Hello Dr Amr Ebied.
I have so far taken 6 reductils but i drank last weekend ( i knew i was going to drink so i didnt take it that morning). This weekend I am planning not to touch any alcohol as i know that its not good for weight loss.
I dont think that i have lost any weight, although i do feel less bloated and a little more better about myself.
I think im not eating the right foods- see i thought that the less you ate the more you would lose. So i would eat 2 bananas a day and other fruits and i recently found out that thats not going to help me.
I dont get it... heaps of people dont eat and lose weight!
What should i eat???? to help me lose weight faster? |

Hi there,
I'm Dr. Amr Ebied, and I'm an author of a blog about many medical advices about alot of things, among which is obesity and My Reductil.
I just wanna confirm to you and to all other people in the forum that inability to sleep is one of the side effects of (My Reductil) because it exerts its weight reducing effect by keeping some body chemicals acting more that they normally do in our brain, and among those chemicals is a hormone called adrenaline.
Adrenaline under normal circumstances is released by the body in response to stress of any kind, and it is responsible for what is known as ( the fight or flight response ), so it's understood that it increases alertness, and that exactly what makes it cause inability to sleep.
The good thing still is that this insomnia problem can be overcome by taking ( My Reductil ) early in the morning after you wake up.
There are alot more to learn about My Reductil on my blog:
www.searchplato.com
Hope to give me your feedback.
Thanks
Amr |

Oohh now to be honest I don't do any exercise its_her_wow. I'm always knackered after a long day at work and just want to collapse on the settee.
If I haven't lost much when I go back to the doctor then I'll ask him for the 15mg. |

Gosh kimberleym2105 that weight loss is incredible. I guess its falling off you because you exercise. My problem is that I have not been able to do any exercise at all. I've cut out lot of food but as my time of the month approaches my weight loss is zero. I know it will start to come off again once the monthly has passed.
My weight loss has stuck at approx 1 stone. I lost that in the second and third week but now I'm in my fifth week without a change. If when I get to the eighth week and I haven't lost anymore then I'm going to ask for the 15mg. |

I just thought I would share my story with everyone..
I live in Adelaide, have been working out in the gym with a trainer for over a year and hadnt shifted a SINGLE kilo or dress size. I was so fed up with working with no results I went to my doc and got Reductil.
I have now been on Reductil for 5 days and I have lost 6kg!!! Its amazing. Im 175cm and now 80kg so Im not classified as obese.
I think Im very lucky to drop the weight so quickly but it definately works.
The trick is thats your brain can actually override the drug if you allow it (i work in pharmacy) so keep it in your mind how determined you are to reach that goal and visualise your dream. Write down everything you eat and youll be surprised the calories you can cut out.
I recommend taking a multi vitamin as well, its hard to get enough nutriance from such a small amount of food.
Im a third of the way to my goal weight and I wont give up until I get there!! |

Hello everyone -ok weighed myself, bit disapointed i only lost 1.5-2lbs so in KG thats not even 1KG :(
I did go camping the weekend and did have quite a bit to drink (by the way i dont think it has any effect if you mix apart from it makes you sleep better)however i hardly ate anything. I have worked it out i am having the equivalent of around 10 ww points at the most which i guess works out to about 800 cals, is this still too much???????? Can i live on 500?? |

Tanyaprice19... good luck.. let us know how you go!!!
and im from Melbourne in Australia... im guessing your from the UK as your using LBS and i use KGS.
I dont follow weight watchers or any of that because im just to busy to do it properly. I might start drinking shakes. I tried that once a while ago and although i was still hungry on it it might work better now seeing as though i take reductil.

Hello everyone.
Today i took my 5th reductil tablet. I cheated on the weekend and didnt take it as i had a 21st and I didnt want to risk drinking on it. I am getting hungry and suffering from hunger pains however I actually have cut done a lot.
I get cravings for things i dont usually eat.
As for side effects Im feeling fine. No headaches, sleeping is fine. However one thing that i am finding so annoying is a dry mouth/throat which as times makes me feel so sick that its like i need to throw up. Its horrible!!! i drink a lot of water and keep my fluids up and it just wont go away.
I havent weighed myself as yet but thats because im trying to give it some more time. |

Hi Everyone
I have been reading everyones posts since January as this when I started on the reductil...my doctor prescribed 1 months worth of reductil (Chemist Warehouse is the cheapest & a bonus is my health insurance gives me a $25.00 back) I then had to go see him for a weight in. The first to months I lost 5kgs which is was rapped in he then prescribed me a further 3 months. In the 2nd month I again lost around 5 kgs...then things started to slow down....lost only a couple of kgs the next month....but I gathered that every kg was a bonus and I couldn't loose anything before....I didn't have too much problems with side effect apart from the first couple of days I had a bad headaches which lasted 2 days....oh and the problem of going to the toilet which settled after a week....I took the reductil in the morning first thing as advised by the chemist as it could cause me problems sleeping....which I really didn't have....my heart did race for the first couple of days but from reading this forum found it was common...i did find that my body got used to them so over this time i stopped for 6 weeks at a time and then restart them.
So its now August and I have lost 17kg (98 - 81kg) which i am very happy with. I have just gone back to my doctor and has given me a further 3 months worth which will take me to christmas.
They do work but don't be in a hurry, remember to took year to put on.
I hope this helps..keep up the good work.... |

