Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
Wow!!! Your story reads almost EXACTLY like mine!! I am a 39 yr old woman with crohns, and not dealing with the emotional part either. I don't like to leave my house, but am working again. I smoke a lot of pot too and have given up on caring about recovery. I was diganosed 3 years ago and my health has been on a downward spiral ever since! I spent 3 months in the hospital, earlier this year, had two MAJOR surgeries and still my health is failing. I really dont want to live much longer, feeling like this. Luckily, I live in California, close to my family, however, they haven't really done much for me outside hospitalization. I am alone and ugly, my hair has fallen out, i have lost weight, tried different meds, nothing has worked, said @#$%it, and stopped taking all of them! I wish I would get hit by a bus tomorrow and end it all, yet I know I have lots to live for, if I could just get out of this funk! It sounds like you are from Florida but not close to their now. Where are you? I often say, I need someone to talk to who knows what I am going through. My friends, the couple who even know, aren't any help because they really can't relate. I have even looked into a support group but it is just far enough away that I know I wont go.
I know what you are going through and I think we should talk.

Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
I am 47 and have just been told I have chrones. I also lost alot of weight all at once and my apearance has changed so much lately. I believe we can heal ourselves with a positive mental attitude and paying attention to what our bodies are telling us. Staying indoors will only cause depression. Get out into the light of day and you should begin to feel good again. There is hope in the light of day.

Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
Its becoming more common because there is less good in our food our nutrition levels are being depleted more and more and pollution levels etc don't help.
However there is hope I work with products which help repair diseased cells we of course due to the drug companies are not allowed to claim? they fix anything but what we can do is put you in touch with folk who can tell you personally. Attention Crohns interst will catch my eye so I don't send you to the spam box.

Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
Don't despair you poor thing often it is hard to diagnose and there are other things which can give similar sypmtons. The Doctor won't agree with what I am about to say but then they only do about 2wks nutrition in their training. I believe Crohn's is a degenerative disease which means with the correct levels of nutrition over time can be repaired (not over night) however the fact that you are so wonderfully young the diseased cells have a quicker response to being changed back. I am in Victoria talk to me on line for a while if you wish and if in another state I will get you the help you need. Coden chick

Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
A number of years ago I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. I had been bleeding every day and experiencing pain. Doctors could not do anything but mask the symptoms and as soon as I stopped the drugs it all came back. A friend of mine with IBS gave me a booklet called "Diseases of the Digestive System. I read it but did not do anything with the information. Some time later purely because I was not sleeping well I went to the health shop and she told me to try Magnesium Oxide. This was the product that the book had said to take for Chrons, IBS, Colitis etc. I have been Colitis free for 2 years now. No other drugs of any kind! I encourage you to try this product, mine has a combination of calcium and zinc also and is a Radiance product. If unsure try a search on Magnesium Oxide and Chrons.

Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
I came across this and it has been proven to work. As you know your glutathione level has alot to do with it. A Dr. Robert Keller out of Florida has a product that has been tested (with clinical trials on people not mice) with amazing results. For more information please visit www.multiuse.info or email me at improvelife@sympatico.ca

Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
Have you tried Kefir? If not, do look it up on the www. You may be amazed at the results, but it takes some time and you need to wean yourself onto it starting with a glass per day then up to two or three - tastes like yoghurt, but just a bit stronger. The supplier i get my Kefir from suffered badly from Chrons but since she discovered Kefir, it changed her life so much she began marketing it in the UK for fellow sufferers. Most importantly - stop the pot. It isn't so much the pain relief but the toxins you are putting into your body by smoking it that will exacerbate the condition - also- by smoking it you aren't doing your blood - which gets cleaned in the lungs - any favours for helping your situation. Eat biolivve yoghurt everyday as well, but because yoghurts and Kefir are binding, drink plenty of water. And Mung bean sprouts. Eat a handful of these home grown babies every day and you will begin to notice a difference, but it takes time. Go to www.nourishkefir.co.uk to read some testimonials. It may be just the thing you're looking for. The woman who owns this company had symptoms not unlike yours before she beagn with kefir - and she has to drink it everyday. Again, she can't say how much it changed her life. I hope this has been of some help. Hold onto the light and don't despair. Your words were very painful. Take some quiet time to release everyday for fifteen min, try some mild yoga, and breathe. You'll be okay. You will.

Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
First of all you need to take control of it. your letting it rule your life, when you should be doing the opposite. ive been there... i know what its like to be 97 pounds and my hair falling out, no energy, ended up having a blood and iron transfusion...absolute mess, looked like hell. You should go to the health food store and get yourself some good enzymes to help absorb and digest your food. It'll help with the pain. Also get some flora aka pro-biotics (good bacteria) you can also get that at the health food store and it helps put the good bacteria back into your body to help fight the bad bacteria that is taking over your intestinal tract. You should also get a good multivitamin... and not just that cheap stuff you get at the grocery store either...its gotta be the good kind with amino acids, zinc, b-vitamins. Talk to a health food specialist...do your research. I was diagnosed with Chrones when I was 17 and have lived with it for 5 years already. Yeah its embarrassing but dont feel sorry for yourself.

Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
My daughter started getting ill when she was nine. By age 12 she started be hospitalized. She was on steroids and Purinethol ( 6MP) for years. Every time they tried to ween her off of steroids she would start to flare up. She was hospitalized 17 times from age 12 to 19, each visit anywhere from 1 week to 28 days. At 19 we were referred to another specialist. She has finally be diagnosed as UC/Crohn's - She has been successfully weened off of steroids and is now on Colazal. She has been symptom free for two years now.

Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
I was diagnosed with Chrones in May 06, although I've battled with it for over 10 years. It is extremely frustating as it affects all aspects of your life. Look for a less stressful job and you will see a massive change. I still eat the wrong things and try to ignore the advice I get but I always pay for it. I understand your frustration, pain and exhustion of what seems to becoming extremly common in our society. I am going to see a nutritionalist for help, so if I have any luck I will past it on.

Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
My wife has been told today that she will need "THE" operation. She is very upset & ive tried to comfort her but even i know that without having chrones my " dont worry it will be ok " is not what she wants to hear. She wants her doctor to tell that the chrones is gone. She knows its not going to happen but she hopes. I think she should talk to other people with CD as she may find an alternative to the doctors wishes, she only talks about it to me when she feels like it, & as she has been alone in alot of things in her life i think she feels alone in this too. I cant seem to do or say much to comfort her or understand what she goes thru but i'll keep trying as i love her. As you have lived thru more than your fair share of CD could i impose on you to send her a message so that maybe she could start to correspond with others who may have alternatives or advise.

Re:Chrones-Tips Reply to this message
CROHN’S DISEASE – “For many years I had Crohn’s disease, an inflammatory bowel
disease. I suffered from constant pain in my abdomen along with irritability and malnutrition.
I also had Epstein Barr virus also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Over the years I
have tried many forms of therapy - I even went to a hospital in Mexico. I started taking
Transfer Factor and noticed that I was sleeping through the night without any pain and could
eat foods that I never could before. My energy levels also increased. I have had absolutely
no symptoms of the Crohn’s disease since I began using Transfer Factor.” Dave Daughtrey,
California, USA
