 90 minutes per time. I have done it for 6 month but my weight remains the same. I need to get slimmer before the end of this year. That's why I want to try Reductil!!!!!! |
