Dont be afraid of taking the Reductil. I never take any form of medication at all and I honestly feel great on this!
Remember to take as soon as you wake up, with a glass of water (reduces your hunger for breakfast). Ive discovered the more water you drink the faster the weight falls off.. possible a combination of losing fluid and feeling fuller so less food intake.
Its been six weeks now and Ive lost 10kg. Have found it pretty easy. I run and use the WiiFit 4 times a week. Eat very healthy too. I have discovered once you stop eating sweets and McDonalds (my weakness) you stop craving them. If I have a taste of chocolate Ill crave more for days where if I dont eat it.. I dont miss it.
The weight is falling off really slow now, which can be disheartening at times, but Im not after a quick fix... I want too feel and look fit forever so i cant expect results in a short amount of time.
Anyway I have found alot of tips and tricks along the way and I work in Pharmacy so Im happy to share.
Keep up the posts, they keep me focused and inspired! |

Hi wallea00
Thanks for your reponse, isnt obese a horrible word.. im sure we all look fab to our other half but when i look in the mirror....... well lets say its not a pretty sight.
I went to the doctor with an unrelated problem ( had a bad burn in work) and mentioned my weight because I need my throid checked again, so it was an after though that I asked him for it, I did say to him however ( after he suggested that I contine on my throid meds for a bit long) that sure just give me the scrip and I will decided whether to take it myself, so I sort of left it up in the air, but I have decided after reading some of the good stories here that Im going to give it a try.
Im glad I can to this site becuase I would not be aware of side effects that others are having so its good to no before hand. I will keep an eye on my blood pressure while on them, as it can be a bit high at time but thats normal for me and hope for the best, I have to go back to see my doctor anyway in Dec so that gives me two months solo on them.
Let me know how you get on for your first week.. |

| Hi everyone, Just responding to the post by adamkelly72003. I too requested reductil on my own accord (I am considered obese at 86kg), how ever my doctor told me that he wants to see me back in 1 month to check my blood pressure and weight. He told me that your blood pressure can increase on Reductil. Maybe this is something you should be aware of. I started 4 days ago and I have found that it has certainly suppressed my eating. I will weigh myself on Saturday, fingers crossed that the scales are on my side. The only side effect I have had in extreme thirst. However i haven't considered this bad as it is forcing me to drink water.Goodluck! |

Hi everyone, it wont be untill next wed when I start as i dont get paid till then and god they are expensive arent they, One thing that I have noticed about a lot of posts here is that your doctor is monitoring you all, my doc did not even weight me as he did not offer them to me but i requested them he gave me 10mg so going to start off on that, so its up to me to monitor myself so feel a bit alone, so going to use this forum for keep going hope you all dont mind.. Think my big fear starting them is that I will put all my hopes and dreams for losing my weight ( and I have a good 20kgs to lose ( that is a lot)and it doesnt work.. so the plan is to take a full month one a day and the second month one every second day ( so it wont be so hard to keep the weight off) has anyone else tried this?
Has anyone been on the for two months and lost a lot of weight?

Hi,
I to began reductil this week. I have 16kg to lose. I am determined not to way myself, and wait until I go back to the doctor in a month. I have noticed that I have lost cravings for sweet foods, which is great. I am addicted to diet coke, pepsi etc and have tried to reduce my intake in the past without any success. I have completely cut it out of my diet in three days without even realizing. So these tablets must be doing something. Lets just hope I lose the weight though. |

Congrats Madeleineallen83 on your weightloss so far! 2.8kg in two weeks is fantastic!
Today was my first weigh in after being on Red. for a week. I lost 2.2kg so I'm stoked with that. And I have my visit from AF and usually I get heavier around that time of the month, so a loss is awesome.
adamkelly72003 - In relation to carbs, I have found that if you just can't give them up completely, have carbs for breakfast ONLY (toast, porridge, ceral, etc) - you at least give your body the chance to burn it off over the course of the day. HTH!! |

Good Job Madeleineallen83
It all takes time... and you are right the longer it takes to come off the longer it will stay off... I am not weighing myself now until I go back to gp next wednesday... which is a lil scary cos it will be 2 weeks without weighing!!!!
Keep up the good work. |

Hi all
this is my first time on the forum. Need a bit of encouragement, My doc gave me a script for Red, today. I have a weight problem that just wont go away. I am 92kilo and I am 5 foot 1. I also have an underactive throid which makes my weight issue twice as bad, he had also doubled my throid tables to see if that will work, when he gave me the script he said that it was up to me to take it because the throid tables may start to work, but im fed uo waiting two years for them to work, my fear is if I go on the red. will i put weight on when the course is finsihed.. any insight |

