| Wow, thanks for your replies. It is really motivating to hear about other people's success stories. I have been finding that I have been getting a little "headachey", but if I drink a bit more water, that seems to go. Plus my normal sleep routine is rather light, and I normally seem to wake every few hours. But for the past 6 days since starting on reductil, I have been sleeping like a log for around 6-7 hours straight, which is probably the most straight through sleep I have had in eighteen years (pre children!). I am loving it....it all seems too easy at the moment. I keep waiting for something bad to happen...but so far so good! Now I just need to start some exercise....am ok once I get into a routine. But it is just the thinking about it....one small step at a time! |

Hey Chrissy,
I found it brilliant and I'm just about to go get more.
Of course I exersized and drank alot of water and managed my intake of food but i lost quite a bit of weight on it.
Ive put more on over winter and im just about to try it again to get ready for summer, I was also replacing dinner with a Tony Furgason shake. It works Fabulously. If you have Tony Furgason for lunch as well that helps with energy
or have lunch and eat a boiled egg in the afternoon for protein. |

| Hi all After reading all of the pages on this topic, I must admit, I was a little worried about starting on Reductil. Decided to bite the bullet and do it anyway. Today is my 5th day on Reductil, and so far so good. Day 1, I noticed that my hunger was greatly reduced. Day 2, I could have eaten a horse I was so hungry! Things settled back down again on Day 3. Day 4 I got on the scales and I was down 2 kg. (I have to stop getting on the scales so regularly I know!) I have 40 to lose, and I am hoping that this will be the way to do it for me. I have struggled with my weight for the past 15 years. Had breast cancer 6 years ago at age 37, and found that between the chemo and the tamoxifen, I just piled on the weight. Have been trying to get rid of it ever since! Just a note, don't bag the girls who come on here and say they weigh 65 kilos and want to lose weight. I know that with myself, I am 4ft 10in and I should be around 45 kilos, so if I was 65 kilos that would put me in the overweight category and I would have 20 kilos to lose. As it is I am in the morbidly obese category and am hoping that I won't be there for much longer. I am really looking forward to hearing all your stories and sharing the journey with you all as we aim to get healthy and happy. Cheers Chris |

Hi Rue,
Well today is day 2 for me. I have not had any bad side effects that most people have had yesterday and I was a bit apprehensive about taking them but today I plan on walking. You are absolutely right, it is very hot here and I work on the Post so food is always available. I have to work on my will power now because sometimes I notice that I eat just to eat, not when I am hungry and I was not hungry yesterday but you know old habits die hard. I am please about your weight loss and keep up the good work. I haven't noticed any yet but it has been two days. I am going to walk for about 30 minutes today nad tyr to keep that up and walk even 45 minutes within the next month are so because I am doing NO exercise at all. Well, I wish you continued success and hope to share some of my good news with you when I get some. 5.5 kilos is about 12 lbs. That is great. I hope I can do the same.
talk soon. |

Hi there prettypiercedone
How's Kuwait, I'm not too far from you. I'm an Aussie but in Saudi Arabia. I've been on reductil for 7 weeks now and lots approx 5 1/2kgs. Struggling this last week but thats because its very hot and the humidity has just kicked in. Takes a while to get used to it each summer and the humidity just sucks the life out of you and makes any exercise the last thing you want to do!!
I've not had any problems with any side effects. I think if you are sensible and remember that you still have to eat then you'll be fine. Keep up the water intake too, expecially over there in Kuwait.
Good luck

| I am an American living in Kuwait and I purchased my first script of Reductil. I have read all of the reviews and I am a bit nervous about the side effects; however, I will try my first pill tomorrow and let you all know. You guys seem to be very supportive of each other and that helps especially when you are overweight. I am 5'11 and 250 lbs. I want to lose 50 pounds and I think that is doable and I will be where I want to be. I do not want to be skinny like I was in high school when I was 150 and 5'11, but 200 lbs is still healthy. I look forward to sharing my experience with you. |

| Hi peaseweb, I went to dr today to get a script. Last Sat he gave me a wk trial pack to try. I bought a mth supply of 10ml but i'm am really worried that I should have asked for 15ml. I am not as energetic as I was the first few days. What is happening. I am still trying really hard. Weighed myself at dr and I have lost 2kg. I hope the 10ml holds me over for the next 4 wks. I don't want to have wasted 130 bucks. |

| Hi frenchieaussie! it takes a little while for the Reductil to really kick in as it works on the central nervous system altering the signals from your tummy to your brain so don't worry yet! I started on the 10 for 4 weeks and then my doctor moved me up to the fifteen after she checked my blood pressure and whether I had any side effects. As to diet I've simply cut out all junk food and if I have a really HUGE chocolate craving I eat a Freddo really slowly so the craving is filled and I usually don't need to eat the whole thing. Exercise is really where I've changed my habits - I started with a 45min walk every day and tried to extend the distance I went in each 45min. Now I can jog for the 45min. It hurt, but I think it has really helped. |

| Wow 14kg in 6 weeks that's amazing. Today is day 5 for me and I was feeling as hungry as I was on Day 1. Are you on 10 or 15 and what sought of diet are you on. Pyretta, you must be really determined to have been having optifast for 12 mths. You are really committed. I seen a sign yesterday that said QUITTERS NEVER WIN AND WINNERS NEVER QUIT. Good luck gals. Hang in there. |

| hello everyone! WOW it's great that this forum exists! Well, I have been on Reductil for 6 weeks now and have lost 14kg! It's so exciting and I can't believe it's coming off so fast! The only side effect I get is some tummy growls every now and then and whilst Reductil hasn't taken away my appetite altogether it has helped me to reduce my portion sizes and be more aware of what I eat. Now I only have 26 kilograms to go to reach my target weight instead of the 40 I had before - that's motivating in itself! Best wishes to everyone out there and keep up the good work! |

frenchaussie,
I've been on this regime only for the past 3 weeks. Before this I was on 10mg reductil and 2 Optifast for 4 weeks.
Been on Optifast for over 12 months and couldn't keep 3 shakes any longer so we are trying this regime.

| Exactly and by sharing that information people will now know that there are specific and extenuating circumstances that have led you to be on both 15mgs and Optifast and it will stop someone that has only 20kgs to lose trying the same method. That's why these blogs are so great as they support all types of journeys. Keep up the great work, it's an amazing amount of weightloss to have achieved. |

stephs,
It's the doc that put me on this regime.
Slow and steady wins the race, but I'm just trying to survive. I started at 196kg and now at 142kg.
The Reductil is to help with motivation and energy for me as much as hunger reduction.

Hi all, I don't want to preach (because I'm hardly able to talk!!) but please don't start replacing meals with shakes as well as taking reductil. The concept of these pills is to reduce your hunger so that you can teach yourself new eating habits and portion sizes. If you don't learn to change your habits now then nothing will have changed when you go off the medication and you'll end up putting the weight back on and the yo-yo dieting trap strikes again.
Slow and steady wins the weightloss race. |

Hi all
I now been on for 8 weeks and have put on this time. Struggling with the eating and stopping- easy at first now just really hard. Broke my foot on trampoline so no exercise for 1 month. Have lost 6kg but not enough- feel really down and voices inside also telling me- give up - you are useless and won't win.
I was glad to read others have rubbish times too as don't feel such a freak.
Anyone got the answer please?
