Hi, My wife may need to have Carpal Tunnel Surgery. Can you tell me what is the expected cost in Australia? I'm worried as i'm a overseas student here and my health insurance would not cover the cost.

Lauren, have you had surgery for this? My daughter had to have cortisone injections for quite some time just to be able to function, prior to surgery. She was told at post op assessment that the surgeon "may not have got all of the nerve" and she may have to have further surgery!!! Not happy! At this stage, it's improved a lot and she won't need to do that, so good luck.

thanks for the feedback re your situation. My daughter also had it with first pregnancy over 16 yrs ago and it went away, but she experienced it early this time and couldn't get help until it was quite severe. Guess it varies with each person.

Has anyone had this surgery? if so, did you get good results? My daughter has had CTS all during pregnancy and up to last week (baby 5 mths now) and has not experienced any relief as yet from the surgery last monday. We have heard that it's usually instant relief following surgery?? Appreciate any input re this.