Cheers WOW girl, are you from UK?
I understand the pill does not stop you eating altogether however after reading other peoples comments i see most of them have to schedule meal times! Oh what a nice problem. A friend of my said she had been on 20mg a day (blimey) she did lose 42lbs in three months though!
Like you say perhaps because its my first week its a bit harder, i do follow ww anyway I was on 20points a day and honestly i probably had about 12 yesterday so its obviously doing something however I feel like its me doing the deciding rather than the pill itself - do you know what i mean? I dont want to starve myself i want to be able to honestly say no i really dont want that thanks. I am not a huge eater anyway but obviously my body needs far less than i give it, I just need some support thats all :( i started ww in january with a view to lose 3st before my wedding in Feb 2010, since i started i only lost 6lbs by myself and consequently have cancelled my wedding last week, i am gutted but i wont be happy getting married overweight i just know it. Please let these work!!! |

Its true that your stomach is hungry but your brain tells you that you're not! That's why when I'm starving I can get full on a banana! What's sureslim? I'm in the UK and wonder if its like Weight watchers?
I am wearing a pair of size 14 jeans today (its dress down day at work) and they are a pair that I've tried on every six months since I've had them but couldn't do the zip up! I'm sat at my desk at work feeling dead glamourous as I'm not wearing my floor length denim skirt hahaha!!
I'm so determined to do this that when I've lost two more stone I'm going to put my before and after pics on facebook and celebrate success!! |

| hey i think its because you are not eating the right foods. eating less means your body starves and holds weight. i know cause i've done every weight loss thing and the only thing that works is SureSlim.I am doing reductil and sureslim now together as it helps. i am losing weight everyday. i was too when i was just on sureslim but because ive been on that on and off for over a year i have found that reductil has made me more motivated to stick to sureslim again. sureslim teaches you the right foods to eat- it is alot of food but all LOW GI and keeps you going. and drink plenty of water and green tea and black coffee to help with hunger pangs. |

Banjossgirl... i know exaclty how you feel. Its kind of nice to read that other people feel like you do. I live with my neice who is 19 (im 22) and she is so beautiful. Everyone always comments on her great figure and how she should be a model. Im just the fat aunty with the pretty face apparently. Im really easy going, I love to have fun and people think that i dont have a care in the world about how I look because i tend to hide it so well. Little do they know it eats me up every single day of my life.
we can do this!!!!!!! |

Hello tanya. This pill isnt designed to stop you eating all togeather. Now that would be unhealthy! From my experience I have been eaten a lot less but i still get hungry pains and cravings. I have been eating a banana for breakfast then i ate a mandarin and then when it came to dinner i was so hungry that i ate a 6 inch subway roll. Now im doing the opposite. Im going to have a bigger breakfast (which is healthier anyways) then take it easy from there. Im currently eating some weet-bix.
Its like your stomach is hungry but your mind isnt.
You have to teach yourself. I beleive that the first week will be hard. 2nd you will learn to adapt but still will be a little challenging. Once your body gets use to not eating such large amounts of food I think you will be okay. |

Good for you its_her_wow. You've reached the same stage as me about being fat. My sister is a couple of years younger than me and she is stunningly beautiful and slim. She's always been the baby of the family (she's 45 I'm 47) and has looked after herself. But I will say her build is different to mine and she's always been petite whereas once I hit puberty, apart from the bout of anorexia at 18, I've always struggled with my weight. Going out with slim friends was depressing, dress down day at work where everyone slips on some jeans and a t shirt made me want to cry each morning. I'd be there in a floor length denim skirt to feel like I was joining in!
It really is the time now to stay motivated. To realise that we do have the power within us to control what we shove in our gobs. We have made excuses all our lives about - big bones, its the way I was born, fattening food is cheaper... Well now we have the help we've always dreamed of and its up to us to take advantage of it and really make the effort to focus on having the smaller size clothes, the confidence, the luxury of ALL the shops having your size on the hangers.
This forum is great for motivating each other and we should keep using it until we've done what we came here to do.
What a rant eh?! Sorry folks but I feel great after that hahaha. |

Hello everyone.
I started REDUCTIL yesterday as I am sick of being the funny fat girl with the pretty face and hot friends. Enough is enough. Im so sick of hearing "if only you were skinny you would be the complete package".
Reductil wasnt my first choice of weight loss pills. I did want to go on *** however the doctor recommended Reductil so I thought id try it for the first time. With *** I have taken it before and I do beleive it works a whole lot better but the side affects are challenging. I found it hard to sleep at times and my heart always had a funny feeling which made me feel uncomfortable. However my friend has been on i t for 3 weeks now and has lost around 7 kilos. I guess we all just want to lose weight really fast which is why we all get dissapointed when we dont. However I think we all have a few months of our loves to dedicate to losing weight at a healthy pace. All those times we have said "ill start tommorrow" and all those times we never stuck by losing weight are all times we could have put togeather and im telling you now it will be years of our lifes once calucuated that we have wasted by not being patient.
This is my 2nd day on reductil. Im finding Im still getting hungry and finding that I could eat but i just dont. I have been eating a lot of fruit and been sleeping well.
I want to be happy, i dont want to wear jumpers in summer while all my friends are at the beach. I dont want to walk the streets thinking that everyone is looking at me...
i need to do this for myself and i have faith that everyone who wants to lose weight can do it by using all the power they have.
I have seen so many people around me lose so much wieght just never me... if its possible for them then why isnt it possible for us. |

Hi Cheereeos
I sometimes have trouble sleeping but most of the time I'm fine.
I went to the docs yesterday to be weighed and although i hadn't lost as much as I thought I had, he was really pleased with me. He was going to put me on the 15mg if I hadn't lost weight but decided I was doing fine. He said the side effects weren't good with the stronger ones.
I've started to realise that my weight loss won't be as instant as I first anticipated but at least its consistently coming off. |
