Hi webjoanne
Thanks for the encouragement and I will send positive vibes for you too. I have lost another 1.2kg and feel amazed because I don't feel like I am trying too hard! Reductil seems to take away my thoughts of food. I have been through so many diets with planning menus and thinking about food that I find this a pleasant surprise NOT to be obsessed with food. So I simply eat the same as I cook for hubby (plus some extra veggies usually for me) and just eat less. I am also not craving any 'in betweens' such as morning and afternoon tea.
I really hope Reductil works as well for you as it seems to be for me. And although it is expensive, it is less than other programs and diet shakes etc. plus I save heaps on lollies, chocolate and snacks!
So good luck and keep up the posts - this is a great forum just to get in touch with people in the same situation.

Hi all ,tigerblues I work in disability services residential support .Sleepovers ect ect 19 years now. I find it extreamly hard to watch what Im eating with the odd hours, Im starting my day when most people are finishing, anyway I just have to work at it harder .Im doing okay I find some days the side effects from the reductil seem a little worse than other days ??????not sure whats going on, maybe depends on how tired I am .Anyway Im still the same weight as I was a week ago .I think the less you have to go the harder it is .But I have many pictures sitting around the kitchen area reminding me of when I had 35 kg +++ to loose. So I do understand, and feel for those I am reading about who do have alot to go .All I can advise is, it is harder as you get older so get some good habits going in the kitchen now, read and re read your food labels when shopping DONT buy the fatty food or lollies, if you have to just buy enough for the person who is going to eat it, (skinny husband) NO leftovers to worry about .Cheers for now catch you all in a couple of days.

Hi everyone. It has been a bit of a while since my last post. I too seemed to hit a plateau and didn't seem to lose any for a week. Probably because i couldn't exercise as i was too tired! I am back on track now. Lulu, i found that if i stopped taking the tablets for a few days or a week and went back on them, it started the process again. Of couse, you need to really watch what you are eating in that time or you will go backwards. No doubt, that would not work for everyone but it worked for me. There are probably those who would say not to stop and start but it works for me.
Best of luck everyone. Kym

Hi Maggie

Breakfast is the only meal I have high carbs in, as it fuels me for the rest of the day :) - I usually have rolled oats with Rev high fibre milk (not sure if available out of VIC) with a tiny sprinkle of brown sugar or honey. I also have a tub of ww fruit salad or a piece of fresh fruit.

I make up a huge pot of rolled oats and it makes enough for 3 breakkies. I dish out one serve and put the other two in plastic containers in the fridge, so all I have to do in the mornings is put make up oats in microwave for 1-2mins, add milk and honey or sugar :)

Morning Snack is either Ladybird low carb protein shake or a low gi piece of fruit.

Lunch is large homemade salad/soup or steamed veggies (must microwave soup or steamed veggies at work) with some protein... chicken, ham, beef, egg, cheese or fish....etc - or sometimes rice cakes or vita wheat’s if feel like a 'sandwich'.

Afternoon snack is usually something naughty like a low carb/low fat/ low sugar chocolate (like the well, naturally range) or just a hot Milo or low carb hot chocolate

Dinner is fish, seafood, chicken, beef with veggies or done in a stir fry or roast.... or a 1 whole egg and 2 egg white omelette with lots of veggies and cheese inside :)

I am always between 80-100gs of carbs per day - fat is always under 30gs per day.

I drink 3lts of water, don't drink juice anymore, the only 'soft drink' I have is diet ginger ale or 'diet' lemonade.

I do drink 2 glasses of 'diet' Lipton Ice tea peach flavor.

I track all my food on www.calorieking.com.au - Its easy to track my fat, carbs and sodium levels… I always make sure my sodium is under 2000mg per day.

In reply to lulu - hun your weight has stabilised because once your fluid has gone, which was the weight you have just lost, the rest is fat and that takes alot to lose. Please don't stop eating, just cut your portion sizes. If you stop eating you will get sick.

You could be like me - stabilise for a week or two and then you'll see a large weight loss etc etc....

Just keep Positive!! =))

Re:Reductil( does it work)?? ne1 know?? Reply to this message
Hi everyone! I started reductil 2 weeks ago and very pleased with results. I had previously lost 8kg using the Tony Ferguson shakes however, I found that they were very restricting after a while. Reductil is working well for me and I have lost another 3kg since starting. I have no side effects apart from the dry mouth but I guess that makes me drink more water which usually I am not very good at!!
I feel that reductil reduces my interest in food - which is amazing for me! I am eating smaller meals and feeling satisfied - mostly keeping to a low fat diet with lots of veg and fruit. Not craving chocolate (also amazing) and feeling really well. I have been on many, many diets in my time (all the usual fads and then some!) and find this is the most effective tablet I have taken. I have another 18-25kg to lose - would be very happy with the 18 and ecstatic with 25!
Great to read your stories, keep up the good work!