Hey Everyone, It is so good too see a few people on at the moment....
I have been on Reductil for nearly 3 weeks and I have found I am soooo tired by the end of the day too... However when I do sleep it is really twilightish and I have the most bizarre dreams (reminds me of when I was pregnant)...
I have my days of hunger pangs and others I have too force myself to eat, I use calorieking.com.au to make sure I am not doing anything stupid and staying within the range of calories I am recommended to have per day... Keep up the good work and the messages guys it is a great support to read other ppls comments about their journeys and to know I am not the only one that is going through this...

Hey everyone...
I am on week 2 and its going alright. I lost 1.5kg in the first week and my weigh in day for the second week is tomorrow so fingers crossed!
I found that the reductil worked really well the first week and I wasnt even thinking about food... the only side effect I had was a dry mouth which actually made me drink more water which worked great!
But by the second week, its like the tablets have worn off. They dont seem to be having any effect on my what so ever and I am finding myself getting hungry straight away!
Hopefully I can just persevere by myself! |

jayjay_z I personally would not give up on your weight loss. Just remember that you are building muscle and toning up while training! I would not be weighing myself if I were you! You are getting false results because muscle weighs more than fat. You are much better off going by measurements and your clothes. With time you will also see results on the scales just be patient.
At the moment I am struggling to do any exersize at all as my time is taken up with my 20 month old, working 3 days a week and trying to keep my house clean and tidy! I also have dinner nights at my in laws every Monday night and Tuesday nights at my parents. Any suggestions how to do any form of exersize with almost no time left????? |

Kimberleym2105 thanks! I do however doubt myself from time to time! The hardest times would have to be parties or when dessert is around! I just cant say no! :( I have a sweet tooth and find that a real struggle..
Generally I am very good though! :)
Weight drop since 8 days ago is only .5 kg :( |

Hi guys! I love reading all of the stories from people just starting.. I smile to myself because you wont believe how fast and how different you start to feel. You have some exciting times ahead!! Its efinately possible to lose weight within the first few days, but remember its water weight.. not fat. So in the first ten days you will drop dramatically and then it should slow down to 0.5kg-1kg a week. Dont be disheartened when it slows down.. this means that fat is starting to move.
I reached my first goal of losing 10kg last week! I started at 86.5kg and I am now 76kg! Im 173cm (5ft 7 i think) so I carry my weight ok. Another 10kg to go and Im done! So halfway there.
Its getting even slower so Im having to work really hard to keep it going, and this makes me doubt myself at times, but then I try my old jeans on and realise how far Ive come.
Keep it going guys, the reward isnt just in the waistline.. Im becoming more confident and content with myself too! |

Hi All
I just started Reductil on Wednesday and I have 18kg to loss, am 5ft 6 and i'm giving myself till xmas, so here it goes. You name it I have bought and tried it but nothing works my big problem is fresh white bread from the bakery that my mum always has at hers and mcdonalds that my kids like to go to 1 evening every week. The hardest time for me is at 11 pm at night where I comfort eat and can't stop, wake up the next morning and disgusted with myself when I see all the wrappers from the night before.
So I have thank god had no side effects (which makes me wonder are they working on me on 10mgs) and haven't weighed myself going to wait till wednesday I will have a week over me.
Just like to say your stories are inspirational to anyone out there trying to loss weight and a great read. Well done to you all. |

| Hi everyone - I started on Reductil on Tuesday this week. I'm 35 and have a two kids, 4.5 & 2. I have been working with a personal trainer for the last three months, three days a week and although I can see my body changing a little, the scales aren't budging :o( It's so disheartening. I've been eating really well too.... So I went to see my Dr on Tuesday and she gave me two trial packs (2 weeks worth) and a script for 10mg. I'm thrilled because I'm having no side effects other than a dry mouth. And it has curbed my appetite tremendously which is awesome! I'm a real picker, but have found that I haven't even been thinking about food, or gravitating towards the pantry lol. My starting weight (as of Tuesday) is 93kg :o( Will update with my weighin on Tuesday! I have also taken on board what some of the other posters are saying, and I am taking fibre caps before bed and taking my Red. tab at about 7.30am so as not to keep me awake at night - all good so far!!!! =) |
