| I could not agree more. I don't see Reiki as being even remotely genuine. Yes you feel a bit better but that is because you relaxed and meditated. Gee you could have done that at home and it would ahve cost you nothing. If Reiki really could heal why are any of us in pain or sick? | I recently read that Reiki energy is regarded as life energy at its most effective, has a divine quality and provides a feeling of detachment from the world so that problems dont affect the user. Deep relaxation is the main factor in Reiki therapy and this is very much dependent upon the divine quality attributed to the energy. Relaxation is possible with the removal of blockages in energy flow and dispersal of toxins. This therapy can be used advantageously with other therapies like Gem therapy, Aromatherapy, Homeopathy, Yoga etc. I made an appointment for a Monday morning and upon arrival a young lady told me to remove my watch, wash my hands, relax on the treatment table and meditate in preparation. When the treatment started I didnt feel a thing so when she finished I asked her why. She said the burn scars on my lower back meant she could only hold her hands a few inches above the skin at this area for the most effective universal life energy as touching the physical blemishes of the skin meant it would lose its effect. In explanation I said the 3rd degree burn scars were from a gas explosion that I experienced during childhood She said she had strongly concentrated her thoughts on healing and passed her hands over certain points where she felt needed the most concentration and that the healing process had now began. I said well ok but how much for the treatment and would I need more sessions. She told me it probably would take about 6-8 treatments because of the scar blemishes, each treatment would cost $40 and to come back in three days for the next one. I wholeheartedly thanked her as I felt much more relaxed after the session and reached around to my back pocket, took out my wallet and laid it on the counter while I concentrated my thoughts on paying her, then passed two twenties over her healing hands and placed them back in my wallet saying, bye love, see you on Thursday. |