Re:Reductil( does it work)?? ne1 know?? Reply to this message
I've lost 5 kilos in 3 weeks, but i have stabalised. I havent changed my diet, or my excercise, yet my weight has remained the same for the past 4 days. Not sure why, it's a little depressing, especially since i was doing so well and the weight was just falling off. My food intake has reduced considerably since taking reductil. I now only eat a small lunch, like a sandwhich, and then have veggies for dinner. Sometimes i dont have dinner becuase i am not hungry. Not sure if i should change my food intake? maybe this would kick start the weight loss again?

Re:Reductil( does it work)?? ne1 know?? Reply to this message
Hi,

I have been on Reductil 10mg since November, I have lost 20kg so far. (I was 129kg, now on 108kg)

I workout twice a day if possible - I work full time, so sometimes too tired.

I swim for 45-60mins in the morning and walk/jog for 20-40mins in the afternoon.

I am not really doing a 'diet' but following the guidelines on www.calorieking.com.au (it's now a free site) but I have lowerd my fat to under 30gs and carbs under 100gsm per day.

I always purchase mine scrip from www.pharmacyonline.com.au as it's nearly $50 cheaper than the chemist in my area.

I have tried diffrent things in the past and always put the weight back on, but this is diffrent...

I don't think it is a supressent, as it feels diffrent to other things I have tried, I am just less interested in food... make sense?

Your supposed to be obese according to the info I have but Im not.I was 10 kg overweight but would be happy to only loose 6kg .My doctor would only give me 2months supply and no more, I have 3weeks left then Im on my own I hope my healthy habits will stick then ,winter will be the test. My best kick start is my cloths I have a variety of sizes from size 14 to 18 if my 14s are snug or not fitting then its time to move it .bye for now good luck

How much overweight do you need to be to have a doctor prescribe reductil. Have been carrying around an excess 10+kg since the birth of my daughter and looking at my 'old' clothes I can no longer fit into is driving me nuts.

Hello all, well im going great 4kg gone my clothes feel loose I feel more confident side effects are still mimimal dry mouth. I think I have got used to them a bit but I am very happy with my progress .lioness0103 in answer to your question, before I started on reductil I was very cautious it took me ages to have the script filled I went to the pharmacy and got them to print me out as much info before I filled out the script, educated myself as best as I could . best advice is talk to your pharmacist or GP they have all the latest info also my dietitian helps as well .For the weight to come off you have to eat 3 meals a day and do some exercise I dont do alot Im a bit lazy I work shift work and often Im just to bushed to walk as much as you need to but however its still coming off just not as quick .Hope that helps keep us posted .How is everyone else going ? Cheers Be back in a couple of days

Hello ladies I'm thinking of trying Reductil ,I have never used any type of weight loss pill and am a bit reluctant. I've got a question hopefully someone can answer. Does reductil speed up your metabolisim or is it just an appetite suppresent? I'm asking cause I dont really have a problem with over eating I just dont eat regularly enough -always skipping breakfast ,little lunch and large dinner. As you can see I really need something to help speed up my metabolisim. Cheers.

Hi again. All is well, i seem to be back on track. I have only 3 weeks supply left so want to make the most of it. I lost the 1.5kg i put on so i am pleased about that. I wonder how hard it will be to not put the weight back on when i am at my target weight? Before i had kids i never worried about my weight but it never seemed to be something that varied much. Now though, it's a different matter. Must be age. so, i am hoping that the good habits i am establishing now will help me.

Hi everyone. So lovely to read how you are all doing. It does feel a bit of a loney road so i really like having somewhere to go and read a bit of encouragement. I couldn't believe it!! I put on 1.5kg in a week???? How is this possible? I have not walked as much due to the weather and feeling tired, but i am shocked at how this changed the result so drastically. Has anyone heard of the effect wearing off? I don't know if i feel like it is working much at the moment, or maybe i am just ignoring it?? I did try taking one of the 15mg tablets that I still have 28 of! but again, i did not even go to sleep that night so i have to rely on the 10mg as it doesn't affect my sleep at all. I didn't take one at all yesterday as i just wanted a totally good sleep after the awful night before. I must make a huge effort this week as i just don't want to go backwards!! Great that you are all getting super results, keep it up. Talk to you all soon.
Kym
