| I haven't had a physical in about 14 years! I don't want to get one 'cuz I don't want to find out what's wrong with me. I don't like being touch and I don't want to be mis-diagnosed. A bit scared... =) Also, just in case anybody was wondering, physical exams usually cost around $125 - 200 dollars for a regular one. Up to $2000 for the top notch, pretty much unneeded ones... |

| Personally I find physicals to be intrusive. Although I am aware of the benefits simply thinking about one irritates me. | Hello, I suppose by the tme you get this it will be all over but in case it was post poned, I have had check ups since I was 14 and they become routine very quickly. YOu need your body to be in good working order just like a car - you would go to a mechanic - so we go to doctors. The important thing to remember is that the doctor knows what he is doing and needs to see your entire body. There may be outside office tests - all so he can confirm his opinion. THE advice about being clean is only polite and construictive. IT wall also put you at ease - you don't have to worry about anything. You can expect to see both nurse and doctor or perhaps a nurse practioner - all professional. They do not see your body as you and your friends do - they see it objectively. MOst doctors will ask youto completely undress and offer you a gown to wear. THe fact is taht it has to be raised and lowered or come off eventually so I personally don't bother with it. The doctor comes in says hello whatever, askes me to get ready for the exam and then leaves to give me a few minutes. I usually undress completely ready for his return. HE should examine every part of you and if he doesn't get another doctor! Feel free to ask questions - it is your body and you need to know what is going on. It may seem strange to be naked but it isn't - that is why you are there - you wouldn't put a blanket over your car if you went to the mechanic! I hope it went / goes well. THe whole thing should n't be more than 30 minutes and then you canstart to give advice! |

| dear 19 year old male.i am a 41 year old male who has no problem with getting a phyical exam.you do not have to be worryed about anything. docters and nurses are all profetional and they will trweat you with the most resect .they will give you all the privacy that you need,.if you are nevios ,you could ask eaighter a close friend,or your dad,or even your girl friend.if you do not haveany of these you can ask that a nurse be pressant with the docter is giving you the exam.if you are very close to your mother.you might try asking her if she would not mind being in the room .please do not be worreed about what you look like with nothing on. i had my step sister at my last phyical exam and when the male docter was looking and exaining my privets ,she just looked away becase as she said that it was not rely nessesary or approperate that she see me with no cloths on. good luck | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Not to worry, you shouldn't be asked to strip your boxers off. The doc will only check out the old fellar if you tell him you have a problem down there, if so to have low hangers will only show you have healthy dongers cause they need to hang low to work properly anyways, especially if your body gets too hot. You will only get an erection if he needs to check you out down there or if you think he's/she's cute and you are inclined that way, hehe. Physical is normally to check all your other body functions not to check your privates cheers |

| yes it is important thatyou wash real good and to wear clean cloths.i have heard that you should try to wear cloth that are very easy to put on and to take off in a short amount of time.i usual take all my cloths off as soon as i get to the exam room.that way i do not have to worry about the docter asking me to only remove some of my cloths.i do not think that it matters to the nurse or to the docter if i choose to remove all my clothes.beside i rely see no point in putting on one of those paper gowns any way. they do not even try to keep you warm. got to go for now. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| hello,i would like to say a few words about getting a phyical.i had one about a year ago.i am a 40 year old male who is in pretty good shape.everything at the docters office went just fine.the docter did a real nice job .the nurse who helped to reassure me that i was doing just fine and to not worry about anything that the docter did to me. she was very polite to me and she rely seeme to rely care about me and carefull to see that i did not get cold while i was being examened by the docter.i welcome any coment on this from anyone. You do the blood tests, heart beat, pulse, respiration rate, etc. They also take your weight, height, check if you have a hernia. Just remember to take a shower and wear clean clothes before you go. |
