hey kelly, you're spot on[no pun intended].
My partner noticed a 'black mole' on the back of my thigh about 9 months ago while I was up a ladder doing some reno's.
I went & had it looked at and was diagnosed with a level 4 melanoma, which was 7mm round & 3.5mm deep.
I had this removed by my GP & referred to the Hospital to have surgery.
They removed a larger area around the previous area where the melanoma was removed, and removed 2 Lymph Nodes to be examined.
Complications with Fluid retention have now resulted in Lymphodaemia [Elephantitis], which I am currently going through.
SO TO EVERYONE. GET THOSE SPOTS CHECKED!!! |

I recently have been getting afew very dark moles removed and one of those moles came back with ab-normal cells(melanomia).
I had to go and get some extra skin removed, because of this. The wound is now healing, but it was quite a big piece of skin removed.
The good news is that, the skin came back normal, BUT because now I have a history of melanomia, I have to go and get the wound site checked every 3 months for the next 12 months and then it will be every 6 months for a year and then maybe once a year from then on.
The reason for this is because the melanomia can grow back.
So please go and see your Doctor and get your Spots and Dot's checked, it could save your life. I'm glad I did! |
