| Hi everyone - I started on Reductil on Tuesday this week. I'm 35 and have a two kids, 4.5 & 2. I have been working with a personal trainer for the last three months, three days a week and although I can see my body changing a little, the scales aren't budging :o( It's so disheartening. I've been eating really well too.... So I went to see my Dr on Tuesday and she gave me two trial packs (2 weeks worth) and a script for 10mg. I'm thrilled because I'm having no side effects other than a dry mouth. And it has curbed my appetite tremendously which is awesome! I'm a real picker, but have found that I haven't even been thinking about food, or gravitating towards the pantry lol. My starting weight (as of Tuesday) is 93kg :o( Will update with my weighin on Tuesday! I have also taken on board what some of the other posters are saying, and I am taking fibre caps before bed and taking my Red. tab at about 7.30am so as not to keep me awake at night - all good so far!!!! =) |

Hey k_maree
Good luck with your journey... I too am pretty new here. My starting weight was 107 (thank god I am 5'10") I have around 30kg to lose but am trying to be positive... Taking it one week at a time and hoping the kgs will slowly come off. I tried to not weigh myself but curiosity got the better of me :o) I have been lucky enough not to have the side effects too badly... I do however get a headache and slightly irritable (well I say slightly) in the evening...
Like I said Good Luck on your journey.

UPDATE:
I have been on reductil since the middle of Aug 09 (1 month)
I started on 15mg in the first week, and loss was really fast, but these were too high and sideffects unbearable. I dropped to 10mg one week in. I have also been following weight watchers, which has still be hard but reductil has helped.
I dont really have alot to loose (start weight 12.5 lbs, 5'7 tall) I have so far lost 8.5Lbs. I think this is a great product. like others have said not a solution on its own, but will defo help.
I have also purschased the generic brand "leptos" which now only cost me £15 a month instead of £85!!! they are THE SAME!
Good luck guys |

Helenc78- Two kilos in 2 weeks is fantastic! You have just had a baby not that long ago.. your hormones still may not have come back to normal levels. Give yourself a break :)Try to look after yourself and put yourself first now and then (get some sleep!) Sleep is important for weightloss too! Im losing a kilo every 10 or so days so your losing it faster than me!
I have finally hit ten kilos on Friday! Yay! So ten kilos in eight weeks and im very happy.
I promised myself a treat when I reach ten kilos so I went out today and bought a couple of new items... ALL a size smaller!!! (I desperately needed new pants.. I had that terrible sag in the butt and couldnt get by without a belt.)
I have days where I get really frustrated and down because I want to look good NOW. But I guess this journey to getting my body back is teaching me to NEVER let his happen again!
Keep going and DONT EVER give up.. Im going to get that body.. no matter how long it takes! |

Hiya guys
well I have completed my first 4 weeks and have lost almost 4KG, I am happy but wish it was more, I seem to have put a few .kgs back on, I am a bit silly thou as I can't help weighting myself daily. I am in the gym 3 days a week and I am now up to 40mins on the tread mill which I am so happy about, I keep increasing by a min or 2 each time I go, I also do weights and some floor reps so spending about 1 hr 10 in the gym. I am eating as much as I can, and I feel my appitite has some what increased from when I first started althou I am trying not to over indulge and have had a few treats.
As for Nick, I think he must of thought reductil was a hair growth pill or viagra.....;-p a stupid little man like that is not worth it girls, just shows the sterotyping we have all had to put up with for years. Its best not to let him get to us. He is prob fat, bald, 40's and impotent and thinks a few harsh would hurt. He is a bully by all accounts picking on us because of his own insecurities usually the way it works or he is 12 years old and has nothing better to do. He could also be the usual internet warrior with no job and hunts out boards via googling something and finds his target to take out his own personal lack of a meaning full life....it so obviously gave him a break from watch porn the day he found this board.
carry on girls be strong we are all in this together good luck to one and all xemx |

Why does anyone even consider coming here to critisize when they have no idea about any individuals past or present? I am struggling to lose weight, it has been just over 2 weeks and I have lost only 2 kilos! I have a 20 month old little boy and I work 3 days a week and have been since he was 8 weeks old! Does this make me lazy too? Should I be getting of my butt? Even if I don't get to bed till 12am because I am constantly cleaning up and doing stuff while he is asleep and I have this time?
Unfortunately when you have family genes that aren't the best you struggle all your life to keep your weight under control! I have friends that are stick skinny and stuff their faces and never have problem. I hardly eat compared to them and I am considered obese for my height! I weigh 78 kilos and am 152cm tall. I hate my excess weight and that is why I am doing something about it! That is why all of us are here trying to do something about it! I would say that we are getting off our butts with a helping hand. Controlling what you eat would have to be the hardest thing that any of us have had to do and Reductil does not control that at all, WE DO! People like Nick need to think before they open their mouths and make comments that they have no idea about! Why are you on this site anyhow? |

Hello everyone.
Its been a while that i have replied to anything so I apologise.
I have finished taking all my reductil tablets. I didnt take them everyday and I would skip days.
I found that when I first started it I didnt it all day then I would eat a big dinner which isnt the right way to go.
The hunger pains were horrible where i had to eat.
I have realised that you should have a big breakfast and that lasts you for a while and then you can snack on healthy food throughout the day.
I had a really dry mouth all the time which really did bother me.
Cant say I lost much weight but I did notice a change.
I think reductil is just a support thing for u there but you need to still do the hard work. Its no miracle. If you guys ate healthy without it its quite possible you would lose just as much weight.
Its also a mind thing. If you say and think your hungry u will eat anything and everything.
If you keep yourself busy, time will pass so fast you wont even realise if your hungry or not.
Im going to get another packet from my doctor but this time Im going to try harder.
Since been off reductil for over a good week now I actually have been feeling great. Dont know if its actually to do with reductil or not but im happier and finding im still careful with foods and my hunger pains aint as bad. On reductil i could always sleep but i have notcie my sleep being more better and waking up feeling better.
I still want to take it though maybe every second day because Im training my body that smaller portions will help it.
Im so happy to hear that people are doing well.
Proud of u :) |

Im very interested Nicki, If your so against Reductil and weightloss medication... why did you google it and read this message board?
This message board is here for us to motivate and encourage one another. We cop enough negativity in the outside world and its not welcome here.
I work in Hospital Pharmacy selling this medication to others, I manufacter chemotherapy medications, I counsel patients on medication. I have a fantastic job and work 50 hour weeks. Im not obese, Im not lazy, I dont pig out of junk... Being overweight can come from various health and mental issues.
Ive been on Reductil for 8 weeks and finally today Ive lost my tenth kilo. I do not think it is all because of a pill. Ive had to work hard, excercise and say no to alot of 'yummy' food.
I dont care what anyone says, Its really hard to lose weight and if people are getting help from a pill then so be it. In the end losing the weight is going to benefit them on the outside and the inside. |

| blackboots sorry to hear you've had problems hope Dr was able to set your mind at rest. Good luck all with weight loss, I lost 40lb in around 6 months maybe less with reductil two years ago in combination with weight watchers , unfortunately slipped back into bad habits but back at weight watchers and on reductil this week, dry mouth but nothing else, had to have BP monitored as it's up but last time round no serious effects apart from great weight loss, I agree that you have to do other stuff alongside otherwise when you come off the pills you revert to old habits usually. Wishing you all luck with whatever methods you are trying. And Nick just in case you're wondering yes i do have a job ! a family, dogs that i walk and a busy lifestyle just made some bad food and lifestyle choices along the way as we all have . |

| I had to stop taking redutil 2 days ago. While I did not experience any major side effects to begin with, I had a complete loss of feelings in my legs for 3 consecitive days - each time lasting a couple of hours. I have multiple sclerosis, and have not had a major relapse for years, so this is out of the ordinary. My GP did not mention any issues with MS and taking reductil, but have stopped it to see if it is the cause. Not sure if anyone else taking reductil suffers from MS? |

Hi Guys... Well I am at the end of my first week... I had made an agreement with my partner about not weighing myself, but after seeing a few posts were people are having no side effects and not feeling the drug and not losing weight, (as is what is happening with me) curiosity got the better of me.... BUT I am happy to report that I had a lose of 3.2kg for the first week. I am very stoked!!!! Now too just try and get some more exercise in there (had a very hectic week, spent most of my time in the car)... Keep up the good work guys it is great to read other peoples success messages.
Luv Ali |

Nick
I think you have a single minded approach to over weight people. Do you honestly believe you can tarnish everone withthe same brush? I, for one own two very sucessful companies, not doing hair dressing or nail art but real, manufacturing and machining factories where i employ over 30 people, i also have a three year old child and a husband and a house to keep running, so not everyone sits on there behinds all day doing nothing. Please do no judge what you do not fully understand. It seems to me you may be hold some grudge towards us to have been perscribed or purchased the tables. Cant you get any? |

Well done, you are the first person to have mentioned the word "work' and maybe that is half of everybody's problem...sitting around all day doing nothing! Go out get a job and start doing a bit of exercise rather than sitting on your blots!!There has and never will be a solution to weight control in a pill bottle unless you believe in the fairy Godmother and @ current prices, who can afford Reductil, particularly without a job?

Take it as soon as you wake up in the morning with a glass of water. The later you take it the harder it will be to get to sleep.
I take it as soon as I wake up and then get the hair and make-up done and then eat breakfast. Holding off on eating for a bit gives the tablet a chance to break down before I eat. It really helps me eat a small amount for breakfast.
Remember.. as soon as you stop feeling hungry, stop eating!! Oh and drink as much water through the day as possible, it speeds up the weightloss and makes you feel fuller!! |

Hi everyone,
I am starting on the Reductil 15g tomorrow! I am nervous but excited at what it could mean!
Just wondering, is there a certain time that is better to take the pill? Is it better in the morning, at lunch time or at night?
Thanks!! :-) |

Thanks Kimberelym2105.. Im going to make the right choices.. and the scales WILL be nicer to me Monday 14th (despite going away this weekend)... |

I am on day 18 and have still only lost 1.5 kg, despite eating smaller portions and choosing better qualities of foods - grrrr!
Yesterday was the first time I did feel peckish, and as a result I made some bad food choices. Am a bit worried that the pills are already starting to lose their effect... |

I feel the same way. I dont feel its working on my appetite at all. Your mind can override these capsules so it gets harder when you have to start to really think about how much your eating and what it is your eating. The best thing is these caps keep the metabolism going so you may be surprised when you get on the scales. I just keep trying to think before I eat.. "am I actually really hungry or is there someting else wrong e.g. im bored or upset". I try to eat as healthy as possible too but I crave fatty food still. I just make sure instead of eating a whole chocolate bar Ill have just a bite to satisfy the craving.
It definately gets harder when your brain overrides it. Just stay string and keep focused. I keep a food diary so I can actually see how much Im eating and that helps.
Dont give in.. because once you do that, its so hard to start losing again. |
